We r Thamizh people in Thamizh Eelam.
Maddda Kalappu is the Thamizh name for the Batticola which was wrongly pronounced by the European rulers who couldn't pronounce Thamizh properly.
You are getting the hang of speaking the World oldest language Thamizh.
When you speak Thamizh, if you speak bit slowly, your Thamizh would have more clarity.
Example; when you ask What's your name in Thamizh.
Speak slowly as Unga Peyar ( leave some time ) and say Enna?

@@usharetnaganthan302 What's WRONG with you Usha?
The new name Srilanka only named in 1972 by the Sinhala Buddhist Fundamentalist Srilankan Regime without consent of Tamil Nation Tamil Eelam.
Eelam is the original name of the island and read history properly before you come here to challenge me.
Forefathers, of Sinhalese, were immigrants to the island 🏝️ owned by Tamils and no wonder they changed the name as so called Srilanka which is a an alien language word (NOT even aSinhala word) means Pretty Island which are common words.
When their Forefathers arrived as immigrants, NO such language called Sinhala or Sinhala race.
That's why they wrote the Mahavamsa in Pali and Mahavamsa clearly states that the Vijaya and 700 outcasts came by Boats to the island 🏝️.
Read History properly and come back.

@@user-tm2fy5mi1i Wake up and come to the present. If you have a passport that is issued by Srilanka. Currently this country is known as Srilanka. Currently Sinhalese Buddhists are the majority in Srilanka. If you dig the history all Christian Srilankans are not Christians, as well as Muslims who migrated from South India. There was Chola migration during Chola empowerment. Also Pandiyas got mixed with Sinhalese. If you look at burghers their ancestors were from Holland and Portugal. There are Malay Muslims too. In addition during British period there was South Indian mygration. You have to live in the present. That's how these Tamil Politicians mainly Yalpanees provoked Sinhalese community making their silly arrogant statements and created riots, then their terrorist activities followed to destroy the remaining Tamils. Meanwhile majority of them even who were involved in Terrorist activities escaped illegally to western countries and India. Innocent civilians and brainwashed illiterate youths who were trained to be rebels lost their lives. Those who escaped are hosting their flags in those countries seeking for Eelam and begging international communities to help them to get Eelam, but their future generation will only come to enjoy their holidays not to live in Srilanka.
Even there is a belief that ancient Tamils came from Africa when these continents were together.
Why do we have to bother about old history and ruine our lives, corrupt the future generation to grow with arrogance and grudge against another community. We have to accept the reality not to live in the past and old stories. Yalpanees created clashes in between two communities who were living together united for decades in East, hope you remember those days, please stay away from Yalpanees and Thamil Eelam concept. These Yalpanees will destroy Batticaloa, they are so jealous of the prosperity of East.

You will be surprised but the word Mango derived from Tamil word manga(green mango). Man-palam(ripped mango)Proof: The English word mango (plural "mangoes" or "mangos") originated in the 16th century from the Portuguese word, manga, from the Malay mangga, and ultimately from the Tamil man ("mango tree") + kay ("fruit").
