I heard about Kawasaki when my son was 2 years old. 34 years ago. At that time the only cure was high doses of Tylenol to fight the fever 🥵. Is that still the same? And what other meds are working now? Afterthought, what causes Kawasaki syndrome?
wow that's a long time ago, I hope your son is doing well now! Other meds used now are IVIG [immunoglobulin] and high dose aspirin. There's still not an exact known cause behind Kawasaki disease, but it's thought to be due to the body's immune reaction to a viral infection, and it seems to be more common in under 5s - often the initial virus isn't found on tests
Hello , I’m sorry if this question is rude but has this particular patient been put for further investigations of ADHD ? Do we consider his movement normal for his age ? I’m asking for pure information not intending to be rude .. and Thank you for the video.
Roseola is a viral infection with HHV 6. Rash appears after 3 to 4 days of high fever. Kawasakis is a vasculitis of medium sized vessels with no cause.Roseola is harmless where as Kawasakis is harmful to the coronary arteries can cause aneurysm.kawasakis need hospital admission and treatment with IVIG and Aspirin.
I donate plasma so people can keep continuing to make these IVIG treatments
My now 5 yr old was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease at 6 months old,

What's the difference between Kawasaki's & Scarlett Fever?
Surprised a young child was put on Aspirin, thought that was a big no no. Though when I grew up there were no restrictions on Aspirin and children.
Aspirin can be given to children but on a prescription by a doctor, otherwise its a big no no as it can cause Reyes disease.
