Myanmar fact! The white/yellowish paste that you saw on some of the women and children's face is made from ground bark and called thanaka. It is mainly applied to the cheeks and nose and along with its cosmetic appeal being a tradition of the Burmese culture (also seen in parts of Thailand) it is also an anti-fungal, prevents sunburn and even provides a little cooling sensation when applied. Yay culture!
I'm one of the local and it's great to see documentary video about my own country by the other. thanks for visiting to our little unknown country and making a video about it. ^ ^

Please take Steve with you for the Series 3! I know it can be hard to travel with four persons, especially on a budget due to getting rides etc, but that would create a new challenge for you. You could also play a game where you split in two teams, leave from point A and agree to meet on point B a week/few weeks later. The catch is which team gets there cheaper, in true Budgeteers style. ;)

That dish at 6:00 is so good. Only paid like 30 cents usd for mine. I accidentally handed the lady what would have been $3.00, but she was kind and nicely returned the change. I would have never known.
We miss our peaceful country (Myanmar) very much. We miss that time. 😭😭 Now our country and people are suffering a lot because of brutal military. We are losing our freedom and hopes everyday. Also lost happiness and peace. #SaveMyanmar

I am an American backpacker, much older than you guys, though (61). Very nice scenery, and those Burmese women are beautiful without even trying to be. I see you guys like to drink beer. I did also until it messed up my stomach. Now I might have to go in for an endoscopy. Go easy on that stuff.
This channel was a huge motivation for my own travels, yesterday I bought my very first flights, I'm going to spend three weeks in Azerbaijan, and then seven weeks in Mozambique. I'm utterly terrified but I'm also really excited to start my own adventures and film them. Love the channel, bought a T-shirt, can't wait for season three!
Much appreciated guys, an out of the way travel. We're visiting the country by end of this year or beginning of the next depending on how we're doing in Vietnam and Laos.

Amazing how those kids are entertained by a shoe and a water bottle. My 1.5 year-old has a house full of toys that he gets bored with 🙄 lol. Also, the food looked amazing!
I remember back when I was 3 years old my older cousins made me a home made car with can and bottles and string. I forgot how to make them now. It was a great toy I have. I am from Myanmar chin state.
