Good research and i got to know an entirely new story through it. Congrats to the team for the amazing work. I never knew mace and nutmeg come from same fruit while knowing these two since my childhood whenever maa cooks biriyani or tehari!

The Kerala people come for Pollachi variety is not that true rather Kerala has it's own varieties which are sourced by other states like Kerala sree and Vishwa sree developed by ICAR IISR Kerala which produces spices equivalent to 36,000 rupees on average from a single tree in a year over 15-20 kgs of produce. Now, price depends upon your selling source whether online, offline or export

Spice sector farming is getting good profits margins for produce ....
Cos it has very High demands for dealy need and very less area available having suitable environment for getting good produce ....😮😮😮
Now the even indian farmers also by using corporation collective buildup......😮😮
By cutting all middle man they earning huge money for their spice products..😮😮😮😮..

This is a 12 minutes video to answer a question that only requires a few lines to answer :
Their product is expensive because they haven't modernized. They depend on labor instead of automation. That is why they are dirt poor and, in the words of Radiohead, they did it to themselves.
