I dye my hair neon colors, mostly because I love color, but a little bit also because if people are gonna stare, might as well give em something worth staring at. That way, when I'm anxious in a public space and someone's staring at me, I can tell myself "they're just looking at my hair" instead of worrying about them judging my life choices 😂
That's not true. The nerves you are talking about aren't close enough to the surface of the skin that they could be hit by a piercing needle. It is possible, but unlikely, that a severely infected piercing could cause partial paralysis, but it isn't going to happen from hitting a nerve. That's a myth.

The only time I've seen "free" and "piercing" together and it turn out well, was when a reputable piercer in my city gave half priced piercings for A-B report cards and a free one for a straight A ones. For high school kids with parent permission, and college students if they brought in their grades at the end of a semester.
Oh I love that, must be really rewarding for the kids too. My piercing/tattoo studio once did a Christmas raffle. Everyone who came in to get a piercing or tattoo during that time got a free ticket. 99% of the prices were sweets, a small tube of tattoo cream, a titanium barbell and things like that, but the main price was a free piercing

My piercer guy is a dad of 2 kids. He will absolutely *not* pierce any child under 5yo *and* if they're over 5yo they have to verbally say to him & also show physically, that they want their lobes pierced (he will only do lobes under 16yo and a parent must do the paperwork) - he will do other ear piercings on 16yo to up but if under 18yo you need a parent there and you both fill in paperwork *and* he give an after care cleaning guide and kit to all piercings so they have the equipment to clean said piercing that day (a saline solution spray and cotton buds). If a parent comes in and says "oh my kids *really* want their ears pierced" he talks to the child away from the parent and asks them and also will *not* listen to the parent but only the child in question. Any indication that they're unsure, he turns them away with the advice to come back when their older/ready for it. He is the best piercer I've found and I won't go anywhere else. He's also a Tattoo artist and manages the Tattoo studio. Do your research people.
@Iamagoblingivemeyourstuff Australia - we still have some $h!t places that do piercing guns but they also do body waxxing, etc. Soooooo. But most pro places are stand alone or situated in tattoo shops and they kind of have their own code. Like a lot of tattoo artists also do.

I actually pierced my earlobe nearly 7 years ago and I didn’t know anything about you back then. Unfortunately at that time I got pierced with piercing gun and a keloid grow up on my earlobe after 2 years I guess. Even after taking out my piercing it didn’t healed and I had to be in a surgery. It has been 4 years after the surgery and after what happened I started to do research about piercings and stuff. That’s when I found out about you on the internet and I’m so glad. I was finally brave enough to get my ears pierced after 4 years and get it done the right way. Again thank you so much. If I didn’t saw your channel I couldn’t be brave enough to do it again ❤
You see what can happen with your earlobe and they’re probably the safest piercing. An earlobe is mostly fat. It’s not nearly as dangerous as piercings in places where there are major nerves and arteries or muscles (like the tongue) or even cartilage. Even worse doing it online for others to see. Many times it seems to work out but we don’t see the after effects. People see that and think it was easy so they can do it, too. Like the barbell being too short on that girl’s tongue. There has to be room for swelling and best believe she had to remove that and it was not easy to get out. Also, she didn’t disinfect her mouth or the piercing at all beforehand or after. She didn’t pull her tongue out. The muscle must be stretched during the piercing so it doesn’t atrophy or cause problems moving and eating when healed. Infection can hide in the muscle of the tongue and she might not even know she has an infection until she has to have part of her tongue removed. It’s not as simple as it seems. If a home piercing works out for one person that definitely doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. So, I hope others will see your comment and realize how complications can happen even with ‘safe’ piercings. Source: I’m 42 and have been piercing since I was 17 and I have pierced myself
@mushroom0-0 Nah it doesn’t hurt at all. I felt just a slight pinch when the needle was about to pierce but that’s all. What I would recommend you to do is if you just got pierced your ears with guns, just remove them and wait for it to heal and get it done with the right way. If it has been a while since you got pierced and if its healed, you don’t really need to do anything. Just take care of it and clean it everyday
Yeah, my piercer said I couldn’t get my industrial done B/C my ear isn’t the right shape, so I’m like ok and got something else done! The piercer knows best! ❤

My friend wanted her cheeks done and was told that no reputable piercer will do it anymore due to the risk of hitting facial nerves. She couldn’t find someone willing to do it who wasn’t dodgy so she never got them done.
Smart friend really. If no reputable piercer will do it you shouldn't just do it yourself. That should be a clear sign that the piercing is just not a good idea

