    For me:
    1- Japanese (good overall)
    2- Spanish LA (good but uses weird/unusual words)
    3- English (some character's feel plain, or like their voice doesnt match the character)

    • @bylezia9331

      In spanish LA Hyrule as "irule" instead of "jairul" due to in spanish we can't pronounce the H since is silent is one of them I take it?

      Pretty much. The original audio on anything will always be better, but this is especially true when translating Asian stuff.
      It’s such a different language, the way they formulate sentences is just so different that, when trying to translate anyone saying anything, it comes across as off-putting.

    23:55 best part
    I wonder how the bloodline even continued, since there's never any mention of Sonia having a child, nor Zelda in the past. Who's even the next ruler of Hyrule? The other sages still lived after Rauru, Sonia, Zelda, and Minaru departed, so who's the Hylian royal family even?

    • @byonemesis
      @byonemesis ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Considering that Zelda was involved in the past, maybe it went full circle? Or maybe I misunderstood something...

    • @Tom-xt1jn

      Maybe Minaru became ruler after Rayru and had kids? The only option I can think of

    • @Zac_Frost
      @Zac_Frost ปีที่แล้ว +28

      @@Tom-xt1jn Well, Sonia did say she could sense a blood connection to both her and Rauru from Zelda. It's likely their child was already born/grown, but not mentioned. Mineru couldn't as she got Gloom Poisoning after fighting Ganondorf under the castle.
      My theory is that they just kept their heir/heiress safely kept away in case of crisis so their line could continue. Judging from her looks, Sonia seems to be late 30's/early 40's in age, and her natural warmness and motherly demeanor suggests she was already a parent.

    • @Mrbluefire95
      @Mrbluefire95 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Yeah the child had to have already been born, and likely old enough to be out in the world on their own somewhere. My best guess is that they avoided putting the child in the memories, because the characters in them show up again in the present in some form.
      Probably wanted to avoid having the prince or princess stick out.

    • @Zac_Frost
      @Zac_Frost ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@Mrbluefire95 It'd have to be that way. Zelda couldn't have done it, as she turned into a Dragon shortly after, and there'd be a time paradox problem if she did. I'm willing to bet Rauru and Sonia's son/daughter was already an adult and maybe an explorer, but came back to Hyrule to take over rulership when he/she caught news of Rauru and Sonia dying, and maybe that's why the rule of not exploring below the castle was instated, as to not disturb Rauru's seal.

      The original audio will always be better no matter the media. Video games, movies, shows, a random video.
      You really can’t beat the original, although I’ll say, Nintendo’s English VA has become a bit better over time. Totk is better than Botw in that regard.

    • @DaWord2011
      @DaWord2011 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@near193 I wouldn't say it is as cut and dry as that. I think things like translations in media can be very objective and there are a lot of factors to consider. An example that comes to mind is the Spice & Wolf anime. The original Japanese VA's are good, but I really think they knocked the English VA's out of the park. I feel they have a chemistry and additional wit I don't pick up in the original language. It is one of the very rare times that I prefer the English translation, but I do prefer it.

    The only thing I dislike is that the subtitles are simply what they say in English dub. I'm hoping the translation is trying to stay faithful but after seeing some changes in BOTW cutscenes, I'm not sure anymore lol

      @Some-guy-on-the-internet ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I understand very little Japanese but based on my experience playing through both games with Japanese voices, I noticed many instances where the English subtitles did not match the Japanese speech. There's also the problem that a lot of the English lines don't have the right tone and mannerisms, as well as the VAs not matching the age range that their character is supposed to have (especially noticable with Tulin, Yunobo, Mineru, and the Great Deku Tree, among others).

