Well it’s worked and if you can sew you will make a better job - magnets worked fine but no it sure if in midge country you may need more of them - but it’s a great addition and takes no space

@francescacounselling I know some put a zip around the edge and attached it to the van put that’s more complicated

Well done you made a good job of the screen if I had known and lived close I could have given/ loaned you a proper sewing machine which would have saved you some time and probably been stronger. I do enjoy your videos 👋👋👋
Jane was away when I made it and we then found an old sewing machine in the loft that she knows how to work …. But the glue I have to say was good and we have road tested them in Europe and they are great
Really useful and entertaining video which has provided the inspiration to make our own. Keep up the good work.
Well I can report for flys at least and small insects it worked well in Europe - we just used lots of magnets around the edges - a real test is Scotland I guess sometime - I think having enough material at the edges will help them getting in that way
The best bit is a real XL zip as so easy getting in and out the bin - just make sure you get midge grade not fly screen grade - I think I put a link of the stuff I used in the description
I have ordered the materials and aim to test out the finished item on the West Coast of Scotland in June, when I will of course let you know how I get on!@@getawaygeese

Having broadly followed your instructions with a few tweeks, we are now well and truly in midge country and all I can say is thank you. No midges in our van!

Well considering it all ended on the floor when the glue was wet it worked out ok - we are in Europe now and roadtested them and they work really well and the magnets I have are strong

Looks great, pat on the backs to you both! Our one has a border made of "tent" material which you removed the door rubber and trapped it within when you bashed it back on, if that makes sense. It came with two more zips left and right so it can be rolled up leaving the surround in place. Just an idea that might work if the magnets dont. Thanks for the vlog!
That sounds a good fit …. We just tested them in Europe and the magnets are great so it’s easy to deploy - best think I did was putting the zip in

Ah well we road tested in Europe just and all fine with magnets but not tried really with midges . The netting is a bit longer so we put the mat on it but I am thinking sewing in magnets so attaches to the van maybe be

Industrial velcro (hook and loop) will attach if magnets don't work
Yeah didn’t want to mess the van up with Velcro but fortunately we have just been away and a huge success and a few strong magnets with a few medium ones did the trick - I have to say that big zip makes all the difference
