- After a day at the beach in Da Nang, I head to the Dragon Bridge to watch the fire breathing dragon put on a show and put it out with a lot of water.

The whole Thailand and Vietnam series has been great.
Some people are curious on the dragon that breaths fire AND water. Vietnamese sees their dragon as a benevolent and brave creature that protects VN with its fire breathing while nurture VN with its water to bring life to the country.

Thank you for the videos from Da Nang. It has certainly changed from what it was like when I was stationed there in the US Army 55 years ago! My unit was located right on the beach. The people were as friendly 55 years ago as they appear in your videos. I worked at battalion headquarters. Once a week a Vietnamese woman would come on military business. She always brought us a plate of cookies. It has been wonderful to see how the area has changed and been developed.

The hotel you stay at is very special, designed and built with materials combined with bamboo. Many trees are planted in front of the hotel and have a very beautiful sea view.

Vietnam is now considered a potential ALLY of the United States, especially in the geopolitical context of the territorial disputes in the South China Sea. We share important strategic interests. U.S. trade with Vietnam was more than $130 billion in 2022 alone. The trade provides large export markets that benefits both countries. Also, the U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) went to Da Nang for a scheduled port call on June 25. It was the third time a U.S. aircraft carrier has visited the country since 2018. This is evidence of the strengthening relationship between the US and Vietnam.