You have triggered a memory on the whole "alt people are attention seeking" thing. I used to work with a guy who, on a work night out, spotted a woman who had amazing makeup + hair. It was all bright red and she just owned it. I think her outfit was interesting too but can't remember. He couldn't stop staring at her with a look of disgust. I asked wtf was up thinking she'd done something to him. No. He was just annoyed at her purely for existing and said "i hate folk like that, clearly after attention. You do not choose to look like that unless you want attention. It's pathetic." Coming from a dude who has the most basic, unimaginative wardrobe going. As someone AFAB, who was always somewhat odd-looking (and behaving, but that's another essay) it kind of breaks my heart seeing these stunning young women risking destroying their faces, just to get the instant gratification of piercing themselves. It's equally heart-breaking when it's anyone, it's just the carry over of a lifetime of being incapable of meeting society's beauty standards. But as our Roly always says, I wish they loved themselves more.
unfortunately scarring and infection is common regardless if done professionally or not. It's way cheaper to do your own piercings which is why I believe so many people do them at home, some people want to have a future in it, so they practice on themselves. There's definitely people out there who do things like this to themselves for views, likes or to fit in but most do it because yes they do find themselves more attractive with piercings, it's part of their identity and what makes them confident.

I think the reason the kid started laughing suddenly after her ear piercing is because kids have a hard time regulating their emotions. She instantly went from fear and anxiety over perceived incoming pain to a flood of relief and joy that it wasn't as bad as she expected and that it was over, plus she's now gonna have some kickass new jewelry. It's very likely she couldn't help but express herself, especially with how rapidly her emotions shifted. Personally, I think it's kinda cute that kids that young are so openly expressive. It's a breath of fresh air.

Roly talking about cheek piercings being hard to heal was making me laugh. I'm one month into healing mine and oh my god are they a pain. Literally - the amount of pain I was in for the first week was intense.
They are so hard to heal I've had mine done 2 1/2 times I think at 23 I took them out or 22. I had them pierced when I was 14 took one side out and to repierce because it keloid, then it happened again to both sides twice. Idk know if you know already but if you don't know I forgot the full name but bio something is good mouth wash for oral but especially cheek piercings it doesn't burn

@@RolyWestYT Thaaanks, me too 😅 Facial piercings typically heal very well for me luckily, my piercer is also incredible in general, a true professional. He also makes sure to check up regularly on how it's healing, I also got a great mouthwash made specifically for mouth piercings, as well as a great sterile saline piercing cleansing spray I got when he did my septum PERFECTLY about a month ago. Couldn't ask for a better piercer, I'm so happy to have found one I can fully trust and have a direct line of easy communication with. We have at least 5 more planned 😅🤭🤭
I'm right now on my way to first and foremost do a consultation with my piercer about nipple piercings, and I'll get them both done today if my anatomy works and I'm ready for the commitment. Can't wait! I'm quite sure I do have the right atonomy for it, so it's like 90% likely I'll get them done today.. I've wanted them for long, just haven't found a piercer I've felt safe enough with until now.. but now that I've found such a humane person in general that's also EXTREMELY great at his job, I'm finally going for it. I feel so lucky to have found him. He cares so much about his client, that is very apparant. I have a lot of faith and trust in him. I know it's hard in general for people to find both piercers and/or tattoo artists that not only fits your vibe, but most importantly are safe people that care more about doing it right and as comfortable as possible than doing x for just aesthethics and money, that don't even bother to follow up on their clients regarding aftercare, checkups, jewelry and/or bar changes, size changes etc. I know many don't even give any aftercare + healing tips.. that's so irresponsible. So I feel truly lucky to have found someone that is so passionate about their job and clients well being, instead of someone who just does whatever for money, despite them knowing that either the client isn't ready/equipped to properly care for their piercing(s), or despite knowing that the client actually don't have the atonomy. Those piercers can eff all the way off. A great piercer does way more than 'just' do okay piercings. Never settle for any less with either your piercer or tattoo artists! You and your body deserve the best care!

Roly I just got my double nose nostril pierced. I made some wacky faces and I did let out a few tears but I had one of my mates there with me for emotional support. After I got the peircings my friend thought it might be a good idea too punch me on the nose, and now one off the peircings is stuck in my nose. I'm really annoyed at them esspesaly cuz they said oh I only did it for a laugh. Well it's not a laugh when I'm on the floor crying with a peircing stuck in my nose.
28:20 Heyyy I'm the devil worshipper!😂 To answer your questions from 28:20, it can definitely cause tooth and gum damage (just like any other lip piercing) but its not uncomfortable at all! It's pierced at an angle so the spikes don't touch my bottom lip when my mouth is closed, I hardly even notice them :)