      @@Some-guy-on-the-internetyeah I’m familiar with some issues with the translation sometimes it’s spot on sometimes it’s not I’m particularly interested in the Zelda and Sonia cutcean. Since well it basically parents wanting too meet their daughters boyfriend. It’s very zelink heavy. But apparently from what I’ve heard they replaced rarus “you have absolute faith”in English apparently in the Japanese its “you must have strong feelings for him” I’m pretty shure this is correct since Nintendo was allready being *very* on the nose with this entire memory it’s very clear Zelda loves link

    • @Some-guy-on-the-internet
      @Some-guy-on-the-internet ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wiskerfall4519 I agree. The game was directed by Hidemaru Fujibayashi who is known to be a supporter of Zelink in the games he directs. It's clear that the writers intended for there to be a romantic connection between Link and Zelda, whereas NOA tried to avoid the topic during localisation. On a similar note, it should be fairly well known at this point that in Japanese, the quest log in both BotW and TotK act as Link's personal diary where he writes out his thoughts and feelings which may not necessarily reflect those of the player. The writers clearly want Link to be portrayed as a true character while NOA defiantly refuses to follow suit and portrays him as a self-insert instead.

    • @wiskerfall4519
      @wiskerfall4519 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Some-guy-on-the-internet yea any game he directed always has some sort of romantic connection between link and Zelda especially in btow and totk hell the entire Zelda and Sonia cutscene is basically Zelda talking about how Zelda is in love with link and it comes off like raru and Sonia wanting to meet him like parents wanting too meet their daughters boyfriend. I’m just very curious about that cutcean in particular since I’ve seen other languages and what they say Varys a lot like in the German version.

    there's so much STUPID in this story it's beyond ridiculous...
    1) HOW do they know what the master sword IS and that it "SEALS DARKNESS" if there's NEVER BEEN ANY DARKNESS TO SEAL???? So you're telling me Hyrule had 0 monsters before gannondorf summoned them out of the moon (like it's naruto or some shit lmao)???? then how does anyone know that there's a sword powerful enough to defeat any evil?? VERY simple question that creates a GLARING PLOT HOLE for anyone with even a fraction of a brain....
    2) WHY in the fuck would you tell the villain the name of the hero that's gonna beat him hundreds of years in the future????? why not just say "someone will beat you one day" and that way try to protect that person for as long as possible through anonymity...? If I was Gannon and could take over divine beasts and guardians etc I would have just sent all my minions and guardians, etc to hunt down ANYONE NAMED LINK and eliminate them thus solving my problem before it arises LOL.
    3) IF zelda could reverse the time of the knife flying through the air from the clone thing towards Sonia, why couldn't she just do that for the knife or sword (whatever) that's used to stab sonia in the back??? if they were so "ready" for that trap, how in the bloody fuck did gannondorf sneak up on them in a high part of the castle??
    Netflix co-wrote this Disney they? lol

    • @snsnni
      @snsnni ปีที่แล้ว +24

      i pity your tiny brain being introduced to literature this way.
      first, it wouldnt be fiction if it does exactly the "realistic" measures you think of. if you ever thought of writing something like that, your story would end in three pages without any world to expand in and prolly would sell badly.
      second, if you ever read the exchange between the characters, it was mentioned that zonai once dominated the lands but during rauru's foundation of hyrule, only him and his sister were left. this may imply that something evil already existed that wiped their clan or weakened it causing its gradual extinction. it's up for interpretation, but one thing's for sure, darkness and evil already existed at some point before hyrule was founded. they are also familiar of the concept as rauru mentioned "the darkness in [ganondorf's] personality" or something along those lines. there's enough crumbs to believe that evil persisted way before the foundation of hyrule whether it was monsters or not and the master sword must have sealed it once without the zonai's knowledge or direct involvement.
      third, telling ganondorf the name of the hero that would end him one day may be a form of taunting. it's also up for interpretation, but you could look at it as a way of telling the opponent your guaranteed win whatever evil plan they may do. it's like telling your opponent, you'll play scissors in a rock-paper-scissors game to mess with their head. such scene in the story is a literary touch to it to make it more appealling, maybe it wasnt just fit for your poor taste.
      fourth, i agree that it was an absolute bummer how the downfall of hyrule began with a petty sucker stab all while boasting about their preparation. but to give it the benefit of the doubt, ganondorf is already established to be formidable that it isnt out of his league to do such sneaky feat.
      fifth, for stab wounds, it is a lot better for the stab weapon to be stuck in there than taking it out as it acts as stoppage for the bleeding. this prevents excessive bleed out. plucking it out from sonia would definitely not change the outcome any better.
      you just wasted your time watching all these if you can only react to it with hate and disappointment. try to enjoy and appreciate things sometimes.
