I love the pursuit! Today I received Galaxy 5000 CIB and The Untouchables with the blue label/box. Last week I picked up the black label/box of the Untouchables. That puts me at 861 cartridges with 518 in the box with manual.

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. I totally get what you were saying about holding a game box that you played in your youth and hearing the music.
It literally transports you to when you played that game.
I was born in 1985 and grew up playing a lot of these games.
And while there are some really amazing modern games today , they don’t make them like they used to.

When you start to speak around 25 min mark I just remember that I never had a console. I only used to play in my cousin's house on a fake or hacked familycom that comes with 100 in 1 games something like that (Not original that comes with also fake . Then my elementary days we used to walk around 300 plus meters from school after lunch just to play on a rented SNES(this one's original by the way). Probably the favorites on SNES and is available to play was Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 were kinda new or newly released at that time i think. Killer Instinct was great too and one of the popular ones with TMNT. Then I was in highschool a classmate and close friend until now let me borrow his Nintendo pocket. I used to play Zelda:Link's Awakening. From that I also shared the game with 2-3 other players,haha. It somehow helped because that time Zelda as on another level of game and feels like a hard riddle for me. They share to me to overcome or unlock the walkthroughs that i cant figure out. I played it so much that when im bored I just speed run it around more or less 5 hours i guess. Later on then came years after Playstation and the era of PC dominated until now and ever since the gaming houses where you rent to play game shut down sadly. Wow for a moment it almost hit me hearing you sahred your childhood. My heart just missing those time but also thankful for the experience from Nintendo. Sorry for my english btw in case someone will read this.
When riff is going thru his collection and catching those old school vibes made me feel exactly the same about playing ps2 guitar hero 3 with my mom before she passed away.. Now i cannot find it anywhere in canada and with my financial situatuon is very hard to purchase everything. So hearing all the songs gets me all teary eyed and also frustrated because i cant get my hands on it.

Guys, I loved this video. I'm from Brazil and here Nintendo took a while to officially arrive. However, before Nintendo arrived we already had video game clones. And at the time I was introduced to this wonderful world of 8 bits. I can understand how magical and a little sad the nostalgia that these games present is. Collecting all the games is a huge challenge, I'm excited to see how far you guys get.

I would make 26 piles one for each letter of the alphabet then alphabetize each pile one by one then put the piles back on the shelf in order. Should be a efficient way to organize your games alphabetically.

In my experience get the more expensive games asap before they go up higher. Get the cheaper games slowly.

I know it’s Gabbo’s thing to sign the games but man, it makes me cringe to see that everytime. It’s like destroying history! Nothing like an NES cartridge.
You and I with the music, I also get emotional at times mostly for N64 games like Conkers BFD Mario kart 64 and smash bros 64 music mostly because all 3 of my brothers and me would play for years back in the day and now that one passed away another is in prison these songs remind me of the days when we were all together

I understand exactly what you mean about the deep feeling of nostalgia. There are certain things that spark the feeling. For me, one of those things is watching E.T.. There house is so unbelievably 80's. The furniture, the cabinets, the brick for the fireplace....... gotta love the large brown Adobe bricks. Even the look of the house exteriors. Takes me back to being a kid.

I’ve done this before too… But the problem with organizing them in alphabetical order is now you’re gonna have to shift all of them as you add new cartridges. It’s unfortunately going to create more work because you’re going to feel the pressure to keep them in alphabetical order. Good luck, my friend.
