This is nonsensical and is propaganda I am not saying Mahipal is spreading propaganda but the mainstream history is like that because it is written by brown sepoys/congress/muslims. Muslims identity is muslim only they never identify themselves with any state or country tribe. The khilafat movement was a very small opposition Gandhiji ensured that it is made as big as possible this later ensured that mulsim leaders cadres are formed which ensured rallying muslims via this leaders to kill hindus and sikhs on 1947 partition time
Tialq and annie basent led home rule league in 1917. Later home rule league split in two parts. madras home rule league operate by annie basent and pune home rule league operate by bal gagadar tilak .

New Facts that i learnt from this lecture :
1) Khilaafat movement finally ended with the ousting of This Post, in Turkey only.
2) Non- co-operation movement was 1st started by Gandhiji himself.
3)Formation of Provincial congress committee on linguistic basis (1920).
4)Khadi represents patience
It was a religious movement
Home Rule movement :- Between the years 1916 and 1918, the Indian independence movement witnessed the growth and spread of the home rule movement spearheaded by leaders like Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Annie Besant.
