This vehicle is seriously very underrated. I live in freezing temperatures here in Canada and once in 4WD auto it just sticks to the ground in heavy snow and icy conditions - even at temps as low as -30C. The next thing is ABLS, which I see you have mastered well in your other videos. 4WD high and 4WD low split the power 50-50 front/rear. 4WD low gets the ABLS into play (not sure if 4WD high does it), which acts left-right on an axle, by stopping the spinning wheel using brakes. So you are right, it kind of acts like a DIFF lock - needs a little practice and commitment to learn it though - but once you learn it, the vehicle devours most terrain. You can actually see some rock crawling videos on TH-cam of Pathfinders. The absence of solid axles can be felt if you get too serious, but the comfort of the IFS/IRS can be felt when you take the family for regular business on tarmac.
Nice summary! My R51 is amazing in freezing Norway as well! If you're still around, do you know if I'm right to deduce that the D40 Navara could come with diff lock, but not the Pathfinder?

Nice car, and a really nice solution for the rear lift. Could you tell me what sort of threads the bolts that hold the subframe are? I want to do this on my Pathfinder.
Thanks for sharing this. because the rear lift is subframe spacers, did you have any driveline vibrations from the diff being dropped 2"? im guessing you had to buy longer bolts for the rear subframe with the spacers?
Dorian F, thank you for watching my video. No i haven't had any drive line vibration that i have noticed. Yes I had to get longer bolts, no hardware stores carry long enough bolts, I bought mine from BoltDepot.com. The longest boltdepot had was 120mm they work no problem but, i would feel better with 130mm but i haven't been able to find any.
@@algeradventures4891 I attempted to do my rear lift today and all the subframe bolts broke off inside the frame, lol. So I got some work to do tomorrow.
@@algeradventures4891 I air hammered the broken bolts and weld nuts out of the frame and fished new nuts inside the frame rails. its wasnt easy but the front and rear lift is done now. The alignment was annoying too because most of the adjustment cams were siezed.
Hello, great work, is the swaybar at the rear installed? If not, was the articulation improved? and how is the road feeling with those high profile tires?, I like the way those 16 inch wheels looks but do not know if go with 17 inch to keep road manners more close to oem.
Huaso, Thank you. No, i removed my rear sway-bar. I never got to compare how it does off-road because when i bought my pathfinder it had 22" wheels and i never had any real traction on trails to begin with. But I max out my rear flex on trails now, that with the rear sway bar installed would limit how the whole rear would work. I couldn't compare the on road feeling and handling to stock because of the 22's, and the 22's made the on-road driving horrible. With 16's to 17's, i chose 16" because the tires are cheaper than the 17's, by a little bit. Me personally i don't think their would be a big noticeable difference for side wall flex on road between the 16" to 17" rim. You would feel more with removing the rear sway bar.
This is so awesome you know how to do this. I just bought a 2012 used Nissan Pathfinder Silver Edition 4WD. I got a 2 inch lift put on, but how did you get the tires to stick out? Im sorry if thats a stupid question. Btw I love your videos, please post more!
Did you face any problems with rear diff ? I lifted mine and after alignment the rear right short axle of the diff went out a bit and because of that the ABS sensor not reading anymore. Any solution?
Hey buddy. Love the lift you did. I’m working on my 2006 pathfinder now to do the same thing. On the rear are there nuts built into the frame that the longer bolts screw into? Or do I have to get nuts for the bolts?
Thank you, there are nuts in the frame. So if you can keep with the same bolt thread. But if something was to happen you can change the nuts with a lot more work
When you did your lift did your bumpers separate from the rest of the body or are they attached. I'm asking because I've noticed that when some trucks have a body lift that the bumpers and body end up with a huge gap between them due to the bumpers being attached to the frame separately.
Thanks, man, I am gonna do this on mine, unbelievable what a simple solution :D. Any chance you can share what brand are those front spacers so I can buy the same? Otherwise, I risk not getting a beer opener hehe
Hey Alger Thanks for the tuto I bought the same spacers for my front shocks on pathfinder 2011, but I couldn't mount them : the bottom of the schocks in then so low that the upper triangle hits the top of shocks bracket. Seems that the maximum shims I could insert on top of my shocks is about half inch.... ☹ Didn't you net the same problem ?
