Let's be honest, under wwe the world title was a secondary belt at best it was a consolation prize. The only period of time it had great significance was during the early years of the ruthless aggression era specifically 2002-2005 and that was only because triple h held it and he was the top guy at the time. By the time the brand split was over the significance of the belt was watered down and was mostly used on mid carders, they were actually considering putting the belt on Santino at one point and I'm not knocking anyone of course, I loved Santino I was a huge fan of his work, just he wasn't world champion material in my eyes and the fact that they were close to making that decision made me know how vince truly felt about the title.
King Booker was a great gimmick anyone Remember that Backstage Segment with Cryme tyme Sharmell and Johnathan Coachman Booker T getting his wallet stolen and Booker breaking character was the icing on the cake that was absolutely hilarious it's like Booker had a split personality 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I could see Rob getting it. The company seemed behind him in 01 when he was working with Austin (to the extent that I remember reports that Heyman of all people thought they might have been pushing him too hard, plus I remember him having good chemistry with Taker, and the company seemed to be building to something bigger between them until Taker went to SD. Plus with no split, Taker and HHH are sharing a locker room, which I think might act as a check to the Reign of Terror and perhaps give Rob and others like him more of a fighting chance.
Daniel Bryan's World Heavyweight title reign is arguable too. Remember that it was his losing that title that caused the Yes Movement. JBL being WWE Champion was also, allegedly, the result of there being no other heel challengers for Eddie Guerrero. Brock Lesnar had just left, Kurt Angle was inactive as a wrestler (he was named the smackdown GM shortly after Wrestlemania XX) and Big Show was out with an injury. They didn't want to do a program of Eddie vs Undertaker. And Triple H "didn't want to work Tuesdays" as Paul Heyman so eloquently put it.
King Booker was way too entertaining to not go over. Going all in on the King of the Ring gimmick isn’t easy to pull off as we saw with WWE trying to recreate that magic with King Sheamus, King Wade Barret, and later King Corbin.
Regarding the Radicalz; Benoit was always the main eventer of the group. So, in a world where there is never a second world champion the odds are Benoit gets the title before Eddie.
I think Eddie would still get a world title at some point but it'd probably be for a shorter time. They put him over Brock so clearly they had some trust in the guy
I remember when they had all the champions in the ring for the ascension thing where they raised both belts for Orton vs Cena and wondering why Jack Swagger was there and remembering he was a world heavyweight champion
I agree with you on Christian. We have to remember that Vince didn't like Christian's face and had considered blocking it out on television, so no way would he have put the WWF/E title on Captain Charisma if there was only one belt.
When I was a kid I created a scenario in Smackdown vs Raw 06 where there was only 1 world title. So at Wrestlemania 21 Batista would beat HHH and then got injured like in real life. Cena would won at the Elimination Chamber and Edge would cash in like in real life. I kept this until Wrestlemania 23 where I made Batista vs Cena for the championship, I really think that would be the likely scenario if WWE only had one belt.
from 2012-2013 the world heavyweight championship was basically a glorified mid card belt because it was the championship secondary babyface/ heels won like Sheamus in 2012 and dolphin Ziegler 2013

Disagree, Mark Henry still feuded with Randy Orton for the WHC, though I think it started the decline of the WHC's prestige. When Sheamus, Big Show, Christian, Daniel Bryan, Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler were World Champs, it did feel like midcard B Plus players were the top guys.
The two marks voice that kept interrupting you in between segments was kind of annoying. I think you should limit that to just one or two entries in a list like this. That's just my personal opinion
I agree they are annoying and I usually do keep it to just one or two per episode. But I felt the need to really hammer home their purpose in this video since I was preemptively anticipating certain kinds of comments
From all the documentaries I've seen on TH-cam, RVD was being set up to be just as big a superstar as Edge or John Cena when he won the WWE title. It was rumored that he was going to have a pretty decent reign, perhaps a half year with the title, but his arrest for possession caused Vince to completely kill his push and drop his title to Edge.
The whc kind of downgraded to ic title level by the time the brand split wasn’t strictly adhered to. It became more of a test run for a “real” WWE championship reign .
I disagree with your opinion on Mark Henry. Mark is a very big guy, and, even though he's a bit cumbersome, so was Sid, who was WWE Champion TWICE during his tenure, even though he didn't really do much. I could totally see Mark getting the WWE title but only holding it for less than a month before dropping it to a babyface, most likely John Cena. Mark was a monster during his heyday, so I clearly see him becoming yet another guy that Cena would need to "beat the odds" to get the belt for the 12th or 13th time.
most of the wrestlers on this list deserved to be world champion (and have better runs) so my point stands that in WWE's post-attitude era climate, the brand split and 2 world champions is necessary. now more than ever i think. the only positive of having one champion right now is that the WWE is doing a good job of elevating both midcard belts.
Sounds like u weren't a big Cena fan. Personally I think he deserved all the championships he got, he was amazing, one of the greatest superstars in WWE history. I never understood why so many fans booed Cena when he was a face. I always marked out for him big-time!

I've always called the "World Title The Smackdown Title. And SD was its own Universe in my mind and because SD was always seen as the "B" show whatever that actually means. And also RVD is f##ing Overrated. Yeah I said it.
I'd say Eddie Guerrero would've been WWF World Champion if the WWF only had 1 World Championship because Vince saw more potential in Eddie because of his technical skills, good on the mic, charisma, and connection with the fans, especially the Latin demographic he was bringing compared to Chris Benoit who was a good wrestler but bad on the mic and no charisma.
I really enjoyed this list. I look at the old WWE Raw World heavyweight title as a "second chance championship". There are some of these wrestlers that only won this title and not the other , the Smackdown! WWE World title. I really don't see it as a terrible idea, but actually a great one. Even when they relaunched ECW, I thought it was okay. I think they should've kept Raw and Smackdown! belts on their respective brands. I think it kept both shows more interesting and entertaining.

I always viewed the WWE run of the Big Gold Belt as what the IC Belt should have been. Triple H could have elevated the IC title instead of feeling the need to also be World Champ when they did the brand split. Instead, he devalued the Big Gold Belt at the end of it's run in the business.

@@DaveKnowsWrestling I stand corrected. I thought he won the Wold title in some stupid gimmick match on Smackdown and was declared the champ and lost it back like 30 second later in the same match then I realized that it was Brian "Spanky" Kendrick.
Let's be honest, Booker T was one of the most overrated guys in WWE over the past 20 years.
I can't possibly see how you arrived at that conclusion. It's almost as if "overrated" and "let's be honest" are empty statements that don't provide actual insight and can be applied to anything. Booker is not the most decorated wrestler and nor does he appear very highly on rankings list by WWE. So where exactly has he been overly rated as you say?
