    Please don't put your dogs in nooses. They can get into trouble while your back is turned. Put the dog in a safe harness and then attach the cord to the harness with a carabiner or clip. Allow them enough loose line to walk and to lie down.

    I’m new to knots, would you ever use a running bowline instead of just a regular bowline?
    I have to attach mine to a soccer goal post, so I can’t have it slight down. If my dog pulls a lot and wiggles will these knots come down?

    Just did a similar setup with some old clothes line and a ratchet strap for tension. Using her steel choker and a leash. Doubles as a clothes line as well! 😀

    Just a major safety concern with dog runs... NEVER leave them unattended with a choker-style knot or choke collar. My dog passed when I was a kid after he got tangled in a hose and the chain choker collar acted like a noose.

    Thanks for the video, great simple idea with things I already have hanging around, we got our first family puppy for my girls and this will help a lot since they don have any previous experience with dogs, I think this will work great in our travels in our camper.

    Will this work for an 85lbs doberman?

      I'd give it a try and watch the dog to make sure he doesn't chew the cord. If he does, you can use about 3' of wire or chain attached to the collar. It's worked on ALL my dogs. I also stay fairly close to them so they don't feel left out. :-)

    Absolutely awesome thank you so much I almost paid 250$ for a store bought zip line. You explained it so well. I have soft hands if you get what I mean(my dad was a CWO5 IN THE Marines). I cant make anything..... I could this though.

    Awesome Video!!
    Thank You so much, we have been searching for an overhead trolly system for or Chihuahua.
    Most of the systems sold in stores and online are way too big (50ft) for our very small yard (20ft)

    didn't the collar have a d ring for a leash? that would have been a better anchor point

    How long could you go with one of these, 50 or 100 ft? I've got a 70 lbs 10 month old German Shephard that pulls violently. She's way stronger than I ever imagined and I've had large German Shephards before. This one is crazy strong. The paracord may be better than the metal cable type for this, seems like it has more give in it if she yanks it hard, won't snap. You think so?

    I know this is an older video, but is the cord pretty strong for a rowdy 60 pound pup?

    • @heatherray4385
      @heatherray4385 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of these cords can handle about five hundred pounds. I hope it worked for you if you tried it! I’m trying today with a rowdy pup myself 😬

    Nice! Much easier and cheaper than the video of the kit that the guy bought from Amazon. I'm going to try it for my lab that likes to chase cars. Wish me luck!

    I keep my dog on a run using a d-ring in my back yard, pretty much the same way.