Manu Iqmj, it will make it a little easier if you loosen the upper and lower control arm bolts so your not fighting the bushings. Then with a floor jack under the lower control arm Jack it up to get the bottom shock bolt in and then jack the lower control arm up high enough to get the upper control arm into the knuckle and get a few threads on the but started. I hope that helps you. Without an after market upper control arm it takes a bit to get it together.
Hey Dan- I'm super excited.. got my wheels and front spacers delivered yesterday and my tires just came in an hour ago.. I went with your exact setup. The only thing I'm doing different is for the rear I ended up buying the ready made pucks from amazon.. the ones that go above/below the rear coils. We'll see how that pans out. I did have a question though- what did you do as far as TPMS.. did you get new ones, just transferred the old ones, or delete them from the system altogether (and is this doable)? Thanks, will have to send you pics once I get it all installed!
Da_Q-ban_One, Awesome that is very exciting, time to transform your Pathfinder. You will have to let me know how the rear works out. You can have the tire shop that is doing your wheels and tires transfer your TPMS over to your new wheel setup. You could leave them off the vehicle but you would have a tire light on. When they transferred mine over they did have to get a new seal kit for 2 of the sensors, but it was only like $10-$15. You will have to let me how the the lift goes, and yes i would like to see pics of your Pathfinder all setup.

Can i ask why did you go to all that effort with the tubing in the rear as opposed to getting both front & rear spacers? Is there any advantages to this method of lift? I suppose you could combine the two & get a 4" overall lift, but then i'd imagine you'd have to start worrying about control arms & cv angles
Hi, I got them from Amazon, but any shop or online store that has them for the frontier or Xterra of similar year will work. I don't think the r51 Pathfinder shares the same front suspension as the NV200, sorry I'm not familiar with the European models
I have mounted 32s (255/75 17, bfg at ko2) on mine stock 06 pathy. No rubbing, but it is a really tight squeeze... on front wheels only 1 mm to bunper on full lock.
Great looking R51. I have had 2 of them and I'd like to lift the current one, but I don' t have access to the tools required for the rear. So, what are some good off-the-shelf options to lift the rear? The front seems easy enough.
I replaced my rear coil springs with Old Man Emu heavy duty coil springs. Not only did it give the rear a significant (>2") lift, but it keeps the rear end from sagging when the truck is loaded down with camping gear. The trade-off is a stiffer ride, but I don't mind that. You might need to replace your control arm bushings with eccentric bushings in order to ensure the camber is good.
Hi Alger, I just got myself a '09 R51. As I like to go desert offroading, R51 is quite low an easily stuck. Need to lift a little bit. @Blow By Racing Keeping up with the Jones pinch seam mod is where you take the flat seam that sticks out (it is behind the wheel well liner) and take a hammer and bend it over out of the way of the tire. Some have cut it every inch or so to make it easier to fold over.
Fabinho, I love it. For a budget lift it has performed better than i expected. Being able to fit the 33" mud terrains are the real reason why it performs so well. So when i finally decide on what way i want to go with the suspension it will only get better.

The longest boltdepot had was 120mm they work no problem but, i would feel better with 130mm but i haven't been able to find any.
@@algeradventures4891 I attempted to do my rear lift today and all the subframe bolts broke off inside the frame, lol. So I got some work to do tomorrow.
@@algeradventures4891 Hi mate what bolts did you use for rear subframe. Are they m12 8.8 1.25 pitch same as body?
@@dorianf1456 , sorry to hear about your bolts breaking, especially since it was all of them. How did it go getting those out and replacing them?
@@algeradventures4891 I air hammered the broken bolts and weld nuts out of the frame and fished new nuts inside the frame rails. its wasnt easy but the front and rear lift is done now. The alignment was annoying too because most of the adjustment cams were siezed.
What is your pro comp wheels model number?Nice set up bro
Looks cool man👍👍
Derrick Murphy, Thank you i appreciate it.
