That's exactly my thought...a camera will tell all. I'm sorry this is happening to your family because you're gracious enough to help if someone actually needed food.
I strongly believe channels like The Veggie Boys should be used to teach kids in schools around the world the value of farming, growing their own food, family values, hard work and rewards at the end of a hard day. Thank you Andrew and family for this wonderful channel.
I am so sorry about the theft! It pained me to see the sadness and disappointment in your faces. Sending you all big virtual hugs, and an extra one for Grammy.
When I was young ran into a corn field grabbed some ears with some friend . Years later when I had a business and people stole little things from me I realized its the feeling you get from people stealing from you not about the item so much . I raised my children to under stand that . Even stop at road side stands to this day just to grab a little something to help support small farm families . Love watching this channel and it wasnt your corn or beets.
Imagine how the Native Indians and Mexico felt and feel because the land you say people are stealing from you, is the land that your forefathers stole, guess what, your still on stolen land.
What they harvest a field they don’t get everything the first time in the Bible he told them not to go over it twice to leave it for the poor and the animals. People don’t do that but it still hard to get it all we ride our horse near a field and they would eat the corn on the ground, also if the grass was long where we went they will eat a little as we walk though. It was like fast food on the go for them.
Poor grammy. Protect her at all cost. I totally agree with your dad. Stealing red beats are frustrating but leaving the ones you don't want on the ground for them to waste away is even worse. I hope you get some leads.
Hopefully, with the cameras, you’ll be able to bring this problem to an end! I absolutely loved your overhead video shots💜! It’s a beautiful thing watching wheat being harvested!
That’s not good! This is how you make a living! You need a security system in place, especially for your own sense of security. Motion detectors would make a somewhat of a difference. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love your videos!
I rented so land from a friend. He grew watermelons and I planted purple hull peas. We kept noticing someone was stealing some of his Mellon's and some of my peas. We felt the same if you just ask I'll give it to you. Hope things work out for y'all.
Hmm.. interesting to see that house construction going on back there. Also appears like the most red beets were taken starting from that direction. If there's a bunch of new houses being built and people moving in, I'd start watching that direction. I feel like your usual customers, neighbors, etc would never do that to you - but some new people moving in who aren't familiar with the area might just have the discourtesy to steal.
Or contractors/laborers. They can be the worst sometimes! We were going to our hunting property once and the road going in was under construction. They had a flag car so we had to wait at the end, right next to a melon field that the neighbor has. While we were waiting it was apparently shift change for the road crew, because a truck came down and picked up a bunch of guys, on their way out they pulled over and all 4 guys got out and walked into the field and grabbed a watermelon. When they got back to the truck my buddy yelled out the window "hey those arent free" and the one guy yelled back "we are making the road so they can get there, they are free for us". We swung into the farm shop on the way past and asked if they knew the road crews were all taking produce home with them, they were MAD and called the sheriff immediately. Those melons are 7 bucks each in the shop, they just took 24 bucks from the farmers pockets the one time I saw them do it. That construction had been going on for weeks, I bet anything they stole hundreds of dollars from the farmers before we saw them.
Sorry, to hear that you had this problem. We had our tomatoes all picked, while we all was gone to work. This happened a couple of years ago. We know how you feel. If your hungry, come to the door. We be glad to feed you.
In my area, we have this happen because a certain segment of the population believes that you planted those vegetables "to share". They will share anything on your front porch, clothesline or yard. I call them damn theives.
We seen that it was a deer doing your picking of your beets. That's wild...my husband said that they will do that. He also, said there is a product that you can get to put around your plants, to make them not like your plants. Doesn't hurt the vegetables. Sorry, I don't know what the product is called.
There are some cheeky people out there guys, sat up trail cams everywhere cause if they're hitting beets they'll hit something else. Things have been hard enough without someone robbing you. Hope it gets sorted. Be safe!! Loved the footage of the harvest!! My best to you and your awesome family 👍👍👍👍
Hope ya'll install Cameras.....yes I've had folks come up to me in grocery store near the end of the month asking me for food. I told them to pick it out and I will pay for it.....So much better if they would ask for the beets.....or better yet they plant their own!!! Grammie has a right to be mad!
