Am here thanks to a COVID19 TH-cam Rik Mayall deep dive that obviously took a turn... I feel I missed out on something discovering this now. Hurrah. So here i am now, laughing, a new RHLSTP fan. Greetings from Australia. Laughing is good. I need a hobby.
Aw, Rik. Brilliant stuff. Laughed a lot and clearly Rich and Greg were having a lot of fun. Comedy fan who needed a lift today, so cheers!! And both of you; live to an almost ridiculously good age; I demand it. ; )
greg davies always makes me smile (: I watched his comedy when I was really depressed and it cheered me up loads for that moment I could have listened to it for agessssssss I would love to see him live I'm from northern ireland though doubt he would ever come here! haha
Tell me about it i wish he'd come to belfast on tour! I might end up going to scotland to see his tour next year bc im so desperate to see him live haha
+Wolf Moon Yeah haha I'm from Belfast where in NI you from? Really tempted to go to Edinburgh or Glasgow in October next year if I can persuade a few mates into it hahaha
about 30 mins from belfast but easy enough to get into belfast for me. Thanks to good ole translink. Scotland would be sweet I love getting away from NI and I am half scottish so I'd love to get back to scotland any excuse like haha can u private message me and we can discuss it more dude?
There is something life-affirming about his comedy; I think it's his willingness to talk about hating his figure, which is more usually a subject for female comics, as well as his incredulity at how his life hasn't exactly gone down the wife and 2.4 children route (where most comics his age have family now and are doing riffs about being bamboozled fathers) and yet although he's honest he's never bitter, angry or smug about it. It is pretty common to see comics doing the man-child schtick, but his unusual twist on it is that he's still got the vestiges of the alpha-male Mr Gilbert aura hanging around him, which makes it a bit different. Plus he clearly adores his bonkers family so he never leaves you feeling he's unfairly using them as comic fodder. I still find it fascinating to imagine how his conversations with Liz Kendall might have gone.
I live in Wem Shropshire, it's a real place! Greg must be up visiting his mum because I served him in our local petrol station ( in Wem) yesterday, and wow he is very tall! 😀
Greg doesn't live that far from me, although I've never met him personally......Glad he's representing Shropshire.......And he's right. We're all fucking mad out here. Lol. Top bloke.
Greg Davies - comedy genius. Very lovely non-intimidating chap, contrary to what his considerable height might suggest! Thank you @Richard Herring for this.
Greg if you're ever in the states, Las Vegas where I am, I'd go out with you in a minute! He's, funny, witty and seems like a caring guy. No halo for him but an alright guy !!💌
I absolutely loved We Are Klang! Fond memories of drawing my interpretation of Mervin the Turd Dragon on my physics bench! I'm also quite glad to hear my obsession with Greg could be a lot worse
Great chemistry gentleman, I'd say ye two could come up with something fab if you let the juices flow, always enjoy Greg and Richards Metro columns always make me smile, peace&love
No idea who was watching 'We Are Klang' and didn't find it absolutely brilliant. It's childish sure, but it's sublimely funny the majority of the time. Which is more than can be said for a lot of TV comedy. And that includes it's obvious inspiration 'The Goodies.'
Just a beer drinking Swede here with no real knowledge about this Guy. wiki: Weakened by torture and aided by the hangman, Fawkes began to climb the ladder to the noose, but either through jumping to his death or climbing too high so the rope was incorrectly set, he managed to avoid the agony of the latter part of his execution by breaking his neck.[37][55][56] His lifeless body was nevertheless quartered[57] and, as was the custom,[58] his body parts were then distributed to "the four corners of the kingdom", to be displayed as a warning to other would-be traitors.[59]
45:05 I don't get it. This was uploaded in april 2016, two years after Rik Mayall died, yet they talk about him as if he is still around. Am I missing something?
I think these early video ones originally went out to paying customers only and we then later released them so everyone could see them for free. So this was recorded before Rik's death.
Fawkes jumped (or fell) from the ladder up to the scaffold and broke his neck - ending his life. Avoiding the full punishment - as he would have been hung to the point of death, let down before he died, then whilst still alive would have been drawn and quartering - basically cut to pieces whilst still alive.
Greg always cheers me up. His comedic flow is so organic and his laughter is infectious. Thank you for having him as a guest.
Greg Davies makes me feel all warm and comforted he looks like a Quentin Blake illustration come to life.
What was the website with the dodgy fantasies???? #askingforafriend
@@pommiegirl8079 dirtybritcomconfessions
So you like "Uncle" Greg.
Greg Davies makes me warm too... but not in a comforted way 😜
@@MrKaywyn No, they like "Uncle Greg".
it's not weird being attracted to Greg , he is hot
Now watching this for the forth time curing me of my terrible day blues.
Works every time.

