Are GORETEX motorcycle jackets really waterproof? We put it to the test in this video where I am wearing my Klim Carlsbad jacket. #adventuremotorcycle #motorcyclegear #goretex
I love gortex. When In the Army I learned how valuable it is. On the other hand, my current ADV gear for my big trips has the eVent material. It’s like gortex but breaths better. It’s still as waterproof but not as insulating. So a good base layer is needed with anything using the eVent material if it’s fairly cold out. It’s a little cheaper as well.
@@AusMoto That's weird, probably some trade thing with the dern governments. It's a tad cheaper, here anyway, so it's worth it if it ever comes available.
Having owned a 2015 Klim badlands jacket for a little over a year now, I can confirm Gore-tex while expensive, is worth the money you pay for it. My jacket is well used and I bought it second hand but it's still as waterproof as the day it was new. I've ridden in 20-50m rain storms for hours at a time and the only water that got in was around the wait, through my pants which were not gore-tex. Those that might see it from an outside perspective that it's a shill and Klim is just a name. You don't know what you're talking about ;).
Fortnine did an awesome breakdown on gortex fabric and how it's just a fancy name now. Nothing overly special over other fabric.
Yeah, I did like that one
Explains his channel perfectly as well lol

I was looking at that from RMATV but it’s so hard to get your hands on it here in AUS

Great review!
Thank you sir!
Goretex Is awesome stuff I reckon!
I bloody love it, just gotta get the pants!
What size is the jacket
It’s a medium - I’m 75kg and 178cm if that helps. I probably could have gone a small but nice to have a bit more room.
Ha ha nice day for a walk. Now for the extreMe test, 120kph on the super bike on the hwy lol
Haha now that’s a good test idea! 🤣
Shoulda gone with the goretex socks bro
I got some haha 🤣