Just saw your post about trail cams. Great Idea. Sadly our area is getting worse with theft and you need cameras everywhere. On the homes and in the yards. If you are that hungry just ask, most people around here are very sharing. Big hugs to grammy. I have faith they will be caught.
I had a 8 ft. Row of beets in my garden and they were about ready to pull and a fews days later. All were pulled out and gone except 1 and a close look at the ground revealed who took them and the tracks were deer.
After being so bummed out for the beet situation, the "fire in the hole" made a laugh when all the dust went everywhere. Looked like the festival was fun and it was fun to watch to the people dancing and the drunk guy in the front lol.
Thanks for sharing the good times and the bad. I hope you figure out who was stealing the Beets. The drone shots of the wheat harvest and the music was beautiful! Your family are such hard workers! Andrew, that was so nice you pointed out Broyans farm! Also a very nice youtube channel of a farming family that are working together like you are. They should get more subscribers.
I'm with Grammy, stay away from her beets! I could tell from past videos that those are her special crop. Andrew, your wife looked beautiful all dressed up🌺 That was an awesome music festival, glad you enjoyed it!
@@nicholeperry64 she's angry for sure! Grammy is the sweetest lady, but don't touch her beets! 😂Like I said, the family is so nice, they'd feed someone that's hungry. Just don't steal from them!!!

The beets fiasco is so frustrating. Hope you are able to resolve the problem with some kind of compensation. Your night out looked fun. Enjoyed the wheat harvest. Good weed control 😀.
I see, you are trying to change the mindset of farmers in poor countries. In your show we can see farmers lives are how much enjoyable. motivated. Respect you.
This happened to Luke from Migardener. He did a whole video about it because he was so mad. He told a neighbor they could come over and get a few things while he was on vacation. They destroyed his whole bed of beets. They didn't even take them all. Just dug them up and left them laying around. People can be so inconsiderate.
Be careful about offering a few things to your neighbors when you're away. They'll come over with shopping bags for everyone they know and get indignant if you try to suggest polite limits later. Same thing goes for the use of your garden hose. My next door neighbors would've filled their pool if I hadn't shut the line off in the basement. I got dirty looks for two years.
You have every right to be disappointed and upset. I'm sorry that happened. Sadly, from what I understand, there will be more food insecurity over the next few years. More people hungry. We need a program like the Victory Gardens. If everyone can grow something - whether they have a farm or an apartment patio - it would go a long way to to lessening the problem of food shortages. It was fun to see you at the festival.
I was always curious to know if anyone ever steals from farms since you can literally just walk up and take things. So disappointing. I'm like you, if ppl would just ask when they're in need, most times the answer will be yes. I hope whoever did this sees this video and feels bad.
Here in Norway where everyone has a right to have their belly full, most farm damage comes from nature and drunk people. Once was a drunk who killed a sheep with a pocketknife near me, and somehow managed to chop its leg off. Cause he wanted "roasted lamb leg" while very drunk. Teens can steal some strawberries/apples, but not a big deal really. Was really popular when i was young to go "Borrow some apples" for us to munch on. And for some reason it was allways more fun when you did not ask permission. Like one time we got caught and the guy owning the apples told us to just take as much as we wanted. The thrill kinda went away :P But i expect apple/strawberry theft has gone down since i was a kid, society has become alot richer since then. And most households can now afford so much apples and strawberries the kids can eat till they puke. Makes me abit sad that US does not provide the same neccessities for its citizens, considering its rich enough to provide them. I dont expect Sudans goverment to manage to keep everyones belly full, but a nation like US in 2022. I certainly expect it.
