I am writing a book and the opening scene is with the back-drop of the Women's Suffrage Movement - that is what brought me here ..... the song is what kept me here.
Great, great song and honoring of some of the unsung 'saints, humans, angels, friends' ~ mothers and courageous women who have indeed carried us this far. Thank You Earth Mama Joyce!
This song was the official theme song for the 75th Anniversary of Women's Suffrage celebration by National Parks Service and premiered at official events in Washington DC in 1995.
Wonderful, Joyce. Great song, great images. Well done. Will share this with Mike, Ben and Ruth and some of my good friends in the League of Women Voters. Keep up the good work. Susan Auslander, 83. Shoulders still stong for the next generation to carry on.
SOOOOO good to hear from you. You were one of the women in my heart as I wrote this song. You were first to introduced me to LWV. We are about to start chapter in our rural VA town. Let's talk offline--can you text me at Google or LinkedIn account? Thank you for your shoulders! You changed my life for the better. Love and hugs. Can't wait to hear update on all. Love, J PS. this is newer updated video th-cam.com/video/gjjKXuceRYQ/w-d-xo.html
On today, July 26, 2014, the day the Democratic Party chose as its nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton for the office of President of the United States, I thought this song to be appropriate. I never thought to live long enough to see this happen!
+Thorin Dębowa Tarcza 4ever Great Question! Thank you for introducing her name and history to me. There are so many amazing courageous women whose names are not as well known, especially to us in countries where they did not live. Believe me, it was very difficult to narrow down the choices of whom to feature for this short song! We will soon add a comment section to this page where you and others can leave the names of women you would like to see honored in this song and elsewhere. www.earthmama.org/standing-on-the-shoulders

My Unitarian Universalist Church had planned to use this video to open our service this Sunday as we celebrate Women's Equality Day, but - because of the distance between our router and our sanctuary, our internet streaming is not reliable. Is there a way I can get this video into my Power Point? That is, download it on my computer?
Love Jihad & Women's Rights Are people who are fighting against Love Jihaad advocating only a certain people should marry only certain people? No. Any person is free to marry whoever HE/SHE is willing to marry. It's a free World. But the problem here is, A Muslim girl marrying a Hindu boy, or a Muslim boy marrying a Hindu girl - The law system in India is such that Muslims are given an exception to enjoy the personal laws & these personal laws are in so many respects are Anti Hindu, they have not had the kind of reforms took place in so far as that of Hindu laws are concerned. This puts all the Non - Muslim women who choose to marry a Muslim - boy at a disadvantage. So Non Muslim girl if chooses to marry whether out of intention/fraudulence, A Muslim boy, she will loose the right to, (i) Property, the way she would had enjoyed if she were not married a Muslim boy, (ii) She will loose right to divorce, (iii) She will loose right to Inheritance, Succession etc. in ways she would enjoy if she has not married a Muslim boy.....
