      I think its more of an argument of having food or taking food to the room. While I think its a little cool, it can be seen as creating a bad habit of stashing food and/or being territorial on it which isn't a good thing. Heck it could also create eating disorders by them being able to lock it. Sure its a mini-fridge, but still has food. It's really an open field pretty much and can go many ways. For me? I think it'd have come in handy in high school especially when studying and not wanting to head to the kitchen for a snack then possibly get engaged in conversation or distraction.

    • @_.-._.-.
      @_.-._.-. ปีที่แล้ว +96

      @@blix_xo this is the opposite of what causes disorders. Having food security and having snacks you know are always available to eat is extremely healthy, and takes away any anxiety caused by not knowing when or if they're "allowed" to get a snack. Teaching kids from a young age how to pace themselves when they have secure and constant access to food is a great way to prepare them for eventually living alone, and managing their own needs.
      If they have existing food issues it may not be good but it comes down to just knowing the child, which I'm sure the parent does, at least more than strangers in a comment section.

    • @blix_xo
      @blix_xo ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@_.-._.-. That's why I said its really an open field as in anything can occur. What you think can be good for one kid(s) might not be for others. All depends on the environment.

      Mom here and I agree. We just moved to a new town and my teenager finally doesn’t have to share her room. She spends tons of time in there now and I’m not worried at all. She explained that she just likes the peace and quiet and I think that’s fair. When she finally does make friends here I have no issue with them eating in her room as long as it’s cleaned up afterwards.

      Lmao stop judging this parent and their child. They are happy and that is what matters.... much better than a broken household where there is no love at all.
      Also... just because other kids and teens have it bad, it doesn't mean that love should be limited or invalid in many forms to the ones that do have parents that care.
      The person was merely explaining their reason for their first reaction but had thought about it and it came from the fact they did not have this and probably had a stricter parent with a lot more rules.... they are also allowed to feel that sadness or feel as if they missed out. This is a great idea , I thought about this for my son, but I quickly changed my mind because I’d never see him if I did. He spends to much time in his room. He doesn’t need a fridge. I love seeing and spending time with him.

    Jesus!!!! These kids don’t know how good they have it these days! Can’t imagine any parents in the 90s doing this for their kids, just to get views on TikTok! 🤦🏼‍♀️I was lucky if I was allowed to take a drink into my room and unsupervised with friends was a no no, if I had friends over, we had to be downstairs where we could be kept an eye on at all times!
