Hi there mate. This is so good. I have just bought my Excel. I have subscribed to your channel and I have also followed "Big Rig" I am doing exactly the same thing as you boys. Building the excel from scratch and I have no idea what I am doing but I'm here for the ride and thrill of it. Haha.. I would to get in contact with you more often as I have no idea where to start. Today I removed all the seats and trims and carpet. Tomorrow I will continue getting rid of the sound deadening.
Hey mate good to hear from you :). Good timing actually I just launched a group on Facebook, head to the nugget project page on facey and it has a link to the group, myself and a bunch of others can give you a hand on there :)
Hmmm this is directly relevant to my interests... I'm planning to join the excel series up here in Qld but I'm relocating to Adelaide within the next few years, so it'll be good to see the regulation differences between states (e.g. we don't have control suspension, but we do have control tires and brake pads). Anyway good luck with it, I'll be following on intently :)
No worries mate, I'm limited on space currently so I don't even have a shell yet, but sooner rather than later I'll have a garage that can hold more than one car at a time :D
How do I find the Offset of my 15" rims? Mine are 8-Spoke 15" CSA Motorvatr Alloy Rims, though I'm unsure of their Width (whether they're 6.5" or 7") or Offset. They DO have the correct Tyre Size for the CAMS Series, being 195/50-15's. I think the Offset may be incorrect though as the inner tyres rub on the Rear Trailing Arms, so idk if they're suitable Rims? 🤔 They must be 6.5" as CSA don't have any 114.3mm PCD 4 Bolt 15" Rims in 7" from my searching. 🤔 What I really need to find out though is their Offset.
Hey mate, most wheels will have markings on the casting on the inside, 6.5j means it's 6.5 inches wide, the offset isn't always marked on the casting but if it is it will be marked as 38ET or whatever the number is, easy way to figure it out is to measure it yourself, there are heaps of youtube tutorials on how to measure it yourself, i just had a quick search then and found this one: th-cam.com/video/L19eoOX58R4/w-d-xo.html
@@narayanacooper8571 all good mate! good luck, honestly it can be a right headache, finding the right offset for my soarer gave me the shits, i ended up jsut taking my shop jack and trying one on hahah
I subscribed before even watch 10". And this is a cool project. These first model accents were far better from '99-. The '00 were just awful.Bad brakes bad steering.
In a later episode I change out the rad to a new factory style one but no need to change them on these cars the cooking system is really good, the car gets a bit hot sitting on the dummy grid but as soon as it's out on track it cools right down and I rarely see temps over 80 - 85 degrees when racing :)
@@TheNuggetProject ok thanks for that mate was just needing to know if I need to spend money in an alloy radiator that's 2 core or stay with standard one
@@CooperHarris045 Same way everyone does man, order through your local shop or these days you can buy pretty much everything online!, trust me buying parts shouldn't be your biggest worry about entering into this madness haha. The good thing with this car is parts are easy to get from just about everywhere and now so many are raced you can buy all the race parts online :)
Naw, can't you/we have tinted windows for racing? Mine has some tinted windows and looks sahweet with them. I was wanting to keep the tint. 😔 Oh well, looks like once I move into a place with a garage I'll have to buy a 2nd car to build my racecar, then? 🤔
Very keen to watch this build I'm at work doing nothing and watching
Well you've got a lot of episodes ahead of you mate hope you like them :)
About to go pick up our $200 Twin cam from a pensoner, keen to see where this goes.
Oh hi doggy... Yessss I love a tasty nugget! Good stuff. I'm watching with interest. Love that your co-driver sounds enthusiastic too! 💀👍
Haha, yeah she's a good egg :) Cheers for watching mate :)

We can only hope :) keep me i the loop on how your build is going :)

You can NEVER have a big enough garage!

Cheers mate :) well honestly, they are all shopping trolleys but it's fun to see what you can make a shopping trolley do on a race track ;)
Hi mate have you ever done an upgrade to your radiator

Yeah cool, as long as it's in good condition I'd stick with a stock one and use that money elsewhere on the car :)
@@TheNuggetProject ok thanks mate
hey mate i got a question how do you get parts if your too far from where you need to get it from
@@CooperHarris045 I'm not too sure what the question is. Like, are you asking how you buy car parts if you live in a remote location?

you must leave the poobear sticker on ;)
Haha, i'd love to but unfortunately all the window tint has to come off and poo is part of the tint :/
