Lumber is what your drying. Wood is what is in the log. Looks good to me👍styrene foam insulation would hold heat better. Plus a great starter planting green house. Good job. You also attach a chicken coop use the venting the heat to keep the chickens warm. Or as a defrosting LOL!!!

Tell your little girl she gets (A+) for being Dad's helper from a retyred shop teacher of 27 years in the middle school and 2 years in HS. you can get ancho seal through Amazon water born wax to seal the end grain and reduce splitting when drying.

Any updates on how the kiln is working for you? I'm thinking of trying something like this, but I just have an Alaska mill, so it would take me a lot longer to mill the lumber.
It’s working out pretty well. I don’t have great sunshine where I have it so it seems to take longer than it should, but I have dried 2 loads of wood so far. I just included a link to the fans that I used in the description. Thanks for watching!
Nice work! Question, why use fans to blow are in, why not put them at the bottom and use them as true exhaust fans to pull air through from top to bottom and exhaust out? So vents at the top, fans at the bottom? I'm planning to build one myself and struggling to understand why everyone is using them to push air in. Thanks!
It blows the hot air from the collector through the wood. Hot air holds more moisture. The top vents control the temperature by how much hot air they let out. The bottom vents control airflow.
Do you have a resource for your fans, solar panel? How have they held up this far, getting ready to install my baffler system and I dont generally like the box fan setup, Im really interested in the way you did this. Great idea.

How is it working? Are the radiator fans working out for you. In the process of building my own.
What size solar panels did you use and how many batteries? How long will the fans run on the batteries?
Watching this, I wonder if two fans are enough. Do you thins there would be benefit in adding an additional fan or two?

What are the dimensions of the Kiln? Nice looking set up.
11.5’ x 5.5’. Only reason it’s those dimensions is so I can get it up on a 12x6 trailer and move it if I needed to. Thanks for watching!
