Thank you for going through this. I am struggling with the same issue on a different Costco Kohler faucet.

I had the same problem with a brand new Kohler kitchen faucet. Contacted Kohler and they said to soak it in a vinegar/water solution for 10 minutes. I was skeptical but that actually worked. No more splattering!

Great! Thanks for the tip. I’ll have to try that.

You looked in the wrong end! The side you first looked at with the screen has a water restictor under it! I had the same issue(brand new Kolher from Costco) and now have perfect stream and way more pressure!

thanks for trying to resolve it. I had same issue just out of box with professional installation. Chatted with Kohler requested new spray head so they are opening a warranty ticket. Unless you didn't purge your line prior it is possible some may get debris but its unlikely.

Thank you so much for this video. I've been trying to get the end of this Kohler faucet off for months. Your method worked perfectly.

You can also use needle nose pliers opened up into two of the opposing tabs. Once in place, turning the body while holding the pliars in place was easier than turning the pliars.

I just installed a brand new Kohler Simplice yesterday and right out of the box it's doing this. Not pleased at all. I was ready to do a return and look for another brand this morning, then I found your video. Obviously, it's a design flaw or quality control problem. I'll be giving Kohler Canada a call today to see what they offer as a solution. Curious, did removing the blue piece help with greater water flow prior to engaging the BOOST button? If I stick with this faucet, greater flow would be fantastic without having to ALWAYS hit the boost button. Takes forever to even get the sink half full.
That said, the look of the faucet is nice. I notice the spring torque makes the arced part sit a little off center (to the left) where the head contacts the magnet, with mild OCD that's a bit of an issue, I see yours does the same. Great quality video. Clear, concise, in focus and thanks for leaving commenting on.

Thanks for the comment. To answer your question, I don’t remember if it was better flow without the blue screen. Yes, I totally agree, I’d prefer the boost pressure all the time as well. 👍

@@TheKnoxcountry before I returned, reached out to kohler and they are sending me a replacement head no questions asked. after some research, this may have been a known issue. I also ordered a couple of spare aerators that are listed as high flow to put in the new head. they increase flow from 1.5gpm to 1.8gpm. part # K-1167290

@@TheKnoxcountry New replacement head arrived from Kohler. Installed and seemed to work better with no sputtering. This lasted 1 day. Sputtering out the 'fan' part is back as bad as the original. I have determined that may actually be a design flaw. Typically, on other brands of faucets, stream is the normal setting. You press the button and get the fan or 'jet' or rinse pattern. when you shut the tap off. they revert automatically to stream when pressure drops. This Kohler Simplice stays in the fan pattern unless you manually change it back to stream from fan. I noticed if I keep my thumb on the button for stream setting and press it harder while the water is running, the sputtering through the fan part stops and the stream is perfect. Let go and it sputters. It's like the force of the water itself is causing the setting between stream and fan engage itself partially, which results in the sputtering. I'm going to reach out to Kohler again and see what they offer as a resolution.

Interesting! I’ll have to try that sequence and see what happens. In our case, the new replacement went back to sputter in about a week but not as bad as the original. I agree….. Design flaw

I would hope so. I’d assume any problem with the head would be covered under warranty. If it falls under the warranty terms that is. Let us know

I am amazed that there is no guidance anywhere to show you how to remove the bottom piece. You had to make your own tool, and those holes were to me the only apparent way to unscrew the bottom. I called Kohler and they said there IS no tool for this and it is all one piece and not designed to be serviceable. Seems like really poor design and also they were clearly not telling the truth about the bottom not being removable! Sneaky.