The process went super smooth and my piercer was awesome and I wanted to thank you for getting me back into piercings as my regular lobes were done at a mall kiosk with a gun nearly 10 years ago. (I really don’t know how they healed so well) Never thought I’d get any more but then you and your fabulous videos appeared lol. When I was 18 and stupid, I pierced my cartilage multiple times with a gun. All of them randomly started hurting like crazy and the only way I could get it to stop was by taking my jewelry out. Now that I’m older and know better, I’ve gotten pierced by a professional for multiple piercings and never had issues. NEVER do your piercings yourself! Always go to a trained professional!
I had a cousin who died of gangrene from an infection on her leg. Also knew an old man who died of infection after he didn’t take care of his surgery wounds on his jaw. For the love of all that is holy, maintain good hygiene folks.

The little girl who screams then laughs in pain - I have the SAME reaction to pain when I get my legs or 🐈waxed. It's endorphins and sensory overwhelm, so sometimes your brain wires get crossed and the emotional outburst is uncontrollable laughter when you're nervous or relieved like she is here, instead of crying in pain. AND it's much more enjoyable to laugh than to cry so I def dont mind my wires being crossed lol My (ex)bestfriend is an esthetician and waxes for a living, and she said I'm the ONLY one of her clients who does that. It makes the session really fun and she liked having me as an end of the day client to brighten up the day 😊
4:59 There's a reason piercing studios have such high hygiene rules in place. You have to remind yourself that your eyes are a direct pathway to your brain, so an infection in that area can very easily travel to the brain if not treated early enough and properly. So, go ahead and get all the good piercings and tattoos, but please let professional studios with high hygiene standards handle it and as soon as there are signs of infection, especially in your face, go see a doctor!
Regarding the young child laughing crazily while getting her ears peirced; i used to laugh as a coping mechanism when i was scared or in pain when i was a child. I think she is terrified and in pain, poor thing. Even with the blurred face, her body posture said "discomfort" to me. 😢

Infection can hide in the muscle of the tongue and she might not even know she has an infection until she has to have part of her tongue removed. It’s not as simple as it seems. If a home piercing works out for one person that definitely doesn’t mean it will work for everyone.
So, I hope others will see your comment and realize how complications can happen even with ‘safe’ piercings.

@mushroom0-0 Nah it doesn’t hurt at all. I felt just a slight pinch when the needle was about to pierce but that’s all. What I would recommend you to do is if you just got pierced your ears with guns, just remove them and wait for it to heal and get it done with the right way. If it has been a while since you got pierced and if its healed, you don’t really need to do anything. Just take care of it and clean it everyday
Yeah, my piercer said I couldn’t get my industrial done B/C my ear isn’t the right shape, so I’m like ok and got something else done! The piercer knows best! ❤

My friend wanted her cheeks done and was told that no reputable piercer will do it anymore due to the risk of hitting facial nerves. She couldn’t find someone willing to do it who wasn’t dodgy so she never got them done.
Smart friend really. If no reputable piercer will do it you shouldn't just do it yourself. That should be a clear sign that the piercing is just not a good idea
Since I was 14 to like 20-something I had my cheeks re-pierced 2 1/2 times. They were always my favorite piercings

Had one question: you really often mention the risks of infection or bleeding when piercing at home or in bad conditions. I often think about other problems, like damaging nerves when piercing around an eye, and risk of loosing mobility, or damaging a muscle. Isn't it also a possibility?

As someone AFAB, who was always somewhat odd-looking (and behaving, but that's another essay) it kind of breaks my heart seeing these stunning young women risking destroying their faces, just to get the instant gratification of piercing themselves. It's equally heart-breaking when it's anyone, it's just the carry over of a lifetime of being incapable of meeting society's beauty standards. But as our Roly always says, I wish they loved themselves more.

unfortunately scarring and infection is common regardless if done professionally or not. It's way cheaper to do your own piercings which is why I believe so many people do them at home, some people want to have a future in it, so they practice on themselves. There's definitely people out there who do things like this to themselves for views, likes or to fit in but most do it because yes they do find themselves more attractive with piercings, it's part of their identity and what makes them confident.

I think the reason the kid started laughing suddenly after her ear piercing is because kids have a hard time regulating their emotions. She instantly went from fear and anxiety over perceived incoming pain to a flood of relief and joy that it wasn't as bad as she expected and that it was over, plus she's now gonna have some kickass new jewelry. It's very likely she couldn't help but express herself, especially with how rapidly her emotions shifted. Personally, I think it's kinda cute that kids that young are so openly expressive. It's a breath of fresh air.

