A comparison between the language of the game. Some are great, some funny, some more epic and also amazing too. Tell me your favorite! :)

Just a note: in italian Ganondorf doesn't say "what a clever way to solve your problems" but "a solution worthy of a coward like you". Really changes the way Ganondorf sees Rauru in that moment
And then Rauru drops the bomb saying: "Don't be foolish. I know that I won't make it out of here alive."
At least that is what I can make out based on Spanish mutual intelligibility.

In French Ganondorf actually said :

Just like Italian, it adds another layer of Ganon’s hate for Rauru where he considers him a coward.
And fun fact, after dodging the weapons of the sages and yelling Rauru’s name, in French he adds "…prepare to die !"
As a French, I was definitely, really not expecting the french voices to be so GOOD

Spanish Latam translation from yours truly:
Mineru: "A long time ago, the Zonai, descendants of the gods, abandoned the skies and settled on the surface. With them, they brought atrifacts that could amplify the powers of their holders -- the secret stones. My younger brother Rauru, used the knowledge of the Zonai to guide his people and while doing so, he met Sonia, her future wife. Rauru gave Sonia one of the secret stones, and together they established a kingdom in those lands. The new monarchs decided to gave the name Hyrule to the kingdom they just founded. With the help of her inhabitants, they created a ppace full of properity. However, one day, tragedy occurred. An evil man rised from the desert. Ganondorf, the Gerudo patriarch, ended the life of Sonia and stole her secret stone. The power of the secret stone caused Ganondorf to transform into the Demon King. He created a monstrous army to conquer the world. The people of Hyrule defended themselves from the might of the monsters, but the evil power was so strong that it ended up cornering them. Rauru, with a plan that would allow him to turn the tide of the war to his favor, entrusted secret stones to powerful warriors, turning them into Sages and together were united to defeat Ganondorf. Rauru and the Sages had him outnumbered, so it would have seemed that they would end up triumphant. However... we had no idea how much the Demon King's power had grown. I couldn't resist his violent attacks... We had lost hope on reaching our victory. But then... Rauru decided to use one final resoruce.
Ganondorf: "How predictable! It's over, Rauru!"
Rauru: "Your pride will be your downfall, Ganondorf!"
Ganondorf: "You bind my heart and steal my magic. You try to imprison me. This trap is dignified of you, but you'll have to pay the price."
Rauru: "I don't care. I never expected to leave this place alive."
Zelda: "King Rauru!"
Ganondorf: "Even if 10,000 years go by, they will all pass in a whisper. Your sacrifice is pointless."
Rauru: No. You'll wait an eternity for someone that will be capable of defeating you. The wielder of the Master Sword: Link. Remember his name well.
Ganondorf: "Link? Interesting, I yearn for the moment to meet him..."
25:10 I really like how in the spanish versions, instead of "I know exactly what it will cost me", he says "I don't care. I never expected getting out of here alive"
Makes him sound more badass imo
But on the other hand, the English line shows that Rauru had the makings of a true king; one who would not hesitate to sacrifice anything, even his own life, if it meant protecting his people.
That's also in the french dialogue so that's probably something that was in the japanese version

3:30 Just noticed the sample of the clocktower sound, that's a nice touch.
I love how french dub are never 1 on 1 when it comes to the texts (to adapt to the lip sync), but always 100% accurrate when it comes to the meaning of the original.
Tbf, it probably would’ve been really time consuming to redo all the cutscenes with different lip flapping, especially in a game with as many dubs as this one.
I feel like this game has the best german dub of any video game.

Tilo Schmitz as Ganondorf is pretty much the perfect casting
@@ZeroJump Ganondorf’s German voice is also Cassim which is Aladdin’s dad in Aladdin & The King Of Thieves.
Italian Mineru VA is so perfect for her. You can hear her feelings in her lines more. Like the desperation when they got defeated and Ruaru's choice. Ruaru's VA is also incredible, you can truly tell his anger and pain in his final words.
In italian the whole confrontation has a slightly different meaning:
When Zelda recalls the weapons to Ganondorf he says "Too predictable" and when he turns around he yells "Rauru, it's over!" to which Rauru replies in the same way as the english version.
After Rauru hits Ganondorf, this is what they say
G: You bind my heart and steal my magic... Are you really trying to imprison me here? A solution worthy of a coward like you. But it will also cost you a lot.
R: You're a fool. I already knew I wouldn't have survived today.
Z: Your majesty!
G: Millenia will be but a blink of an eye for me. My victory is inevitable.
R: No. Years from now, a person capable of defeating you will appear. The wielder of the Master Sword, Link. Remember this name.
G: Link... Interesting... I can't... Wait... To know... Him.
Also fun fact: in italian, Rauru's name is Raul

That's so dumb but also just really amazingly funny, i've been joking basically since the game came out about Rauru sounding like Raul.
@@pigaboyAKAthecoolestguyonearth because in OoT they changed Rauru name in Raul, so, since they have the same name, they did it with this Rauru too
“Recuerda bien su nombre” honestly I didnt expect to both Spanish to be that good, the lines are awesome and the voice acting is immaculate, both Raurus were voiced so good

As a spanish speaker, the latam dub is excellent. Rauru in spanish is fire. I prefer British zelda tho.

I really need to give some credit to the German VA, I played the game with Japanese VA and German Subs and watched the cutscenes again in German and HOLY SHIT I love it! Usually the German voices are not really that good but here, I love how angry Rauru sounds and how everyone speaks like in olden days

In spain instead of saying "Remember this name" it says "Recuerda bien este nombre" that would mean "engrave this name in your mind"

Wow, Spanish is awesome
It's kinda weird that in the german dub, ganondorf says: ,,zehntausend jahre sind ein Wimpernschlag für mich" wich translates to: "ten thausand years will pass in a blink of an eye".
In the European / Latam Spanish dubs Ganondorf also says that over 10,000 years will pass by in a whisper and that his [Rauru's] sacrifice will be pointless.
Mercer is a great VA, but he's no Ganondorf. There's no intimidation here. Listen to how each Ganondorf laughs after Zelda calls out for Rauru. German/Spain are the top.
For a somewhat more English sounding comparison, compare the voice of Death in the Puss in Boots movie. That was one intimidating voice.

I will forever hold to the theory that when Rauru said the name Link and ganondorf says "interesting...I look forward to meeting him" and then later in the final battle he regards Link as a worthy foe it implies that this isn't the first time this ganondorf has fought a Link which also means that it is ocarina of time ganondorf. I swear in the new timeline they are going to completely change the doomed timeline.
