Thank you! This allowed me to feel comfortable in my practice. I just discovered your channel and I've already subscribed I'm looking forward to learning more from you
Great, Jude. You could also talk about how to remedy two different and opposite obstacles to shamata - sleepiness and over-excited mind. There are definite remedies that can be applied to both. Also, the vipassana you describe here is, to my mind, a kind of secularised version. True insight or vipassana meditation is examining and experiencing the true nature of reality, isn't it? Which is not about watching sensory sensation, but of allowing thoughts and emotions to arise and fall away, unhindered, without any conceptualisation or grasping of any kind.
After 5 years of sitting daily, often twice daily, I can notice no improvement in my happiness or any change at all. Have you done a vid about folks like me. I have experienced many kinds of energy s and panic attacks (they quit after a year) . I do have big problems with the instructions. "feel your body deeply without the overlying image"......I have never gone deeper than efforting to do the practice. Toward the end of my sit, the thoughts start popping up more and more. When I get up from a sit, It's back to the same default network. My faith in this stuff is slowly fading. How can I keep it up without noticeable changes of any kind. I do love your instruction.....I've heard it all before with all the books I've read.
Hey I would check out my video called Breaking Free from Stuck Patterns (or something of that sort) and let me know if that connects with you. I’d also suggest in general to explore other practices. Sitting still meditation is one type. Check out chi-gong or tai chi practices (can find many on TH-cam) and breathwork / pranayama.
@@BeingIntegrated Many thanks for that. Will check your stuck vid. I did have an enlightenment experience back in the day that lined up perfectly with the lit, so I do know the target. Mescaline with being alone. Might be my age...71
Thank God I found this video. I was confused on whether I'm doing it right or wrong for YEARS. You are a life saver.