Roly talking about cheek piercings being hard to heal was making me laugh. I'm one month into healing mine and oh my god are they a pain. Literally - the amount of pain I was in for the first week was intense.
They are so hard to heal I've had mine done 2 1/2 times I think at 23 I took them out or 22. I had them pierced when I was 14 took one side out and to repierce because it keloid, then it happened again to both sides twice. Idk know if you know already but if you don't know I forgot the full name but bio something is good mouth wash for oral but especially cheek piercings it doesn't burn

@@RolyWestYT Thaaanks, me too 😅 Facial piercings typically heal very well for me luckily, my piercer is also incredible in general, a true professional. He also makes sure to check up regularly on how it's healing, I also got a great mouthwash made specifically for mouth piercings, as well as a great sterile saline piercing cleansing spray I got when he did my septum PERFECTLY about a month ago. Couldn't ask for a better piercer, I'm so happy to have found one I can fully trust and have a direct line of easy communication with. We have at least 5 more planned 😅🤭🤭
I'm right now on my way to first and foremost do a consultation with my piercer about nipple piercings, and I'll get them both done today if my anatomy works and I'm ready for the commitment. Can't wait! I'm quite sure I do have the right atonomy for it, so it's like 90% likely I'll get them done today.. I've wanted them for long, just haven't found a piercer I've felt safe enough with until now.. but now that I've found such a humane person in general that's also EXTREMELY great at his job, I'm finally going for it. I feel so lucky to have found him. He cares so much about his client, that is very apparant. I have a lot of faith and trust in him. I know it's hard in general for people to find both piercers and/or tattoo artists that not only fits your vibe, but most importantly are safe people that care more about doing it right and as comfortable as possible than doing x for just aesthethics and money, that don't even bother to follow up on their clients regarding aftercare, checkups, jewelry and/or bar changes, size changes etc. I know many don't even give any aftercare + healing tips.. that's so irresponsible. So I feel truly lucky to have found someone that is so passionate about their job and clients well being, instead of someone who just does whatever for money, despite them knowing that either the client isn't ready/equipped to properly care for their piercing(s), or despite knowing that the client actually don't have the atonomy. Those piercers can eff all the way off. A great piercer does way more than 'just' do okay piercings.
Never settle for any less with either your piercer or tattoo artists! You and your body deserve the best care!

Roly I just got my double nose nostril pierced. I made some wacky faces and I did let out a few tears but I had one of my mates there with me for emotional support. After I got the peircings my friend thought it might be a good idea too punch me on the nose, and now one off the peircings is stuck in my nose. I'm really annoyed at them esspesaly cuz they said oh I only did it for a laugh.

To answer your questions from 28:20, it can definitely cause tooth and gum damage (just like any other lip piercing) but its not uncomfortable at all! It's pierced at an angle so the spikes don't touch my bottom lip when my mouth is closed, I hardly even notice them :)

Hi Roly I’m a bit late to this video but I wanted to let you know i just got my upper lobes pierced yesterday! The process went super smooth and my piercer was awesome and I wanted to thank you for getting me back into piercings as my regular lobes were done at a mall kiosk with a gun nearly 10 years ago. (I really don’t know how they healed so well) Never thought I’d get any more but then you and your fabulous videos appeared lol. When I was 18 and stupid, I pierced my cartilage multiple times with a gun. All of them randomly started hurting like crazy and the only way I could get it to stop was by taking my jewelry out. Now that I’m older and know better, I’ve gotten pierced by a professional for multiple piercings and never had issues. NEVER do your piercings yourself! Always go to a trained professional!

The little girl who screams then laughs in pain - I have the SAME reaction to pain when I get my legs or 🐈waxed. It's endorphins and sensory overwhelm, so sometimes your brain wires get crossed and the emotional outburst is uncontrollable laughter when you're nervous or relieved like she is here, instead of crying in pain. AND it's much more enjoyable to laugh than to cry so I def dont mind my wires being crossed lol My (ex)bestfriend is an esthetician and waxes for a living, and she said I'm the ONLY one of her clients who does that. It makes the session really fun and she liked having me as an end of the day client to brighten up the day 😊
4:59 There's a reason piercing studios have such high hygiene rules in place. You have to remind yourself that your eyes are a direct pathway to your brain, so an infection in that area can very easily travel to the brain if not treated early enough and properly. So, go ahead and get all the good piercings and tattoos, but please let professional studios with high hygiene standards handle it and as soon as there are signs of infection, especially in your face, go see a doctor!

Regarding the young child laughing crazily while getting her ears peirced; i used to laugh as a coping mechanism when i was scared or in pain when i was a child. I think she is terrified and in pain, poor thing. Even with the blurred face, her body posture said "discomfort" to me. 😢
