Using crit/mastery gear I actually created a build without needing to cast a single bolt - ditched all chaos bolt related talents and put them into buffing incinerate with shadowburn and conflag and it deals the same damage but casts twice as fast and vs mele trains the backlash into buffed incinerate basically works like instant chaos bolt, followed by shadowburn that is also instant and does the same dmg as chaos bolt so you are basically instant casting chaos bolts, but none of the spells is called that way
They need to do some different with chaos bolt, otherwise this is how pvp will be. Too many, stuns, interrupts, cc, micro cc, it just doesn't work to hard cast anymore with how crazy they have made most melee and other casters.
destruction was S+++ in MOP, now it doesn't seem like it's high tier to me. The damage, despite the 5% buff, is too low, compared to spells with a rather long cast time. Instants also do too little damage compared to health pools. There are casters like mage frost who are totally out of control and will annihilate you without even having to cast a single spell, without considering their survivability and mobility
Chaos bolts hit for the same as in dragonflight except ppl have 8x as much hp lol. I just cant get into destro. Maybe once we can have enough crit to make soulfire plau like they intended
And then you have 2mil shadowbolt crit. I am playing affli right now, but I am not really enjoying the actualy playstyle. I wish destro was a bit stronger. I see the damage, but is more sustain damage than kill potential. If you manage to cast bolts, you should be rewarded. Instead its like being in cc and just do 700k out of it ahahah
jaggz do you ever play Bane of Havoc in BG's? I had a few Bg's where it gave me huge value. things like 3 sets of 8+ Chaos Bolts in 1 activation. can you please lmk if it's worth grabbing or is it too situational?

We don't rely on chaos bolt anymore! Lots of instacasts/abilities check overall dmg, chaos bolt is ~5%! 🙏🙏
