Man I took this song and the whole decade for granted......if you had told us country was going to change the way it did, no-one would have ever believed it.....
Traditional Country will always be the best music in the world! The Oppusum was near prophetic with his song: "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes?" The list is too long, but Doug Stone is on that list of great Traditional '90s Country that we took for granted then, but desperately want back!
What was so incredible about the time period of just absolutely country gold. It has shapped me into the man iam today. The songs tell a story and I've connected with so while since I was a youngin. Thank you Doug for implanting them country roots a little bit deeper. Country won't ever be the same
Yet another ultimate classic from the early 90's! Both this and Travis and Marty's "The Whiskey Ain't Workin'" are just a couple of my favorite jams from that era. :)
I worked for Doug for about a year and a half. I sang second part harmony and played acoustic guitar for him. He was one of the best guys I ever met in Nashville. He was ridiculously talented, and didn't even know how influential he was regarding country music.
I met him on his bus after a show he headlined at a local county fair in Antigo, Wisconsin, summer of 1991. I was the Afternoon Drive DJ for WDEZ-FM (Wausau, WI) at the time. Very gracious; pure country gentleman. 🇺🇸😎👍
Yep still listening.Remember you being interviewed on TNN probably Crook and Chase.Bought some of your CD's.Remember you leaving after having a heart attack.Glad that your still around for us Doug Stone fans.

I used to watch Doug performing at Gordon D's a long time ago. I would go in there with an Elvis impersonator named John and he'd be there. Last I heard, which was about 25 or 30 years ago, John had moved to Memphis.
What happened to country? Even his contemporaries, like Tim McGraw who is a great guy, has changed so much. I now only listen to golden country, which is now high school like this, God I am old.
Of course you'd know that. You're an alcoholic who drinks 30 beers a day, supports Donald Trump, have multiple DUIs, dips Copenhagen, works an entry level job at a factory, and cheers for Chase Elliott.

I can’t believe how good country music was at one time and I took it for granted. I didn’t love it like I do now. 90s country was the best.

They Cld. Just Don't Have Taste Anymore...Lol
Mandatory Sensitivity Training in the Country Music Workforce has put quite the kibosh on such pieces of music.
It’s about money these days
Because this song is awful
Doug Stone is real country music not some of this fake country music like they play today
You said it , paisano - no fugazi , absolutamente Veritas ❤
I listen to this whenever my country meter is running low.
When mine runs low life must be low