Buy wheels with a higher negative offset, or you can run spacers
Great video mate
What are the specs on the rims? Width, offset?
Sua camionete nao ficou balançando de um lado para outro passando rapido em desniveis
Hello. If I use a 2*2 tube for the rear subframe, how high should the front spacer be? I already have iron man +2'.
WhT size are the bolts 12x1.25?
Thats cool but can I just put a rear coil spacers as well for 50mm/2 inch?
Yes you can, it would probably be easier
What's the length of the new bolts and pitch
I want to know the same?
@@wolf2016. I ordered a 5in sub frame from prg and calmini front with 2in spacer hat in front and 2in springs in rear
I've got 33/12.5/17. You know what sorta rim I should get and where I can get flares from. Cheers mate
Did you face any problems with rear diff ? I lifted mine and after alignment the rear right short axle of the diff went out a bit and because of that the ABS sensor not reading anymore. Any solution?
Where did you get the longer bolts
But if something was to happen you can change the nuts with a lot more work
where is the car? i can't see
When you did your lift did your bumpers separate from the rest of the body or are they attached. I'm asking because I've noticed that when some trucks have a body lift that the bumpers and body end up with a huge gap between them due to the bumpers being attached to the frame separately.
i did a subframe drop, so the body and bumpers stay in the same place.
What brand lift kit did you use . I plan to lift my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder.
I used supreme suspension and i got it from amazon
whether it is necessary to remove the stabilization stick
Cool, what are the wheels? Link? :-)
Thanks, man, I am gonna do this on mine, unbelievable what a simple solution :D. Any chance you can share what brand are those front spacers so I can buy the same? Otherwise, I risk not getting a beer opener hehe
Tengu Drift, lol of course. Its supreme suspension, but the beer opener isn't as good as quality as the lift spacers.
Hi,where can buy the longer bolt for rear lift extender? Thanks.
I got mine from ace hardware, but I did want bolts that are about half an inch longer and I could only find them online that you had to buy in bulk
Did you change your front upper arm since 2" lift add on
Hey Alger
Thanks for the tuto
I bought the same spacers for my front shocks on pathfinder 2011, but I couldn't mount them : the bottom of the schocks in then so low that the upper triangle hits the top of shocks bracket.
Seems that the maximum shims I could insert on top of my shocks is about half inch.... ☹
Didn't you net the same problem ?
Manu Iqmj, it will make it a little easier if you loosen the upper and lower control arm bolts so your not fighting the bushings. Then with a floor jack under the lower control arm Jack it up to get the bottom shock bolt in and then jack the lower control arm up high enough to get the upper control arm into the knuckle and get a few threads on the but started. I hope that helps you. Without an after market upper control arm it takes a bit to get it together.
Hey Dan-
I'm super excited.. got my wheels and front spacers delivered yesterday and my tires just came in an hour ago..
Mind if I ask how this went? Looking at the pucks for the back as well. Thanks!
@@dereklonsdale282 I am still having difficulties getting rear aligned properly. This is my current setup:
SUSPENSION:
Front - Supreme Suspensions front leveling kit for (2" Front Lift Aircraft Billet Strut spacer kit)
Rear- Rancho RS70077 coil spring spacer kit (1.75" lift). Brand new Moog 81119 coil springs. Air lift 1000 suspension kit 60810.
Gabriel G63875 shocks for '06 armada
WHEELS & TIRES: Pro Comp Alloy wheels Series 89 (16" x 8", 6lug x4.5" pitch, -12mm offset). Pro Comp 11124 lug kit. Thunderer MT 285/75R16
What are the two shorter pieces of box steel for? I didn't see that in the video.
They go in the front of the subframe held by a single bolt
Can i ask why did you go to all that effort with the tubing in the rear as opposed to getting both front & rear spacers? Is there any advantages to this method of lift? I suppose you could combine the two & get a 4" overall lift, but then i'd imagine you'd have to start worrying about control arms & cv angles
Cheapness.
Nice work, what screws did you use?
