The Amiga sounds amazing because, well, that's what Amiga did, if the musicians were not asses. Huelsbeck is a brilliant composer (check out his Apidya soundtrack on the Amiga).
Every time people pay these inflated prices they are helping to normalize this greed. Limited run games proved time and time again that collectors will pay inflated prices for some shelf junk from China. No surprise these guys are grabbing for all they can get.
You should watch theporkwizards review, they did some really cool, pretty cutting edge things with the emulation and options. There is a cheaper option in the original collection however I consider two part collection more for people who are really into speed runs and tweaking options and visuals. Give his video a watch, about halfway through he starts to tweak the hud and how much you see on and off screen. I was really impressed with what the programmers managed to do and hope more studios include the options with their ports. I get that it’s kinda a lot paying $80 for the entire collection but if you ever bought any of M2’s releases they can be $70+ for a single retro title ported to physical This guy really didn’t do it justice showing off the customizable options and settings
This shoulda been a single release for $29.99 as noted (personally I think it should be $19.99 max). If you're a casual retro fan and you're browsing the eshop, are you going to spend your money on all the classic TMNT games for $40 or these two Turrican collections? Crazy pricing.
If you're from Europe probably Turrican. But I agree about the pricing, I always wait for these kind of digital collections to get on sale (however, in this case I bought physical, because it's Turrican after all).
I actually thought there was a mistake in the shop because there were two different collections and then I just realize man these people have gotten insanely greedy. These games are amazing and I had them growing up very young wish I would’ve never sold them but there’s no way I would spend $70 this is STUPID
About to spend £8 on each digitally on sale… As much as I like these games, that’s about all I’m willing to hand over for these types of collections, especially when the publishers are using the greedy tactics they are.
As much as I love Turrican, it seems like they have inflated the price of this collection. Plus, I don't like them splitting it into 2 different discs/cartridges just to sell 2 collections.
Before I realized that Strictly Limited Games weren't going to be strictly limited anymore, I purchased both collectors editions and reproduction copies of Super Turrican 2 and Mega Turrican. Once it became clear that they were now Strictly Common Games, I cancelled my orders, and while I don't have this yet, I did get Mega Turrican for a reasonable price from a local store for less than what I spent on their website from that order.
I got the physical collection, but sure, you can get the original games instead. However, the collection has the interactive map as an added feature which is very handy. I feel I can explore every nook and cranny (and secrets) of the games for the first time.
I bought the flashback edition last year and the games are all classics and to me worth the £25 I spent. This collection has a lot of unnecessary filler and should have been one disc for £30.
I like the Turrican games, but this is crazy expensive. For that price, they should have thrown Universal Soldier in there (for some reason the Genesis got a version of Turrican 2 reskinned with the Universal Soldier license). Anyway, I'd recommend Gunlord X instead. Really good Turrican knockoff that won't break the bank.
That's a bit of an abomination though, as a Turrican fan I don't want that garbage in the collection. Having said that, they could maybe have add the C64 and NES versions of Turrican (and Turrican II for the C64), but I get why they didn't, the collection would have become too busy. After all, in the Castlevania collection they only threw the NES versions of the games.
Its a pity the original C64 versions of Turrican 1 & 2 by series designer Manfred Trenz are missing, but was tricky enough Factor 5 getting the IP rights on the 16bit versions sorted out. Still wonder if this belated release means the SLG Wonderboy Anniversary Collection will eventually get a digital release given its paywalled physical version is better than the ININ digital one!🤞😕
Gets me thinking on how if the games were sold as one, the price would be $69.99 instead of $59.99 which is where modern video game MSRPs are going. I'm sure they will go on sale once in a while, probably as low as $24.99.
I entirely agree that 2 collections has to be a money grab, I would have spent like $30 for all games on one disc and they should have included the C64 version of the original Turrican and the Game Boy version. New subscriber here!

I am very curious, in the audio option when you set music to CD Audio what exactly is the difference between [original remaster] and [studio remake]? I don't care for this practice. I wasn't with it with psikyo and I'm not with it with turrican. Whoever's involved with bundling these titles are as far up their asses as can be. I'm salty about it because I love me some psykiyo shooters and turrican is interesting enough to toss coin to, but not enough to toss this much. The current rights holders are shooting themselves in the fun gun if they're in it as a cash grab because this is not the way.
The price is higher probably because the Turrican series is not as popular as the Turtles. Cowabunga collection is a bit of a scam because there are a lot of duplicates. So I wouldn't count the game/money. For a person who didn't grow up with Turrican understandably it may not have value, but for a lot of Amiga fans it does, so it's definitely worth the money. Soon a collectors edition with physical media and collectibles will reach people. It's a bit more expensive, but it's no different than capitalizing on the love of retromaniacs with other products on Strictly Limited, or Limited Run.

Zero reason why all these games cannot be in one collection. Won't be buying this bullshit.
This is the super rip off edition, if i get it will be when they are on sale
Turrican... Meh
