    Hey Etho, the math behind energized nodes is this:
    The total amount of CV that you get from each aspect is the square root of the initial aspect. For example,
    16 vis yields 4 cv, which is .04 vis/tick
    25 vis yields 5 cv
    100 vis gives 10cv
    10000 vis is 100 cv
    So, the cost for higher CV increases exponentially.
    There are ways to 'grow' a node, your method being very low on the list.
    Also, I'm glad you found out about the trivection chamber. However, I would recommend pulverizing wheat into flour

    • @audixas1
      @audixas1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Then how come he got 5 cv from 34 vis and 4 cv from 31? Square root of 34 is around 5,8 which is 6 when rounded and 31 is 5.5, which is also 6.

    • @audixas1
      @audixas1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I don't doubt that. But in Etho's case, it wasn't sqaure root.

    • @natesky6603
      @natesky6603 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm almost certain it takes the floor of the square root. So the highest integer value from square rooting the total primals. Compounds add to both component aspects until all final aspects are primal. if you have 99 vis terra node, it will most likely give a 9 cv node.
      NOW, since nodes are fickle and random, keep in mind that upon being energized/deenergized, they might change aspects around. That terra node you zapped might gain a different aspect, or even lose some vis upon being deenergized. Also remember that pale nodes suffer a -50% cv penalty, and bright nodes get a +50% cv increase

    It's funny seeing Etho do all this super complicated stuff, yet he struggles to build a cobble generator, or a mob system in the team Canada series

    Hey Etho, you should find a hungry node for thaum craft. Hungry nodes will eat items that are thrown into it, and then gain an aspect from the item it ate. You can make a small tree farm and auto craft the wood into crafting tables, and throw the crafting tables into it automatically. crafting tables have every primal aspect, so after a while of feeding it those you will have a huge node that can have thousands of each aspect points in it.

      They are also very dangerous, (if they are still the same as what they used to be that is).

      @bluemooshroomgames6678 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      if he does find one of those hungry nodes, he better have obsidian on him, because if i remember correctly they cannot eat up that obsidian(we already get the deal with bedrock). now idk if THAT was changed so my thought on the obsidian could be wrong.

    Etho if you want your toast machine to be even more broken what you can do is process the wheat through a sag mill which will create several flour from one wheat after that you can have it go into those redstone furnaces, also adding flint or dark steel balls in the sag mill also helps produce even more flour. Hope this helps and keep up the great work :)

    The autonomous activator was on 'no sneak' mode, try enabling it maybe it does work :o

    • @Starfloofle
      @Starfloofle 8 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      I strongly doubt it will, to be honest. Autonomous activators and similar devices utilize FakePlayers in order to mimic the functions of a real player, which means, most likely, it would be trying to send the FAKE player into the Ender IO spot.
      That said though, I've seen a bunch of bizarre things with those fakeplayers and it could be possible it may fetch the nearest player, like what happens when you use one to remove an item from a tinkers' construct casting basin/table.

    • @mattp12

    what happens with the autonomous activator is that its a fake player so when the staff is clicked, just the fake player sees the ender io, you can autonomous activator use a copy of the book from thaumcraft so the fake players learn the recipes then use a staff to craft for example. (sorry for my bad english).

  • @davishall
    @davishall 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Energizing a node doesn't just divide by 8, it takes the square root. So after a certain point it isn't worth growing a node anymore as you need huge amounts of vis to get one CV.

      I dont think its intended to be used as a teleporter, it just allows you to see and interract with objects around but since interacting with the chair causes you to sit on it, it just teleports you there. Kinda neat but cheaty too :P
      I guess you could be creative with this mechanic. Im sure it works with minecarts as well.

    There is a couple cool blocks in enderio I think you should try out;
    Wireless Charger: charges items that take power in your inventory
    Vibrant (or regular) capacitor bank: you can connect them to form a very large power storage. You can limit power input and output with them. Also, if you right click them with a wrench, you can make a screen that will show you the amount of rf input and output. This may be a good idea for the information board above your ME system
    Also, for the energized node, when you make a node energized, it breaks down its aspects, so if you have a node with humanus, it will break down into all 6 aspects, then you can have one node to power everything with centivis

    The truly powerful cross-mod botania mana gen is the cake reactor. You should look it up online. The central idea is to use air infused fire to turn water into cake (kind of a special feature/Easter egg), and use kekimurus to eat cake and generate mana. You get essentially infinite mana at no maintenance cost, and a large setup can generate at a pretty crazy rate. I filled up 16 mana pools in a few Minecraft days.