Nice, Mike! A few more of these types of comments scattered around the internet wouldn't go amiss.
I wouldn’t kick Greg out of bed 👍🏻
Oh, man, I need Greg's reaction to thirsty comments.

I was having such a shitty day and then I watched this. This has to be the funniest fucking conversation I've ever seen. Thank you both. 👏🏻

Still brilliantly funny 3 years later!. Super handsome fellows.
Interview starts at 8:40
Thanks, saved me sitting through the unfunny intro 👍🏻
Hey, how come this hasn’t been expunged? :)
I no longer feel like such a creepy weirdo about my Greg Davies sexual fantasies... and I've learned some things to incorporate for the future. :P
My favourite thing about Greg Davies, him waking up and calling out for his 'Mum'!
Still the best one you have done, Greg is just naturally funny, i think it;s time you had him back on Rich.

richard herring, i like that you're a comedian who laughs openly at other comedians. (whilst being hilarious yourself.) x
I'm just happy to know I'm not the only one with weird sexual fantasies about Greg Davies. There's a whole bunch of us, hooray
teresa pontes , he is a big boy lol
Nope, nope nope, not the only one. I would scale that like I was Sherpa Tenzing. :D
These replies are legendary 😂😂😂 I admit me too 😝😍
Yes I would climb him like the majestic man mountain he is!
I've had a crush on the man for years but lately I've been seeing tons of videos of him with glasses and a stubble. It's definitely a sexier look.
I live in Wem Shropshire, it's a real place! Greg must be up visiting his mum because I served him in our local petrol station ( in Wem) yesterday, and wow he is very tall! 😀
I have to say for parts of this chat I was in physical pain from laughing so hard..
God I *adore* Greg Davies, thanks so much for the awesome podcast :)
I hear you, Clem Fandango.
Keep your hand on the fucking button. *bird scream*
Greg doesn't live that far from me, although I've never met him personally......Glad he's representing Shropshire.......And he's right. We're all fucking mad out here. Lol.
Top bloke.
Best episode. Never seen Richard laugh so much
This is brilliant. Love all the interviews x
Davies' face journey at 31:40 is spectacular.
The funniest episode by a country mile.
Some great Guy Fawkes banter!
I am seriously considering changing my name by deed poll to Ian Gunpowder.
One of the other conspirators was called Ambrose Rookwood. I think it should be called Ambrose Rookwood Night just cos its a much better name.
genuinly one of the funniest things ive ever seen thank you
This is definitely one of my favourites as well.
That was especially joyous.
That guy in the crowd is wrong, he died but they still quartered him.
Greg Davies - comedy genius. Very lovely non-intimidating chap, contrary to what his considerable height might suggest! Thank you @Richard Herring for this.
I will go to London just to meet this guy.. I'm obsessed with you Greg..
Would love to watch a RHLSTP with Doc Brown, Rob Beckett or Jon Richardson
Oh how I wish I found these sooner.
Top job Richard as always Really enjoyed it
Alex the antigen guy is having the last laugh I expect! 😯
Greg if you're ever in the states, Las Vegas where I am, I'd go out with you in a minute! He's, funny, witty and seems like a caring guy. No halo for him but an alright guy !!💌
Omg. I am seriously pissing my self. how have it never heard about this man before. amazing. MOM!!! 😂
I absolutely loved We Are Klang! Fond memories of drawing my interpretation of Mervin the Turd Dragon on my physics bench! I'm also quite glad to hear my obsession with Greg could be a lot worse
two of my more favorite people in entertainment, truly appreciated for the sharing of all your good works. RHLSTP!!!!!
youll enjoy taskmaster s10
I like the Klang TV show, it's different from any other TV shows I've seen and there are some genuinely brilliant moments.
Ian Gunpowder did indeed break his neck before being quartered. Not sure if it was cos rope was too long or if he jumped. Wikipedia doesn't either.
We came to your Crawley gig Richard, loved it. It looked full in there.
I would like to see Flintoff vs Davies in a fight!
Love this, only thing funnier is when you have Susan Calman on.
Aeacus she was surprisingly brilliant
Brilliant! I had forgotten about the legendary milk funneller.
This was fantastic !!
Could you have Ian Gunpowder on next week?
Bloody brilliant!! My sides are aching!! :D
Please can Greg Davies do a sitcom with Frankie Boyle. Both ex teachers...both make me cry with laughter....
I'm thinking a reboot of Bottom 😂
Great chemistry gentleman, I'd say ye two could come up with something fab if you let the juices flow, always enjoy Greg and Richards Metro columns always make me smile, peace&love
There's a lot of love in this podcast, and not in the Dirty Britcom Confessions sense...
I've got size 19 feet, lads. Thanks for the laugh.
Overjoyed to stumble on this but it does look like a victim confronting his school bully if you pause it at the right time. Very funny though 😂😂😂
The theme music for this is weird as hell, but I friggin' love it!
Spike Jones and his city slickers