@@MrDanisve You don't know that they were stealing because they were hungry. As a matter of fact, with all the vegetables avaible to them, I doubt it was due to hunger. Beets aren't exactly everyone's favorite. And if they were that deatitute, there are plenty of social programs avaible to feed them, both govenment and private.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your veggies, have you been in touch with other local farmers? This may not be the only case of things going missing. Hope everything works out for you all, keep up the good work. Thanks for the great video content.
OMG... Guy's and Girl's I'm in such amazement at what you do your farm is amazing ...The work you put in the machinery the dedication the love of family and the land your animals it makes me so happy to see y'all's journey and be able to come along for it...Most would never get to see what really goes into running and owning a farm I enjoy the education ....Your making History and we appreciate it.....God Bless and I wish for you to have many bountiful harvest's....
We've had trail cameras stole during spring, a Christmas tree stolen the week before Christmas. If they are stealing beets just think about the sweet corn when that's ready.
In the old days, my grandpa would sit in the dark and hit theives with rock salt. (Years and years ago. 1970's) I agree with the 'if you are hungry ASK! I have been there. I'm not suggesting you shoot anyone, just praying that they stop stealing. The tomato plants look great Brian!
I see you got the idea to put up a game/trail camera! Perfect idea👏 You are the nicest people, if they wanted some badly, you'd probably share a bit, or give them a job to trade for them.
So sorry Grammie sending you hugs from Nairobi 🤗🤗🤗, it's not okay to destroy, steal crops and upset you and your family like this,I hope you get to the bottom of this ❤️, thanks Andrew for sharing date night 🥰🥰🥰 the concert was lovely ❤️.
Have learn a lot from your videos . So glad that family of this size get along well. The organizing of farm duties are exceptional. Will keep watching. Thank you
Love seeing all of the hard work you and your family put out. Sorry that someone or something would be stealing. I do agree with dad, don't throw it on the ground and waste it. If it was a "hungry" person I don't feel like they would be leaving said food on the ground. It's still sad though, no one should go hungry. Our deer here on the other hand... well they LOVE beet tops, sweet potato leave and the tops of green beans. (Thought about putting a motion detector on my sprinkler.) The high light was the barefoot twerk-O-nator @14:07.
WoW !!!! Everyone on the farm work hard to supply people with fresh vegetables and plants. It's sad that someone would do this to hard working farmers when they could ask. I'm glad you have cameras now KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK 😘✌️. I LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEO'S.
Every time I drive past a farm, I've often wondered if anybody is bold enough to pull over and steal the vegetables. Now I know. That's a shame. I can't say I'm really surprise. High food and gas prices will make law abiding citizens into criminals but stealing Beets? For shame!
These are crazy times that we live in. I hope you guys catch the thief sooner than later. Also, does anyone else get to drive the combine? Seems like it is always dad behind the wheel. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks for taking us to the concert. Enjoyed watching the wheat being harvested. I think it's time for a covert night op in the field, with some of the boys, so u can catch the thieves.
It breaks my heart to hear of someone stealing your produce. Just because you have plenty, it doesn’t mean it just ‘happened’…the amount of hard work, time and thought that you put in 365 means, to me anyway, you have earned EVERY beet and vegetable you grow.
It's "BEET-Foot", the red haired cousin of Bigfoot. The ones just dropped were probably because someone came outside and the person panicked afraid they might get caught? Also FYI in most states theft of agricultural products is a felony no matter what the amount stolen. Farmers have clout in the state house! If they get caught, I bet Grammy could straighten them out real quick!!! I know Bryan would let them work a few hours in trade for some food if they were truly hungry! No need to steal.
I just came in from working my crop, "stoop labor", at 9:30 in the evening. I don't think people understand how hard we work to grow food. I enjoyed the music in your video, especially the music at the party at the end.
Hey Andrew, I do know that deer will eat beets because they are high in protein. Just letting you know that tidbit of information. Love your videos and tell dad the fields are looking great.
