All of these cars are high-spec sport versions. In your introduction you referenced price sensitivity as a factor in a customer's choice in this B-class segment. Perhaps it would be more logical to compare models that are in a lower priced mid-spec trim which is how most of them will be sold.

I did have to wait six months for delivery due to the pandemic, but I love it the only down side for me is the diving position, it isn't perfect and if you are tall it would be a problem. Not having a clear view of the dials in some seat positions. and not sure the piano keys add anything.
And all for nothing..... the biggest scam in the world just to take away more freedom and rights of the people. Hope than many realize this. Germany just told what damage the 🤐 caused....

Victor G. They did, but it broke down. Renault couldn’t fix it for a week, sending for parts etc. Well practiced routine they have, electrical gremlines
I like the Peugeot. But Problem with funky designs such as 208 is that in a few years when all the initial excitement has faded and the market changes the taste the Peugeot will look dated. A classic, clean design such as Polo will stand the test of time. I am looking at old Golf 4, Passat, Audi A4 etc and they still look actual and dignified on the streets even after 20 years.

I totally agree with you Thomas. I think Vw Polo is the best competitor because it has more sportiness, it is classy, easier to use the climate control and it has more space in the back seats and in the boot. But Peugeot 208 seems to be upper class, more value for money in technology against Polo and it has that avant garde feeling which leads you to a choice from the heart!
For me the Fiesta wins overall, but it's the Corsa I went for as the offers were far superior than any of the others, even the Seat Ibiza. The Corsa does everything that was described in the video but it was a cool £20 a month cheaper than any of the others with similar specifications at the time I purchased. Perhaps Vauxhall are getting up to their old tricks of throwing loads of subsidies at it to buy market share
hence best selling car of the year knocked fiesta of the top spot first time in years but is for the first time in years a really great car! i ordered one last few weeks 1.2 turbo ultimate!! down sizing from a volvo v40 wanted a smaller car with all the features of a mid class car corsa does it all!
Hi Thomas, at 30:28 you could mention that the automatic gear box is from Aisin (vs ZF). Exact model: 8-speed Aisin AWF8F35 automatic, and very good indeed

@@autogefuehl I don't understand their strategy. TH-cam and social networks are increasingly important in terms of audience and brand image. Renault seems late on this subject and their image lacks dynamism, especially among young people. It is the same here in France, some TH-camr and influencers do not have access to Renault vehicles. Consequence: German brands continue to have a reputation and the others are less known to the public.
Great job Thomas you are the master, all great cars would have been nice to include Clio. Hope you test new VW UP GTI! The blue on the 208 Is superb I also like the power Orange on Corsa. Price wise probably the Corsa or Renault.
Peugeot 208, if you want to go electric, the Ford Fiesta, if you want a very good allrounder and the Mazda 2, if you want something a little bit different, but still with very good value.
Very curious which Polo models are top 3 ? And is it really worth paying extra for golf since new polo seems very similar? Last but not least would you prefer polo or Peugeot 208 or ford fiesta?

Great car, the 208, i bought a used Allure Premium 100hp manual, not a good gearbox, wish i had bought the auto gearbox. I have since sold that car, am looking to buy the 208 Allure 100hp automatic., but i wish you could buy that car with the 16” alloy wheels that are on the car you test drove in the video. The 17” Diamond cut alloy wheels on the GT Line and above, whilst looking nice, are hard to clean and because of the extra low profile tyres, are hard to keep clean, and hard to clean the inner rims,and very easy to scuff the rims on kerbs and pot holes, also the road noise from the tyres on the 17” inch rims is quite noisy.

I know you have tested Renault cars more, but the most fighting races in these B-class HB cars in Europe are very competitive. That's why I would like to see the newest Clio 5 among them and decide which one is better. I think something is forgotten which the most sold cars in this class..My criticism was just for this purpose . otherwise I can watch your videos everytime. Nice reviews my only suggestion is to put all the specifications (Ex: engine,fuel/km,equipment) of the cars in the description below like the price that which cost.

