    Thanks Myong for this video. Two months abo, I've bought a GH5 ii for three main reasons :
    - Performance price ratio in video (VLog 10 bits up to 50/60 fps),
    - Abbility to film under rainy weather
    - No need for a gimbal.
    Now that I have used it a little bit, I can say that I'm asthonished by two other possibilities :
    - Native crop mode, with no image alteration, which brings my 12-60 mm lens to a 155 mm equivalent full frame lens in 4K and up to 310 mm in 1080 p
    - 6kA 25 / 30 fps recording which allows a lot of possibilities for reframing or pan effect in 4 k in post prod.
    Compared with other recent cameras such as Canon R7 I was considering as an alternative, GH5 ii is certainly behind for AFC and dynamic, but the much larger choice of Ultra Wide Angle, weather compatible lenses, dedicated to MFT cameras available made me to choose Pana.

      Great points and thanks for sharing that Denis! This is my only camera that I can feel safe of leaving it on a gimbal and relying on its autofocus which does a great job. Still my main camera for all my gigs. However tonight I am filming a night time Halloween event and it’s not the best for low light. Luckily I also own Panasonic S5 which is full fram version of the GH5 with better low light, since most full frame sensors are good in low light now a days. But the S5 autofocus isn’t as good for some reason. That’s when the canon and the Sony wins for its awesome autofocus ability. All great cameras but it’s fun they all have their strengths and weaknesses!

    I have two GH5’s and a GH5 Mk2. I really appreciate the USB powering of the GH5 Mk2. I have a large USB battery that will power the camera for many hours and if the USB battery becomes disconnected the camera switches seamlessly to the internal battery. The Mk2 also has useable auto focus.

      Being a GH5 user since it came out myself. I think the real important thing that is approved is the autofocus. GH5 pulses many times when it struggles to autofocus or there’s too many info on the screen. GH5 ii doesn’t do that! So important! The menus and the camera itself feels more modern. The best part, it doesn’t have that strange light green tint that the GH5 has on its colors so the colors are more vibrant and true!

    I bought the GH5 Mk2 because I wanted to phase out my ENG cam. I needed two things: reliable auto focus and reach. I shoot live theatre, concerts, and dance shows. The GH5 Mk2 had reliable auto focus. I had a Panasonic 35-100 f2.8 and I added the Leica 50-200 mm f2.8-4.

    Great video. I am looking for a new video camera (coming from an Iphone 13 Pro Max camera) to record my lessons in the classroom, would the GH5 II be good? I tend to move around alot while teaching, so I would want the camera to be able to focus on me? Would the Auto Focus feature on the GH5 II help with that? I am not planning to do any colour grading, would the colour look fine straight from the camera? In addition, do you recommend the normal lumix lense or lecia lens? Thanks in advance.

    • @CameraToFreedom
      @CameraToFreedom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mr Hayes! Thanks for the comment. I highly recommend the GH5 ii. GH6 just came out but it is $600 more and it’s bulkier and you will never need the higher quality video features it offers so save that money. This Amazon link amzn.to/3yyDnsT is a GH5 ii bundle that comes with an awesome lumix lens, all you’ll ever need, memory card, extra batteries and bag and everything you need to get it started. Bundle also comes with a microphone that goes on top of your camera that does great capturing audio that it’s facing and not behind. For best audio of course go with a wireless mic. Here’s what I like: amzn.to/3IxFHFc this mic is the latest technology and the cheapest when I’m used to paying almost a grand for. It charges inside the case and comes with two wireless lapel mics Incase you want a guest or a student to speak. This two mics will transmit to one receiver connected to the camera. All you need is any affordable tripod and you will be 💯 ready to go. The video that comes out from the camera is so amazing! Most of my TH-cam video is unedited!!! The color is already too nice for me to adjust! I do sometimes for fun but you can clearly see how great the color is right out of the camera. Use Neutral for color profile instead of standard. Use standard color if you like the punchy popping color look. Right now I have 10 cameras and yet my GH5 ii is still my go to for most of my big paying client!

      I promise you won’t regret it. I just used it this whole week! Filmed a 8 hour seminar non stop with a dummy battery. My friend brought his Sony A7siii to help me film and his camera would turn off from recording every 30 minutes and there’s no notification. The Rec icon goes away but he would sometimes forget to push record again so we are missing clips from his camera. My GH5ii has all the video non stop recording! That ability alone makes it worth it for your video business! I also recently shot real estate video with this camera and has the best stabilization with gimbal. Sony stabilization is the worst. Sony is definitely one of the great cameras but it’s the little things that I really love about my Panasonic!

    Got the GH5M2 a few months ago and it turned out to be significantly better than my GH5, more like a new camera in a GH5 body. Long over due 14 bit stills. Better color science, better highlight round-off, and more DR in the highlights. With minor adjustments, it gives beautiful liquidity in distant tonal detail along with the look of Kodak Potra 160 when printed on Supra paper which is pretty much perfect for me.

I thought it was my settings until I put a native micro 4/3rds lens on and the auto focus was amazing and almost instant. I own a canon 90d and I put my sigma 18-35 and it works wonders in all aspects but I noticed when I put a native lens on the Panasonic rather than a speed booster it worked way better. I was about to send it back but I’m glad I didn’t I’m just going to invest in solid micro 4/3rds lens.

      All these lenses are for both photos and videos. First get the LUMIX 12-35 f2.8 the most useful lens. Then get lumix 35-100 f2.8 my favorite lens, then get Sigma 16mm f1.4 perfect prime lens that’s like. 35mm prime lens on a full frame. These 3 lens is all you’ll ever need then you can have fun with other lenses. Don’t get lens that less then f2.8 for professional use.

      So you need power adapter. It allows you to put your np batteries on it and it has an out that’ll convert more volt and amp so you can power your gh5ii it’s affordable and now converts your no battery to a stronger output battery. Here’s the Amazon link amzn.to/3QfApjy

      Ooh I actually own that lens! Not many people even know about it! I use it during wedding reception when it’s too dark for regular lens. Autofocus is decent and it lets your gh5 be a low light camera! It makes your gh5 and that lens equivalent to a full frame 35mm f2.0!

    • @CameraToFreedom
      @CameraToFreedom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes get the S5ii! I have the S5 mark 1 and it’s amazing. My Sony user friend wants to switch after using my camera for a day. He said the stabilization alone is in matched and my S5 he can just hand hold it all day! That S5ii is such a badass camera! My gh5ii is still with me on my gimbal since it’s s light and just as great. Also it’s equivalent to 70-200 which is 35-100 is so much smaller and lighter you can even use that with a gimbal if you want. So there’s still a big advantage for me to keep using my GH5ii!S5ii is the better camera but know that it’s heavier with the bigger lens. Lens are also more expensive so if you have the money go for it! Panasonic cameras are the way to go and you can go wrong either way.

    I would say biggest reason might be budget. Because 90% of those features can be have in a7sIII as well. and a7sIII offer more like full frame and amazing auto focus. However the price difference is close to $2000. If budget is allowed, I would go with a7sIII every time. But if you want spend less than $2000. Yes Gh5II might have the best feature set for the price.