    The centi-vis value is the square root of the node's original amount of stored vis. Though, it also rounds down, meaning even if you had 48 vis of a particular aspect in a node, you'll get 6 centi-vis, instead of 7 centi-vis of the respective aspect. You should also note that some machines in Thaumcraft can require up to 10 centi-vis to run at their greatest ability.

    If you come across a "hungry node" from thaumcraft, there is a procedure to make it really strong.
    1. Make a treefarm just outside the "sucking-radius" from the node.
    2. Make crafting tables from the wood.
    3. send the crafting tables towards the node (or place them inside the "sucking radius")
    4. Wait a long time. (if needed, you'll have to chunkload the area)
    5. if the node is good enough (it can pretty much grow indefinite, but since the CV is the square root from the normal vis, around 100 from every element is pretty good) turn it into a tainted one (can be done with one of the items, but I do not recall which one)
    6. Place the node where you want it. (You'll need that "node in a jar" research thing)
    7. stabilize and energize the node (if you do not do this, you'll need some "Ethereals blooms" to purify the area from all the flux the node will create).
    8. You have yourself a "uber-node!!" congratz!
    Now do whatever you wanted to do with it.
    (TIP: Thaumic energistics is an Applied Energistics/Thaumcraft-addon that allows both to interact with each other, with this mod you can make your AE/ME-system make a lot of stuff, and even automate your rituals better. It even has a way of transporting centivis (CV) throughout your ME-system.)

  • @tuckerjensen4015
    @tuckerjensen4015 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Energized nodes calculate their value by taking the square root of the original value, so really big nodes give diminishing returns of centivis. I don't know where you heard that it divides by eight.

    Really hope Etho continues going down the thaumcraft tech tree as there is a LOT of new cool things

  • @vodamark
    @vodamark 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's not divided by 8, it's the square root for each primary aspect, rounded down. Plus, a bright node will get a +20% bonus (after the square root, again rounded down) and pale or fading nodes will get a -20% penalty (again rounded down, I believe). So, a node with 25 Aqua will have 5 CV of Aqua. But if it's a bright node, it will have 6 CV and if it's a pale or fading node it will have 4 CV.

  • @Cubitect
    @Cubitect 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    An energized node gets the *square root* of each aspect (rounded down). Compound aspects count towards *each primal* aspect that it contains. So a node which contains 25 humanus and 50 terra would turn into an energized node with a CV output of 5 for each primal, but with 7 terra!

    Hunt for a compound node with humanus or whats its name as one of its ingredient and you are guaranteed a node with every aspect, you can also feed hungry nodes with crafting benches or other things containing humanus, then either taint the node to remove the hungry aspect or spam node energizers until it energizes fully and you can have a giganode in your hands. If you capture the hungry node its like a funky discoball you can throw around.

    Dear Etho,
    You can use an activated Division Sigil and a book on your enchanted sword in a crafting table, to get rid of all the enchantments, or an enchanted book to get rid of a specific enchantment.
    This way you don't have to re-craft the sword, you just have to re-enchant it.
    Hope this helps!

    Simple way to get huge node
    1.get vacuum node or void node
    2.surround node with obsidian except top
    3.make bottomless barrel about 64 blocks above node
    4.make a wireless ME system that auto feeds certain blocks into the barrel
    5.make farm that send said blocks into the wireless port
    6.surround all machines in obsidian
    7.wait for the node to consume hundreds of thousands of blocks
    8.wait for said node to become massive (10000 or so of each)
    9. move to the taint biome, this will make it lose it's suction and turn it into a tainted node
    10.purify it
    11.make it into an energized node
    12.profit

    Etho, the CV amounts are calculated by taking the square roots of the original vis amounts, if the node is pale or bright these amounts are decreased or increased, respectively, by 20%, and then the number is rounded to the closest integer. Ergo, sqrt(34) * 0.8 = 4.66 which rounds to 5.

    • @TheRedReid
      @TheRedReid 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, if you want a lot of CV, I recommend getting a hungry node, and feeding it crafting tables.