Here is my personal opinion on both: The exterior: I like Mazda's design a bit more than the Volkswagen. It is an adorable little hatch, which I love. I don't know why I just like little cars so much. Very adorable. This Soul Red Crystal is my favourite colour on ANY of Mazda's cars. I always love Mazda's looks. Volkswagen is easy on my eyes, but that's it. It does not make me go, “Wow!” Interior: Typical Mazda. Very clean, simple, and just something I love looking at. The steering wheel is nice, except I am not a fan of the plastic between the vertical lines, and I am not a fan of that plastic Heads Up Display. Anyway, I would get the interior in white. I love the interior overall, but the quality in a few areas and the tech is a bit..lacking, even for the price, and I am a very lenient person willing to give the benefit of the doubt. It looks nice, but does not feel that way everywhere. I had the same issue with the 2018 Mazda CX-5. Looked nice, but when I started playing around I was taken aback by the lack of quality, but it was good enough. In my opinion, the Mazda looks a bit nicer in some cases, but the on-the-touch quality in the Volkswagen is better. Better materials overall, but the Mazda is not bad at all. I do particularly love Volkswagen's interior design. Very modern. Technology: The Heads Up Display on the Mazda is...oof. It works, but the plastic thing is a no for me. Mazda's infotainment has been a weak point. It is showing its age quickly, but it is sort of okay for the price. I prefer Volkswagen's tech. Mazda's rear view camera is...not the best, but more than adequate. However, Mazda now having a hybrid system is a huge plus! Specs: I do not like how Mazda specs any of their cars at all. It is very limited due to specs and trim levels. Seems like I would be forced to get things I don't want. When I was looking for a CX-5, I could not even get white seats on the Signature trim, and the engine only came with a turbo and Automatic...which I hated. I prefer Volkswagen's spec system. More variable and more customizable. Overall: My favourite between the two has to be...I don't know. I really like both a lot. The Mazda tech (excluding the infotainment) is nice. Even though specs are limiting, there are a lot of stuff to have considering the price. The only thing that would deter me from the Mazda is repairs. They don't come cheap relative to the car's price. Sorry Autogefühl for another overly long comment. Those are my summarized thoughts. I have more, but it would be way too long. @Lightning Farron I always have a high opinion when it comes to creativity, innovation, reliability, when there is a good, logical story behind the product. When materials, talent and potential are used well. When you are a little bit different from others and you are not working like the others where it only matters to you to sell more and meet regulations. Their cars are sincere, don't need to lie,and they are staying firm behind that. That is my opinion in short about Mazda. Mazda have some soft plastics but that is for crash reasons but people don't understand that. Mazda have really great driveability, engine, transmission, the gears are made very well, it's light and agile, stearingwheel perfect. Etc etc. And you don't have to worry about repairs with Mazda, they are bulletproof!! Not like VW crap
1:13:40 Alright hold up. I just converted that to USD and got a price of 33 000 USD. Did I do something wrong? That price is so high. You can buy so many bigger vechiles for that price. I thought it would start around 15-18 k USD this starring price makes no sense.
Ford Fiesta: One of the prettiest front daylights (they did not opt for just line here, line there... but they actually made a stylist circle) Annoying PWMed daylights are a minus from me :| I also like that they did not choose thin and very bright lights on the back and front that can make you blind in the night.
ordered a vauxhall corsa after watching AJ.s review 1.2 130 ultimate red black roof! didy steering wheel put me right of the 208! and the ford dealer couldnt even get me an auto to test drive!! Allen Ford Coventry lost a good sale there!! First time i went to allen ford i was looking for a for focus auto to test drive! not available can u get one we will ring u no one rang! i bought a golf! second time was looking for an auto mondeo same scenario! i bought a passat! didnt even bother with them the time after that just ordered an insignia from vauxhall! the car in changing now is a volvohas been an absolutley great car to own but as im ageing and not doing the miles i used to i thought a downsize was in order! Allen ford shit out again no car with an auto box to test drive again !! Ford usa dont bloody sell a manual car anymore
I must be to American. On surface level I like this segment. But then I sat in the back of the last gen Ford Fiesta and I just don't see how people fit back there. I was only about 5'8 130 lbs at the time and it was just extremely uncomfortable. And then another thing is how cheap this segment is. Most people just spend the same amount of money to buy a used better built compact car. Also the engines seem questionable reliability wise and seem very weak. Though I can understand sometimes people want a new cheap car with no potential baggage from the last owner. At some point a car gets too small. They all are good lookers mostly too. I really love the current gen style of the Peugeot and Ford.
@@autogefuehl But styling wise I love it the most. It is clean but not boring. I do wish we got the Focus in NA. I'm really impressed by it compared to the last gen. Shame though that it's sales are falling behind.

