The amount of tuition these kids pay to go to these schools is ridiculous and one or two at most probably getting a full scholarship to college. You have to pay 20K per year just to go to Jesuit High. More than double that to go to IMG. Crazy
Ok. Who puts out these “rankings”? IMG can’t be ranked number 1 in every sport just because they recruit good players. They don’t compete for state titles which is the main goal of high school sports. There are no high school national championship games because if there were we would see it on ESPN.
it is so fuggin annoying seeing these types of schools have nationally ranked top10 teams in every sport and it still doesnt even feel like youre watching a 'TEAM' play. it literally feels like a pro game where each player is playing for themselves and their stats. Yeah they're undeniably good, talented, etc. but it just feels like there is absolutley NO chemistry or team building going on. edit: I umpire high school baseball(among other ages) and I rarely see this outside of travel ball. its just not as common in IHSAA(official high school leagues)
Right fielder for IMG has a very weak arm. That runner should not have been able to tag from 2nd to 3rd on that fly ball. And tbh I think at this level and the college level these guys should be using wooden bats. But of course that’s a lot of money to waste because broken bats will be a norm. That’s the only reason they keep using aluminum in Varsity High School baseball and College ball. For both teams to be that highly ranked I saw nothing that impressed me really. They played extremely average of you ask me. I played at a very high level myself 2003-2007 and the talent I saw and faced in the Perfect Game Tournaments and 17U Junior Olympics was a way higher quality than this. My team the Miami Tigers came in 2nd Place at the Junior Olympics. We lost to the Arizona Sun Devils.
This was so bad....definitely not the No 1 team. So many errors and stupid baseball knowledge. I have watched several of IMG's games now and they are Average at Best
