Andrew, Your video series on the Solar Kiln build have been a blessing to find! I just built mine going off your build, even using Poplar I felled on the property to mill up all my material. Heck of a job you did there and Thanks for documenting it!
When is a kiln update coming? I’ve enjoyed watching this series and am curious about the floorboards and did you have to end up putting insulation in? Thank you for these! Oh yeah, your editing is great too. Not boring at all!!!
I'm just about done with the solar kiln build myself. I followed Andrews videos to build just like his even milled Poplar for everything above the platform which I had pressure treated 2 x 6s on hand to use. I think i'm going to get my solar fan setup for now and get a bunch of walnut and oak milled up and get set in there. With summer coming I don't think I will have an issue drying lumber without the insulation just yet. cheers!
@@boatrvme8478 thats awesome. my kiln is stuck around the 130 mark. I just finished insulating most of it and closing up the gaps around the doors. I think mine is suffering from a lack of sun until almost 11 in the afternoon due to trees in the way. next winter I see a nice set of box alders that will come down to give me another hours worth of morning sun. I would love to hit those temps you are getting. thats cookin baby!

if my 2 year old were out there helping me I would have to go and catch her from running off in the woods every 5 minutes and never get anything done.
Not to many people would admit a mistake but we all know if you don’t make whoops that yo not real