I had a Ford Fiesta st(2019). Excellent car but build quality was mediocre. The Car had lots of rattling noises.(dashboard, arm rest, the screen and noise by the C pillar). Something to consider...
i tested opel corsa. worst ergonomics ever. once i finally got into not so much comfy position, i couldn't see the speedometers because the steering wheel was on the way. i think the reason is opel's bad readaptation of peugeot i-cockpit.

I test drove the 208 last Saturday and loved it. It feels so special to sit in, short list was Fiesta, Polo and the 208. 208 won for me.

The clio is the 2nd best-selling car in europe in recent years. It is incomprehensible that renault does not lend you one.

Fiesta is more German than any other vehicle here. Ford Germany has started production in 1925 in Germany whereas other German brands much later.

Super torn between the Fiesta And Corsa, the ford feels as a better car in many points but do love the styling and opel as a brand 😀

Mazda have some soft plastics but that is for crash reasons but people don't understand that.
Mazda have really great driveability, engine, transmission, the gears are made very well, it's light and agile, stearingwheel perfect. Etc etc. And you don't have to worry about repairs with Mazda, they are bulletproof!!

Alright hold up. I just converted that to USD and got a price of 33 000 USD.
Did I do something wrong? That price is so high. You can buy so many bigger vechiles for that price.
I thought it would start around 15-18 k USD this starring price makes no sense.

I also like that they did not choose thin and very bright lights on the back and front that can make you blind in the night.

ordered a vauxhall corsa after watching AJ.s review 1.2 130 ultimate red black roof! didy steering wheel put me right of the 208! and the ford dealer couldnt even get me an auto to test drive!! Allen Ford Coventry lost a good sale there!! First time i went to allen ford i was looking for a for focus auto to test drive! not available can u get one we will ring u no one rang! i bought a golf! second time was looking for an auto mondeo same scenario! i bought a passat! didnt even bother with them the time after that just ordered an insignia from vauxhall! the car in changing now is a volvohas been an absolutley great car to own but as im ageing and not doing the miles i used to i thought a downsize was in order! Allen ford shit out again no car with an auto box to test drive again !! Ford usa dont bloody sell a manual car anymore
I must be to American. On surface level I like this segment. But then I sat in the back of the last gen Ford Fiesta and I just don't see how people fit back there. I was only about 5'8 130 lbs at the time and it was just extremely uncomfortable.
And then another thing is how cheap this segment is. Most people just spend the same amount of money to buy a used better built compact car. Also the engines seem questionable reliability wise and seem very weak.
Though I can understand sometimes people want a new cheap car with no potential baggage from the last owner.
At some point a car gets too small.
They all are good lookers mostly too. I really love the current gen style of the Peugeot and Ford.

@@autogefuehl But styling wise I love it the most. It is clean but not boring. I do wish we got the Focus in NA. I'm really impressed by it compared to the last gen. Shame though that it's sales are falling behind.

I had a Ford Fiesta st(2019). Excellent car but build quality was mediocre. The Car had lots of rattling noises.(dashboard, arm rest, the screen and noise by the C pillar). Something to consider...

i tested opel corsa. worst ergonomics ever. once i finally got into not so much comfy position, i couldn't see the speedometers because the steering wheel was on the way. i think the reason is opel's bad readaptation of peugeot i-cockpit.