That was great! Loved it!
I wish we could have seen the look on Greg's face in response to 'Greg Davies is the same age as my dad'.
Imagine having to explain to a pysio therapist why you tear the same muscle every year. LOL.
As a poetry fan, when I hear "Shropshire" I immediately think "A.E. Housman".
@gregdavies is this worth watching?
Ultimate height difference - Richard's legs dangling from the chair 😂
"That's how little respect for you I have." Hahaha!

how did hi fit into a wendy doll house chair? 😂 first time iv seen this podcast these are gold!!
Richard is stoned lol..Someone get poor Greg a cloth lol. Seriously this is brilliant.
The signature before and after .. that really is upsetting
An american girl w a crush on Greg Davies. Blatant honesty + comedy + humanity. Funny is sexy to be sure!
2 Fantastic Comedians 👍👍👍👍👍
Greg looks like the handsome shark version of my science teacher
Weirdly enough
I wasn't busy on the sutton night and it's not that far from me either *shrugs*
I've seen repeatedly. You're both charming as FUCK! Thank you x
Fantastic!
Go to 1:02:37 and do not cry with laughter!
He's a groovy giant like Peter Steele.
04:55 fantastic haha
I Love this!
Would love to see you interview Hislop
“So I had to buy her a cardigan”
I could swear I heard Greg say;
“So I had to buy her a car again.”
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

One day I'll be rich enough to buy a "put a shreck..." t-shirt.
That is a very inadequate looking chair.
This episode is as wonderful as the Danny Baker episode.

@@Herring1967 Ah, I see. Thanks for the explanation. And keep RHLSTP-ing!
Was this recorded before Rik Mayall died?
If only there was some clue in the podcast
Relax a little, he's a comedian, it was a joke - and also true - don't act surprised.
where I come from "cunt" is a term of endearment, I wouldn't worry about it x

I finally have a word for it, height tedium, thank you Greg
i cant look at a pint of milk now
Try warming it up first
I went to one of the places he says.
The guy must be like, seven feet tall.
Missed the only North East gig. Can you not do Durham sometime?
+Stay Dread I did it last year or the year before, but it's up to the theatre to book me, so ask them
+Richard Herring Cheers.
+Stay Dread he's on in Leeds
There's an element of cynicism in older podcasts from Herring versus these days which is interesting.
Greg Davies has let himself Grow
Your face is quite Hollywood, Richard Herring
That Shakespeare exhibition was great, though I got bored of Dr Dee's magic mirror turning up at other stuff for a while.
51:44 Did he catch anything?
Finally. yeah!!!!
Rik Mayall
I love sweet peas!
22:41 Ian gunpowder, - you’re welcome