My son-in-law had a hunting camp in Americus GA. He planted a nice-sized Veggie garden for when the guys went up to camp for acouple weeks. When they got there, all the corn and stuff had been harvested and there was a 4-wheeler trail leading through the woods. They followed the trail to where the woods opened up to the road and there was a canopy put up and the people were selling the produce 😆
I am glad you have some cameras up. Surprised you didn't before. I use them to help me determine what kind of varmints I have getting into the crops. I know a farmer who runs his feed corn along the road side and the sweet corn on the inside to keep human varmints away, in another put things that don't taste good near the road. For 50 years I have seen some crazy animal stuff. I want to keep believing this is an animal. Your dad said it bothered him that they were dropping food on the ground. In my mind, with a house so close, can't see a human going randomly around the batch and then dropping stuff. Seems they would hit a spot and stick as many in a bucket and run. Least I think they would. Deer, rabbit and voles would go for the tops...least near me. But actually pulling out the beet. The only two things I can think of in PA is a bear or a racoon. Is there any insect investigation in that batch? Both can dig for bugs. I know this is crazy, cause it was done rather neatly, but many years ago I was on a camping trip where the bear got into our cooler (yes it should have been locked in the truck...long story) and neatly opened the bacon packages. It was amazing, would have though a human did it. The other thing is water. I know my water veggies like cukes get hit hard when water becomes limited. But you guys have a pond...so...hmm Yeah I guess we all have to wait to see what the camera sees. I can't express enough how sorry I am this is happening. I have had lost hunters and hikers walking thru late at night. Even had state police twice, years ago, chasing some folks who bailed out of cars into the fields, one they caught near our house. So yeah it kind of breaks that feeling of safety. It comes back. You do know I come here to relax right not to worry about y'all? :) Be well.
SUGGESTION: Whenever the bandits get caught, instead of them getting arrested for their dirty deeds. Get them to do many hours of farmwork on the farm to be compensated for your loss. This will help them see all the toil and trouble that's put into farming and it will also help them to be able to help themselves for the future.
That’s too bad about the beets, reason to be concerned 😧. Hope by now mystery has been solved and taken care of. Fun music festival thanks for sharing.
Woah, woah! How lucky are we to get to come out for Date night :D That sounds like a fun night of music. I hope the bad news beet thief doesn't strike again. Send over some hugs and better wishes to Grammy. ♥
That sucks you guess need to get some cameras!!! No other way about it, you can get them for cheap and see what's going on your phone. Trail/hunting cams work too.
You aren’t seeing any foot prints? Not cool at all. Time to stay up, and load some rock salt. Nothing worse than a thief and I absolutely believe if someone came to you for food, you would take care of them. Always watching from Panama City Florida, USA. 🇺🇸 No Snow Just Breeze !
Hey Andrew, man that is disappointing for sure. I found your channel from Logan on Broyans Farm and we lover the channel. We are on a small urban homestead in central Texas. We moved years ago from a 115 acre homestead because we decided as we get older we want to work less and travel more. We have been gardening and growing here for over 30 years and started our channel to show how we have been growing in the extreme Texas heat. We enjoy watching how yawl plant, harvest and grow on a large operation. Glad you and Logan got to hang out. God Bless you and your family. Mike & Rochelle
Sorry to view the suspected stealing of crop vegetables. Andrew I’m sure if they say you about helping them you’d be very generous and look after them.
We put up a trail camera after we picked up the beets. We will find out soon
Might be a bear..!
I was going to say get a trail cam good im glad you did
Glad you installed a camera. Maybe a guard dog?

We need a program like the Victory Gardens. If everyone can grow something - whether they have a farm or an apartment patio - it would go a long way to to lessening the problem of food shortages.
It was fun to see you at the festival.
People stealing that many beets aren't just eating them. they are sharing them. If they were just eating beets, they'd be sick of them!
You can see the positivity in Tracy’s smile
I was always curious to know if anyone ever steals from farms since you can literally just walk up and take things. So disappointing. I'm like you, if ppl would just ask when they're in need, most times the answer will be yes. I hope whoever did this sees this video and feels bad.
Yep. And pastured animals disappear too. It is always worse when food prices rise.
@@diceportz7107 yup! That's true.
