- La bourdonnais (gov Mauritius) brought the French navy to help dupleix
- English took support Anwaruddin (Nawab of Arcot/carnatic)
- French took support of Chanda shahib (bro inlaw of anwar)
1746 - Battle of Adyar
-French vs Anwaruddin
- Small French army under ct. Paradise defeat large army under Mahfuz khan
- French captured madras
1748- treaty of Aix la Chapelle
- French gave madras to English
- English gave French territory in North America
This war proved:
- Superiority of modern European armies
- importance of Navy in south

1748- Nizam Asaf Jah 1 of Hyd died
- son Nasir Jung becomes Nizam
- Muzaffar Jung claims throne as Mughal appointed him as Gov of Hyd
Car succession war
1748- Chanda shahib released from Maratha captivity
- Chanda claims throne of Carn
French support - Chanda & Muzaffar
English support - Anwar & Nasir
1749- Battle of Ambur
- Anwar killed by french joint force
- Nasir killed by noble
- French backed Nizam & Nawab succeeded
- Dupleix power at its height
- Anwar son Md Ali seek British support to capture Arcot
1751 - Clive captured Arcot with 210 men
- Defended it fot 53 days from Chandas 4000 army
1752 - Mysore, Tanjore, Maratha support Clive attacking Chanda & French in Trichinopoly & Kaveripakkam
- Chanda killed
- Md ali became arcot Nawab
1754- Dupleix recalled to French
1754 - Treaty of Pondicherry
- Eic & french agreed not to interfere in Indian affairs
- Both will hold their own territory

- Eic retaliated drowning ships in masulipatnam
- Eic defeats French and expel from Bengal (Chanernagore, kasimbazar, Balasore)

1759- EIC capture Northern Circurs from Hyd Nizm (Masulipatnam)
1760 - Battle.of Wandiwash
- French heavy defeat
1761- EIC capture Pondicherry
1763 - Treaty of Paris
- French allowed to keep factories in Pondicherry & Chandernagore but no military exp
- French power demolished in india
Reason of French defeat:
- Superior commercial & navy support of English
- french got support from Deccan but british had strong base on bengal
- English has 3 major ports: Calcutta, Bombay, Madras. French has - Pondicherry only
- Lack of support from French govt
- Difference of opinion bw french generals

One correction. Chanda sahib did not help french in first carnatic war. Only Governor of mauritius did. Chanda sahib was released in 1748 after the first carnatic war happened. So he helped french in second carnatic war.

2:28 sorry to say but there were marathas in tanjavur before shivaji maharaj's campaign.
Shahaji maharaj was much influential in South India and the son of his second wife Vyankoji (Ekoji) captured tanjavur before shivaji's expedition. His descendants ruled Tanjavur while shivaji's descendants ruled swaraj.
