I adore both Richard and Greg so I've watched this one a few times over the last 7 years. Here I am watching it again but this time I cannot help but wonder how many of those lovely young men, the married vodka guy, the health spa guys, the vendors, etc were conscripted in Putin's hideous war and are gone now. Did any of them turn into monsters? Are their wives and mothers forever in grief now? Are their children growing up without fathers for no good reason? F**k Putin for what he's done to these families as well as all the Ukrainian families who suffer to this day.
Small chance that they are in the military now. Mainly people from poorer area's and/or minority groups are getting conscripted. The Moscow and St Petersburg region have the lowest percentage of people being called for war. It's very sad but the poor people are fighting the rich man's war (as usual).
Even the most anti-putin press put the number of people mobilized at 1 mil TOPS, it's most likely less than that, somewhere between the official 300k and that. Thats less than 1% of the entire population, and on top of that Moscow has one of the lowest percentages of people being drafted. It is most likely that none of the people you saw left, unless some of them volunteered
can assure you, no more men perished, no more widowed wifes' tears shed than in any other major war machine of a country in the world today. I'm sure we all know the names. Don't make such a drama about such a wrong part of it all
If I went to Russia all I’d want to do is drink all day. 19:27 Okay, that’s a weird synchronicity... whilst Greg mentioned Tears For Fears, I was entering one of their songs as an answer to a music quiz I’m playing.