Shoot at them. That’s trespassing & theft at their home.
The thrill kinda went away :P
But i expect apple/strawberry theft has gone down since i was a kid, society has become alot richer since then.
It is such a joy to watch you and your family working so nicely together. Your videos are so wholesome. Thank you.
There's only one person you need to call when there's a beet thief, Dwight K Schrute :)
Love love the music and pro angle of this video. Wow! heart warming to see a harvest coming in.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your veggies, have you been in touch with other local farmers? This may not be the only case of things going missing. Hope everything works out for you all, keep up the good work. Thanks for the great video content.
deer , bear or kids. not people looking for beets.Hello! People steal beets they dont make a mess. Ask how I know
Yes we have
You’ve captured some fabulous camera shots today. I do hope you find your beats thief. Have a great night out.
There is no excuse for stealing....period! I hope whoever did it will be caught and is taught a lesson.....maybe pick peas for a week!
I am so sorry to hear that. I didn't think that in that area you would have that kind of problem.
The contrast between the wheat and corn is pretty incredible. Kind of like a painting!
We've had trail cameras stole during spring, a Christmas tree stolen the week before Christmas. If they are stealing beets just think about the sweet corn when that's ready.
All your vegetable rows have almost no weeds, looking good 👍
In the old days, my grandpa would sit in the dark and hit theives with rock salt. (Years and years ago. 1970's) I agree with the 'if you are hungry ASK! I have been there. I'm not suggesting you shoot anyone, just praying that they stop stealing. The tomato plants look great Brian!
Kathy, you made me feel old......years and years ago in the 70's .....lol
o ldman: Haha. I just thought the same thing!! 😃
How about paint ball guns? Bruise 'em, mark 'em abd repaint their vehicles.
(Thought about putting a motion detector on my sprinkler.)
The high light was the barefoot twerk-O-nator @14:07.
This is so good to watch for all ages. Very nice people doing what they love.
How come you did not talk about the best-tasting corn you ever had?
Best video so far
It’s not bad enough that they’re stealing from you, but that’s a lot of beets taken. And the waste🤦🏽♀️
For shame!
Aww date night without Callie! Awesomeness. Lauren looks so pretty.
I'm glad to hear you set up a trail cam,. I would be worried with it being so close to your aunts house
Thank for bringing us on your date. Would love to see that more.
It is a big deal. NO ONE has the right to steal! It is not theirs! I hope you catch them ! So sorry this happened to your family!
I just came in from working my crop, "stoop labor", at 9:30 in the evening. I don't think people understand how hard we work to grow food. I enjoyed the music in your video, especially the music at the party at the end.
Who eats that much beets to steal that many!! That's like two life times supply
This was very cool! Well, nice to meet y’all!! Off to the next episode! ❤️
Hey Andrew, I do know that deer will eat beets because they are high in protein. Just letting you know that tidbit of information. Love your videos and tell dad the fields are looking great.
Had the top eating off tops this is pulled out!!
But you guys have a pond...so...hmm
Yeah I guess we all have to wait to see what the camera sees. :) Be well.
“Stop growing red beets and buy from my farm, or I will keep coming back.” Cordially, Dwight Schrute.
Great idea!
well said!
That’s too bad about the beets, reason to be concerned 😧. Hope by now mystery has been solved and taken care of. Fun music festival thanks for sharing.
Security is. Needed on the farm -head on a swivel - more will be hungry - Stay safe everyone 🇺🇸✌️
No need for security I bet they're secured they just need Cameras
We are hoping it’s some sort of animal but we have cameras
And maybe some guard dogs!!! Some good farm dogs!
@@penderhippy Every farm needs farm dogs
We have cameras up
Amazing aerial shots!
Heck with rock, salt, #6 bird shot!
@@beckyumphrey2626 well Becky that’s what I actually have. I was being nice.
@@kirbygulbrandsen4507 000 buck shot is better...
Wheat harvest was spectacular! Thanks for the road trip, glad you all got a night off the farm.
