The 45 degree mark is used for offsets. There is a chart/table in the instructions that show where to mark the tube depending on the length of the offset, then you line up you mark with that top 45 degree mark.
Hi Fritz! Its a new dairy and milking parlour! Should have been there all week but only got there today due to breakdowns... They want to start milking on tuesday! Will be working all weekend LOL Its a bit of a nightmare job as its on a steep hill (they have to tow milk tanker with tractor sometimes!!!), and the condensing units, milk tank and icebuilder are all very close together so making linking them up difficult! Its got heat recovery going on it too but not worrying about that yet!
Not sure I understand the question. To get a bend in the right place I mark the pipe where I want the centre of the bend to be and then line it up with the corresponding mark on the benders.

The farm is about 1.5 hours away so i took some vids along the way there this morning, might take a while to post them as my camera software keeps crashing! Got it all piped today including the heat recovery pipework with nitrogen in! Just got to figure out the wiring and commisssion it...
I'll get it posted tomorrow if i finish early enough! Left it on pressure test overnight, will leave it in till i'm ready to vac and run it, longer the better! Not sure on the wiring, theres a box with a contactor and switch with no diagram where it goes or what it does! Think its to link the tank and icebuilder with solenoids so they don't try and run at the same time, might have to wait till monday when i can phone the manufacturers... :-)
Its for bending the pipe from the other side but when still want the centre of the bend to be where your mark is. Like normally you'd line your mark with the L but when there isn't room for the bender handle to swing so you put the bender the other way round and use the R mark.
Hi, you say you put cable ties on the former to take up the slack on 15mm pipe using a 5/8" bender. How do you do this and are the bends still accurate and land on the marked scale? Imperial benders like these are a third of the price of their metric versions. Cheers.
They cable tie trick works with a different style bender, the one with a separate guide which is pushed round by a wheel on the handle, you put the cable ties on the wheel to make its diameter bigger and thus move the guide closer to the former to allow for the pipe being 0.8mm smaller diameter.
It wouldn't fit in these as this is 12.7mm pipe, I have bent 15mm copper with 5/8" (15.88mm) benders but put some cable ties round the wheel for the guide to take up the difference.
Bahco make a metric version which is the Bahco 500 15 bender. They also make the 600 15 bender which isn't as good as it has a plastic former. Both are very expensive and very hard to find.
Thumbs up for explaining how the measurements work without mucking about! Cheers mate.

I'll have find the instructions out, think I have them somewhere!

Have you ever tried it on 15mm copper pipe?

Can't remember, but these will bend hard (half hard as its called here) copper.
