Thanks to your Video I bought One 2 months ago for $49 USD MINT condition, I read the Manual for 15 minutes to understand the Basic concepts and got it running right Away. Don't be LAZY Joe Hamilton read Manuals, Thanks for your great videos Keep up the good work bro.
Thank you for making this video, Joe. I've been using the B2.1U pedal, a similar version to the B2 but with pedal control, a USB connection and an XLR out, since 2007. This pedal is still on my pedalboard chain to this day and I use a lot of signal processing on this pedal since it has amp modeling plus the cabinet, XLR out directly to the FOH and I use the return channel on the bass amp (if I need it). Combination with stomp boxes only for Fuzz, Bass Synth and Pre-Amp sounds (at the start of the chain), plus the addition of a new model from the Zoom MS6-B for newer processing Amp and Cabinet simulations, but thanks to XLR out, this pedal is always on the final chain of my pedalboard. This pedal serves me a lot and saves the live setting for my band. Anyway, great review and video
I really enjoyed this video entirely. I loved your honesty and I really like the track you made. I respect what toy said and I learned a lot from your commentary. It made me want to check it out myself to see what u can discover. Thank you for sharing with us all.
sitting Beside me now ZOOM B2.1U I Use it for My yamaha RGX Yes He works perfectly as A guitar pedal U have just To tweak The effects and safe them And Believe me when i say he is better than the G zoom Because he made for the bass he is more powerful If U know what i mean
Agreed way easier. The B2 sounds better too imho and no ground noise problems unlike what I had with the B1x. Maybe the octaver tracking could be better though...
The C1 effect is the one configured by the previous owner. Factory effects are numbers without letters. You could get such and better sound yourself by using the settings. I'm writing through a translator, sorry.
No. From user manual : (C1) ODB Simulates the ODB-3 overdrive bass machine from Boss. Proper mixing of original sound gives fat overdrive without losing bass response.
Bought one years ago. I only ever used the presets. I’d go through phases of using the SVT mode. Then I’d try others. Never used the knobs on the top….always the A0-whatever it went up to. Then I’d try other amp sounds. Not great, has loads of effects that you are never going to use, but it did the job for me. Yes…you need the manual for easy patch access. But when you find the ones you want, you are sorted. I still occasionally use it, but I use the built in EQA sounds on my Fender Rumble. I also use a Dunlop MXR DI80 if I’m not using my Fender Rumble.
If you just need compression, EQ and saturation to sculpt the bass sound a little for live sound, these boxes come up all the time locally for 35€. The next step up is paying 90€ for a B1Four. No thanks; the B2 will do fine.
It's a really good little box. I just didnt like the flanger fx so i added an electro harmonix flanger to get the post punk sound i wanted to have. I even used it on stage!
I still have a soft spot for the Zoom B2 an B2.1u that I've been using since 2005, far from perfect especially today but there is a lot of utility and groovy tones. I have several of them and have perfected the sounds I needed from standard fare using the Bassman or B15 models and room verb to some pretty out there effects patches. I have one B2 filled with synth sounds, I replaced my Deep Impact with it.
I've had this same pedal since 2010, it still works. But agreed it's so complicated. I've never changed anything on ir been game to adjust the knobs on top. I only use the various different patches using the bottom 2 foot buttons
Joe, I lived in Japan when the Zoom B2 was initially sold, and bought one immediately after it was released. I still have it in 2024, and use it for some gigs. I believe you, being a good guitar player (but not so good bass player), gave a terrible review of the B2. I can play guitar, drums, and piano, but would never review any of their accessories like I was a professional on those instruments. Many of us old-school bass players love this little pedal, and what it can do. In 2024, it is not the cleanest pedal, but we are not always looking for the cleanest pedal. A little aging on your part, and staying in your own lane, will improve what you write in your reviews.
Thanks for the vid ! But all I can say is...rtfm...!!!!! :-D The pedal has much more possibilities than mentioned / found. You are right about the display though ! :-)
So even before I played guitar, I had a friend that had one of these for guitar, and even as a non player I thought it was cheesy. Fantastic, and very relatable, product walkthrough!

After owning the b2 and the newer b1 four, I must say I like the older b2 better. Easier to navigate thru, alot better build quality.
That's interesting to know! This thing certainly feels sturdy.

I like that breakdown/outro.

I think they’re great for entry level gear!
@@JoeHamilton absolutely!
Was curious, did you edit the c1 preset at all before recording with it?
Legendary
Talvez, encuentres un tutorial en TH-cam de como consultar el manual de usuario que cada aparato trae de fabrica.
These videos are awesome
Thank you so much!
Can you use a guitar with these pedals?
I fucking love RBass. Use it on my snare too!
Oooo never used it on snare before - have used it mainly on kick and bass!
is C1 patch is able for deathcore genre or what are fx needed for deathcore? please help
Yep you're 'bloody' right dude...
you failed. Maybe you should learn to play the bass before publicly exposing your (tee hee) talent.
Read the manual!!!
Zoom.. lol
