Same, this car is gorgeous (at least for me) and it has a impressive out-of-the-box performance, and all of that because of the philosofy of "lightness over power". Such a shame that not everyone appreciate this car as it deserves...
Underrated in terms of what, sales? Who the fuck wants to pay 100k for a slightly faster Miata? If you have that kind of money to blow, you'll just buy a pricier gt4rs and have a million times cooler and faster car.

@@tridentmediaprod with a stock cayman you won t have that amount of performances. I had a 718T, and had to do a tune with a downpipe, sport cat 100 cells and remap to get 392 hp and 0 to 100 in 3.7s and 100 to 200 in around 9 s. That s almost the performance of the Alpine stock. The Alpine is only 1050 kg and the Cayman is 1350 kg. The top speed of the Cayman is higher tho stock vs Alpine. And also bear ind mind the taxes. In France the base Cayman has a taxe on top of the car of 40 000 Euros. The Alpine only 4 000 Euros that makes the Cayman easy more expensive. OK it is only in France but still the base Cayman nicely spec is much more expensive and you have to add 5000 Euros to the same tune I had.
That's a really good 100-200 time for only 300hp, especially the 1.8 renault engine that does 15 seconds in the megane rs trophy, great job!
Again, the weight is a critical factor. Weight and power always need to be taken into account. Power alone does mean anything. The Alpine is only 1050 kg!

Very limited production run also the US car laws are very different to those here in Europe so as I’m sure you’re aware many of Europe’s special models aren’t able to be sold in the US

Pretty decent shuffle for the specs. Seems like it makes good, consistent power (via the dash info at least).
I want to say it was round about 10 or so years ago, there was a video of a prototype Alpine in blue with an absolutely amazing exhaust note on youtube, like Top 5 straight six in my book. I'm going hunting, wish me luck!

Thanks for the effort bro and for sharing. I m gonna check that right away. It may sounded even better few years ago. In the meantime, those crappy regulations about pollution kicked in and the exhaut got most likely way more muffled than back in the days during the prototype test.
@@StefBelgium I hear ya there, no pun intended. Europe, what I gain from reading and videos of course, is going extra commie on car mods in general; maybe too strict location dependant.
On the flip side, I have a neighbor that blasts my house with his crappy truck exhaust several times a day that sounds like wide open garbage. It absolutely has to be illegal on noise restrictions, but why he is able to elude fix-it ticketing or an overdue court appearance... 🤷♂🤦♂ If it sounded decent I wouldn't care, but for the love of all that is holy, muffle that sh!t!!

Porsche, it has an amazing NA boxer 6 and it’s MR. High revs, impeccable throttle response and fun revving. Plus I can have it with or without a top. Let’s not forget just how much easier it is to get parts and services done on it. Audi dealers can service a Porsche. How many dealers are in the Alpine dealer network?

CO2 émissions are very low. In France this penalty is 2600 €. A Porsche 718 between 40 000 et 50 000 €.
If anyone is wondering, THIS IS A RENAULT (in disguise), so deal with it! Top notch sportscar!
In a way all Renault Sport sound similar which is owed, I guess, to the small engines. And I believe they all use sound generators to some degree, and this one is no different. However, with this one the "backfire" noise gets enoying quickly. Kia or Hyundai do sound way better, I have to admit (while driving a Clio 4 RS Trophy @ 260 HP).

It does well actually. All A110R are sold out, and the "not full carbon stupid expensive" model is booked up to 7 months.