Juan Ramirez, The bolts are M14x1.50 and if you do a 2" i would go with 130mm long
Hi from Denmark, can you tell me were you Got the strut spacers from ?
Hi, I got them from Amazon, but any shop or online store that has them for the frontier or Xterra of similar year will work. I don't think the r51 Pathfinder shares the same front suspension as the NV200, sorry I'm not familiar with the European models
A great video I got a 2005 Pathfinder no lift and I want to put 32s on it. you think I can do that with no lift?
I'm sure you can, it's just how much you might have to cut to make it fit
May I know for the rear lift, how mm in dia for the hole you make on the spacer? what is the distance between the holes?
What size of the bolts? is it M12 or M14?
Mine have 17" rims.what size of tyre I can go max without any trimming on the body?
Hey i need to lift r51 for desert driving as well. Did you manage to improve the car for desert?
Saludos
Pura vida 🇨🇷
My pathy is due for a spring shock replacement..... I’m thinking about lifting it also... I don’t see many pathfinder out there lift
Their are a bunch of options for spring and shock replacements depending on your budget. And no their isn't many lifted pathfinders out their

I’m thinking about going kyb. I just want my ride to be smooth again. What brand do u have in yours ?
@@hughujkbkilhhhfbhgyre6436 , I have the factory shock's and springs still. I just added spacers. I know my suspension is now stuffer than factory in the front but I don't notice it

Ok, thanks.
What model number or part number of your rims?
any problems with the rear brake lines or shock length?
no no problems that i know of
Hi, can you confirm the size of the metal pieces, I think I heard:
- (2) 11”
- (2) 3”
Both 2” x 2”?
Yup that is correct, that is the length and size I used
Alger Adventures thanx
Do you have any pics, to see where they go exactly? (:
Looks good
And what the vertical size included the top rack on your r51 since you lifted 2" and 33" tire?
Hey man will those supreme suspension puck lifts work on a rear wheel drive pathfinder?
Yes its the same suspension just without a front diff
What’s the exact tire size?
I have a 2009 Pathfinder SE non 4x4, now have you upgreaded the front recovery points? I am looking into getting some from RoadSafe but I dont know if they fit.
Brendaleetv, No i haven't upgraded my recovery points. I have been looking at DezertRunner's, they say they will fit the pathfinder. I will have to look into RoadSafes's.
I just looked underneath my Pathfinder SE and I do have L and R frame treded mounting holes so Ill get the yellow recovery points from RoadSafe.
How can i contact you to do my 2018 Pathfinder .I like your style.
Ameen Khan, Thank you very much. My email is algerdaniel85@gmail. The 2018 Pathfinder is a totally different vehicle, my model has a frame separate from the body, and your model has the body and frame built together. you can message me and i can definitely help you and see what their is out there for your vehicle.
Wish I lived closer. I’ve got the same make/model/year & really want to do this to mine.
Do the front tires rub?
Yes, I did the pinch seam mod and I had to melt the fender liner in the front and back to make room
@Blow By Racing Keeping up with the Jones pinch seam mod is where you take the flat seam that sticks out (it is behind the wheel well liner) and take a hammer and bend it over out of the way of the tire. Some have cut it every inch or so to make it easier to fold over.
@Blow By Racing Keeping up with the Jones you on IG? Find me @offroad__adventures
Brother did you eliminate the bar ????
I removed the rear sway bar in the video, a few months ago I finally took the front out too
How do you like it so far?
Fabinho, I love it. For a budget lift it has performed better than i expected. Being able to fit the 33" mud terrains are the real reason why it performs so well. So when i finally decide on what way i want to go with the suspension it will only get better.
awesome
What size tires
They are 33"
What size bolts did you use 🙏🙏🙏🙏
M14 x 1.50 and 130mm
What size are the new bolts you used do you have the specific size?
M14 x 1.50 130mm
Alger Adventures thanks, you inspire me tu lift my pathfinder and to go out and enjoy our beautiful Arizona
I did the front lift yesterday and Monday will be finishing the rear still looking for some tires 🤟🏼
That's awesome, hopefully someday we can hit a trail together.
