    Hi Dave, love your videos and the content you make. Just wanted to ask if you could use less jump cuts in your videos? Sometimes it’s with every sentence and it’s distracting. I hope you don’t see this as criticism but just a friendly request 😊
    Other than that… like your work and content so thanks again for the stuff you put out!

    After my initial gasp at the title, I settled down and watched with interest. Great choices, perfectly rational and looking forward to the results!

    as someone who was born, still lives ( NE ) and shoots a lot in the Plains....to say I am excited about this new project of yours is a serious understatement. So pumped to see more of what you can create.

    The Plains is a great interest of mine, photographically speaking. I am looking forward to seeing all the work. I too regret selling my Rolleiflex some years ago. I will have another soon.

    I alternate my m6 and my m10r. And something I go for my mamiya 645 pro when I need more res for film. Usually I like the 35mm format for film because of the grain and depth the “small format” has

      That’s awesome. I love the 35mm look for a lot of things. This particular project required a lot of cleaner looks, but I’m excited to see the 35mm as well.

    Well done video. I do something similar after taking an image with one of the digital cameras, I'll take a shot with my iPhone as an easy way to have the GPS data. I'm too addle-brained to keep track of it sometimes. Good luck on the Plains project. I'll keep an eye out for you lol. I'm working on one in the Kansas Flint Hills that may expand out to more areas later.

    can i suggest a high quality microphone for your work? Something to get super quality with bass tones. No once cares if the mic is visible. Hard to listen with the reverb.

      @@davidherringFYI I have no issues with the audio, so not sure what’s going on with Maui.

      I use a high end mic and acoustic treatment, and EQ/compress. I thought audio was fine but it’s all subjective.

      @@davidherring hmm. try deepening the bass a bit. It seems to me at least it is slightly too far from the mic... just try it see if you like it

    Hey, what is that annoying kerned rectangle that appears to the side of your photos? An interesting video, amazing pictures - wish the distraction wasn’t there

      This video has no photos. You mean the intro video clips? It’s Super8 overlay from Dehancer. Just thought I’d try something new.

    Fun and interesting as always. Just love your approach to capturing images. Using the M11 as backup to film cameras is brilliant. Just have to ask, did you adjust the ISO setting to match the film ASA, and then use the M11 as your light meter as well?

    • @davidherring
      @davidherring  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! No, I went as clean as possible with digital and mostly shot at ISO64. I mostly metered off the sunny 16 rule, as I don’t have a meter and I don’t fully trust the phone app or the Rolleiflex meter. Ironically I trust myself more haha. But we’ll see how it turns out. The M6 meter hasn’t failed me, but I always meter off shadows.
