The A-bodies have a frame and about the same weight, I do not like the sub-frame and I enjoy the added room with the bench out I put in a subwoofer console I made. Plus the look of the GTO, or my favorites the Lemans and Tempest is what I like the most about it.

69 was a watershed year because it was the first year that the GTO wasn’t the top selling muscle car. It was beat by the 69 SS 396. Things got far worse in 70 with GTO sales tanking by almost 50% and now being outsold by several other muscle cars that didn’t see such severe sales decline as the 70 GTO.

Oh. Those 60s colors and style. So awsome. Yum. Tangible works of art and history. The culture then. Auto production was a good job then before to much automation. The people and how the world was back then that design and build them.
Try driving a real fast nice car, slow. Kicked back with the tunes on. Nothing else like it.

Keep the bumper metal, it is very sturdy and protects the car while the fake GTO Endura does nothing for protection. The older metal is great, you rechrome everything. I use the resto handles and stuff while I'm redoing the original chrome pieces. This I love how it looks and meanwhile the same a body in that year for Chevrolet I didn't like how it looks. Best car ever. Also available in station wagon "Safari".

My Family had a green 1968....wouldn't start when my Father and I went to pick it up at the Pontiac dealership. Mechanic couldn't start it. Next day took delivery...
It was why my Dad bought a 1969 Toyota Corona for 1900 dollars the next year. 1971 Toyota Corona Mark 2 and a Datsun 510 also in 1971...
Later as a 27 year old, I became acquainted with John Delorean. His home in Bedminster N.J., now TRUMP National Golf Club...Rather interesting how life develops, wouldn't you say. Now in 2020, have 2 Scion XB's and a Camry...Early 90's, personally sold 160 new INFINITI Automobiles...Q45, J30, G20 and M30 Convertibles...
All just because when I was 12 in 1968, I convinced my Father to buy a GTO, that didn't start at delivery!!!!

The GTO was definitely a sales success, but they were mid-tier musclecars. Out on the streets, Hemi and 440 Mopars as well as Stage 1 Buicks and LS6 Chevelles terrorized the GTO, basically leaving it for dead in any drag race
