I originally thought it was going to be more 303-ish in practice when I bought it, but it has turned more of a SH101 stand in with the way the sequencer works with slides + accent and sub osc.
@@space-skeleton Well the SH101 is my _second_ favourite classic synth, so I'm sold either way! But I see your point, in all the TH-cam holes I've gone down, the Avalon sounds smoother and more elastic than the other 303 clones. It's a mesmerizing sound to me. I haven't seen many people play up it's sub osc.
