This is the video I needed! You get right to the point, no annoying music in the background and you provide great details. I've been searching for and watching TH-cam videos all morning long to try to find out how to take this apart and I end up abandoning most of them for one reason or another. This is how videos should be done!
Oh my god I do this too! I figure it's broken already so why not take it apart and see how it works. Sometimes like you I've actually fixed things! Glad I found a kindred spirit.
Thanks, needed this! I didn't realize I could just pull the buttons off to slide out the internals and fix the valve. Now its greased up and works like new.
A set of reamers for carburetors works wonders for cleaning small openings in faucets. It is ~20 stainless wires of varying gauge useful to clean orifices. The set is inexpensive. Nice vid!
Kohler has a lot of faucets that come with a lifetime warranty. I called and they sent me a new sprayer, hose, and soap bottle for the dispenser, free of charge after my faucet was 15 years old. They were great at honoring the warranty with no hassle at all.
instead of dismantling how about just putting it all in vinegar and see how far that goes its always more than interesting to see how things work since one understand the physics of things around them to get a general estimate if things are easily enough to fix. Just like how some people throw out a $1000 lawn mower and all was needed was the carburetor clean. A powerful pc and all that was needed was a reinstallation of os. Or a Fridge and all is needed is a $10 component for a $1000 fridge.
Thank you. Having same problem. I called. Kohler & they sent me free nozzle replacement but same thing happened again even with soaking in vinegar as they suggested
I save an auto mixer valve for my shower, I let it soak for a week in CLR, every day I moved the vale to close to open, it come out like new one week later.
Thanks for the video, mine doesn't have a pause button but when you press on just aerator mode there's some drips coming out from the spay. I have to press very hard on the aerator button to get the drips to stop from the spray mode. What do you think is the issue?
One comment: My Simplice sprayer has a different design requiring a pin scanner wrench to unthread the diffuser end. A pair of needle-nose pliers work well to disassemble and then re-assemble the sprayer. A soak overnight in white vinegar and then some clean with an old toothbrush, cotton swabs, and toothpicks cleaned everything up. No parts needed replacement. My sprayer works like new now, not like the ten years old that it is.
Excellent video! Those spouts are too complicated. At 0:14, you show your wrench grasping the aerator, presumably on two flats. My faucet's aerator has no flats. (Model 596-CP). I bought the faucet less than two weeks ago, in Nashua, NH.
Why don’t you just call Kohler and they will replace it free of charge. They have replaced mine three times. Right now they are sending me a new replacement hose with the sprayer free. You should not have to do what you are doing and it still has a chance of not working right. And the cost.
@@HacksbyDad I did an online chat late on a Sunday night! I bought my faucet six years ago on Amazon, and was able to provide the Amazon order number. He didn't even ask any questions, just said they would send a new spray head under warranty. This faucet does have a lifetime warranty, although I didn't think that would cover parts damaged by hard water. By the way I did ask if they had an aerator key service part, and apparently they don't.
but ... but ... but, your old! .. that by itself makes any, intelligence, knowledge, and/or experience you have irrelevant .. because, hey! .. this is the new generation you just simply don't understand anything!

Brilliant work! Nice attention to detail (food safe silicone grease, vinegar, cautions about o-rings, etc.).
Thanks… much appreciated! 😎
Thanks for the great vids👍🖖👏✌️
What a great job and so to the point. Thank you so much! You are a Pro TH-cam Video Maker very impressed!
Thanks! Not sure about the Pro TH-cam video maker, but I'll take it. LOL

You’re welcome and thanks for the tip! 😎
I just tore mine apart. Normally i just soak the whole thing in vinegar but I wanted to check the internals. Pretty clean inside, thanks for the Vid.
You’re welcome! Thanks for the feedback! 😎
This breakdown was very easy to follow. Thank-you
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback back. 😎
Awesome! I have the same kitchen faucet and have replaced the spray head twice, but kept the old ones. I'm going to refurbish them!
Good luck! 👍😎
Thanks man, saved me $40 to replace!
👍😎
Thank you for the inspiration to take mine apart. I was able to clean it and remove the restrictor.

Thank you! 👍😎
Excellent inspirational video. Concise and to the point.
Inspirational?! No one has described my videos as inspirational before. Thanks! 😎
I'm going to try this.

TY for the info! I have a newer model with a bad valve. Just managed to get it apart to deep clean. I'll probably make my own video of that soon.

Here's my problem.... i would have no problem taking that apart and cleaning it. But i guarantee i would forget how to put that thing back together.

Not sure. Have you tried taking it apart and cleaning all the parts? 😎
Just what I was looking for. Great video. Thank you.
👍😎
Thanks for the great video. You saved me alot
You’re welcome! 😎

Awesome

How did you unscrew the end? There are no flat edges for a wrench to grab. I tried pliers but it won't turn.
Mine has flats. 🤷🏻♂️
Awesome . I lowe the video
Thanks! 😎

Thanks! Mine luckily had the wrench flats. I think most of Kohler’s new aerators need a key for installation and removal. 😎
@@HacksbyDad Mine does. You can find instructions online for cobbling together a key. I haven't got around to trying it yet.

I have kohler k598 spray head what tool will disasemble only one I;ve found is to small
Sorry... I don't know. 🤷🏻♂
0:20 bro, how the hell did you get that off? It's slippery as all can be
Not sure. Mine unscrewed without any issues. 🤷🏻♂
This is great if your Kohler spray head is not glued together.
Excellent video, thanks. Wow, your mother-in-law has some pretty toxic water. L O L
No disassemble Johnny 5!
Yeah they changed the design to make it impossible so you have to buy another one.
$13.

I actually enjoy taking things apart and fixing them if possible. 😎
They'll send a whole new spray had even if mine is clogged with hard water scale? That's pretty amazing.
@@cavenewt9980 Thanks! Did you need to send in a copy of a receipt or other type of proof of purchase?
