- THNKR is proud to present the next chapter in the riveting story of 15-Year-Old engineering prodigy Kelvin Doe. THNKR has exclusive access to Kelvin as he returns to the United States to deliver a riveting talk at TedxTeen and grapples with the impact of newfound TH-cam superstardom.
15-Year-Old Kelvin Doe is an engineering whiz living in Sierra Leone who scours the trash bins for spare parts, which he uses to build batteries, generators and transmitters. Completely self-taught, Kelvin has created his own radio station where he broadcasts news and plays music under the moniker, DJ Focus.
Kelvin became the youngest person in history to be invited to the "Visiting Practitioner's Program" at MIT. THNKR had exclusive access to Kelvin throughout his life-changing journey, exploring incredible opportunities, contending with homesickness, and mapping out his future.

I was so moved. So brilliant and such a heart. When is MIT going to extend an offer of a scholarship? This beautiful kid is already a scientist with 'the right stuff'. Let's give him everything he needs to inspire us and contribute to the world.

The whole speech is amazing but what's touching is that he ended everything with; "It makes me feel good, because my mom will be proud of me". Shows that he is humbled by the opportunity and grateful for his upbringing.
Congrats boy! there are lot of kids like this in Africa, just that most are not lucky to get people to support them. And his last speech "My mom will be proud of me", the true African blood. . . The sky is your starting point Kelvin!
