- The Lilith's Necklace is an item that was added in the 1.4.4 update, and it immediately stands out as being the only "transformation" item in the game. While it is quite powerful, I figured it would be a fun mix up to how the game is typically played, and for an additional challenge I decided to play without armor for the entire run.

this dudes sheer determination to not get better accessories is truly something else (I totally wasnt being driven mad by them spending two accessory slots on two extra jumps instead of one slot for 3 extra jumps)

Props to you since with these kinds of high difficulty challenges I find that it's almost never mastermode. So cool going through the journey with you of learning nuiances of difficult bosses, and very nice editing as well. I like the diversity of weapons as well to add to the difficulty and I hope you get more recognition for the work you put into this :)
Thanks man, this game really does have a lot of potential for challenges so I'm glad you appreciate it just as much as I do. I'll definitely make some more challenge runs in the future.
The Stardust Cell Staff is actually pretty good when using multiple different summons, as it's damage will be basically the same for any amount higher than 2, so if you summon 2 stardust cells, and then spend the rest of your minion slots on your other summon it does way more damage, this is especially true with the Stardust Dragon, as for each segment the damage falls off slightly.
Of course it's still not amazing, but it is guaranteed damage, and it's better than full Stardust Dragon.

@@isloths Getting the terraprisma is also quite easy with wings, especially if you have the stardust cell staff and whipstacking can grant you insane amounts of dps on the caveat that it requires skill. The stardust dragon with a proper loadout and whipstacking can actually out dps the zenith on single target enemies, which is just insane (the coin gun is also capable of this but you need to exploit or grind 5000 hours to be able to afford that).
By proper utilization of whipstacking in my recent run I was even able to dish out a consistent 5-9k dps onto golem (with pre golem gear of course) so that just goes to show how powerful the summoner class can be when done right.

as a summoner main, i feel like endgame is when the class really shines. don’t want to mine to kill things underground? use a giant dragon that will automatically target them through blocks. want to kill stuff real good without doing anything? spawn 11 minions and a guardian to do stuff for you. want to test your skills against a fun boss for your greatest power? daytime eol. want to rage and cry like a baby because game too hard? also daytime eol. but can melee classes get to a base damage of 661 per attack (as the weapon lists)? i think not.

Side note regarding the summoner: while it's true that some weapons have bad aim, the class is still really fun and balanced plus the issue is kinda negated by whips. You also mentioned that summons rely on good armor but you should remember that if the summons were stronger in their base form that would also heavily buff non-specific class loadouts. Plus generally, after all the updates summmoner is finally a very effective class with unique weapons, cool playstyle and good dps. Like seriously, it kinda almost feels like the only class that currently feels a little underwhelming during certain stages of the game is arguably the mage since it didn't get as many huge buffs. Of course no class is perfect but i think the others have an easier time. Ranger's weapons might be a little boring but it works very well, meanwhile melee is much more fun after 1.4.4. I'm still testing everything out and I want to do more playthroughs but school is currently holding me back so my current thoughts might not be as accurate. And obviously 1.4.5 is on the way so it's very exciting as well!
This is a really well thought out comment. I know I mentioned it briefly in the video but most of my criticism of summoner was largely exaggerated. Genuinely, summoner is pretty awesome now and it really does hold its own against the other classes. I just thought it was funny to make a ton of jokes about it. I like what you have to say about the armor to. I never thought about how having the raw summons be more powerful would affect balance. Thanks for the comment man.

i think the unreliability problem wasnt really a problem in the first place as summoner has reliable summons throughout the whole game after beating BoC / EoW, aka
imp staff with snapthorn (pre WoF)
vampire bats + cool whip / firecracker (pre mech)
vampire bats + durendal ( i guess ) (pre plant)
vampire bats + morning star / pumpkin moon whip (forgot name lol) (pre EoL / golem)
terraprisma (if youre good) / vampire bats + kaleidoscope (post EoL)
terraprisma / xeno staff + kaleidoscope (pre cultist)
terraprisma / stardust dragon + kaleidoscope (pre ml - endgame)
(wow this was surprisingly long)
as for the second argument, as you said its run specific so i wont talk about that
overall i see where youre coming from but i think you underrated summoner a bit from what ive seen throughut this video and part 1
edit: also forgot to mention that duke fishron is still worth it to fight because of how overpowered the fishhron wings are (doesnt apply to this run but still)

Loved this challenge! Your humor was very enjoyable and beating terraria on mastermode w/o armor is impressive enough, but you did it entirely with one "mount" and while refusing to get alot of the more useful accessories

My only criticism would be that you probably shouldn't fill the most climactic part of the video with the flashing lights, and that flashing lights warnings go best with a timestamp to jump to the end of the flashing lights segment 😌

The dragon staff was free passive damage with the one base summon slot, and one from the enchantment table. That’s two slots for a dumb as shit summon that’s second only to terraprisma in damage
we did it boys. we entered the time period where saying something sucks over and over passes as a joke. very funny. I laughed a lot.

Also quick tip: if you hold up while jumping with a featherfall potion you will gain much more height than by just jumping with a featherfall potion. As far as I know of this mechanic isn't mentioned anywhere in the game, which is complete BS, but it would've definitely made many fights in this run much easier.

@@isloths As someone who is currently doing a playthrough it is a very VERY cursed experience. It is very fun though as long as you can keep calm while dying a lot to random bs. though I can remember some deaths that were so ridiculous that I was not even mad.

for your assessment of the stardust cell staff id like to point out that 1. debuff damage is not shown in the DPS meter and 2. you can see spazmatism's healthbar go down slightly faster in the stardust cell clip despite the dps meter showing less damage. the stardust cell has low base damage but its debuff can be very powerful in conjunction with other minions :)

Combat wrench is the only other weapon I can think of that shows on your character when it's in your hand but not actively being used. It sits on your back

Hahaha yeah, "Cultist is hella easy as long as you don't hit a decoy, at which point it suddenly gets much harder and can spiral out of control" seems to be a pretty common sentiment. I remember when I returned to my post-cultist expert save after like a year and a half of not playing, took my Shroomite Armor and Phantasm and proceeded to lose to Cultist due to feeling cocky and hitting his decoys too much… I don't think I've ever been as embarrassed playing Terraria.

Are Empress' weapons crap? Doubt it, they are actually pretty strong - not to mention fun to use with them roughly replicating boss' moves and being so beautiful, even if not hyper-optimal according to some obscure guides of people who killed Moon Lord with a Copper Shortsword :D . Starlight shreds if you actually know how to not get hit too often.
Though Nightglow does feel underwhelming with its damage for mana it spends, to an extent.
Edit: Screw Duke Fishron, far more annoying to fight than Empress of Light imo, XD. He does drop awesome weapons, but man...
