As a veteran this track has broken me. I fought through the PTSD, but I lost brother's who decided it was better to end it. Veterans you are not alone, keep pushing forward. This generation needs you more then ever.
This reaction was so raw and beautiful. As a woman, it’s hard to see men cry. Not because we see any kind of weakness but because we aren’t used to witnessing that level of vulnerability from men. I never hold back tears, I do some at first lol, but nah I'll let it out, and never have I had a anyone think I'm weak or whatever, but I'm not an average male and there's no question lol, plus usually I get angry when I start crying or whatever, growl and crap lol, for as far as females it'll usually break them... especially when they know I'd hunt someone down for them or whatever being their protector, same as guys....I hold everything on my shoulders for anyone close to me...same for animals lol which I'm guessing why I'm so good with animals, especially dogs, even if not mine, or little kids the parents aren't the best of taking care of

Man having served for 5 years, I've lost one of my closest buddies form suicide while we were in Afghanistan,being a veteran it's hard man, when they tell you, you have PTSD, anxiety, depression, it hits you different, this song man, this song is a master peace.

@@veteranreacts I'm gonna spend the next who knows how long breaking it down as a real relationship I spent so many years arguing with "myself" breaking up with "myself don't know why I never looked at it from your perspective my mind is going deep now knowing that drugs were really the love of my life for so many years I've been clean for 10 yrs and still randomly yell,Fuck! Remembering all the dumb shit I did I think it's time to really breakdown that relationship and the trauma it caused that's might be what finally gives me peace, thanks man you might have just changed my whole life 🤙🏽

Hey brother, My whole family are Veterans. My 70yr old mother was a Marine, My father was a Green Beret Vet in Vietnam rescuing POW's. (literally Rambo), Brother an AirBorne Army Ranger, and I myself was in for a short time. My father with PTSD and Alcohol held a gun to my mothers head while she was pregnant with me and she left him. I never met the man before he passed in 2016 and the 2 step fathers I had were not educated and didn't teach us anything meaningful. I've gone through a ton of junk in my life but I have an amazing mind (I think?!) If you or anyone else need to vent or whatever pls don't hesitate.

From a wife and mother of a son that's just starting his life in the season of being a provider of his own little family, I try and do anything I can to show them both they are more than perfect. They both can have those times where they feel like they are better off being alone, at that time, as a woman I feel powerless, so I just try to reinforce how much they are wanted and loved.
Ladies, if you're with a man, and you check on him or he just decides to confide in you and tells you things on his heart. NEVER EVER use that information in a fight against him later. He'll never tell you another thing like that and NEVER truly trust you again with his heart. He may still love you, but won't trust you with his emotions.

As a White male in my 60's who also served this country and experienced my fathers death from his own hand and my mothers death by the same means 5 months later. That was 42 years ago. Hearing you say you had thought at one time of self harm brought tears to my eyes. Every day I wake up, I thank the lord and know that I have unfinished work here on earth. Know that there are brothers and sisters out there who want to help with any emotional support you might need. I wish you all the success you can find in your life my brother, God bless you.

I'm not sure what was harder to hear the song or that you didn't think you were worth enough. I may not know you personally but you are a human being no person should ever believe they are worthless. God loves all his children and each one of us matter to him. God knew what he was doing when he gave you your son. Becoming a parent makes the world look different the big things don't seem so big and the small things become much more important. You seem like a good man the fact you took the time to go to parenting classes speaks volumes. Always remember you will never be worthless to your son and he will always need you even when he's 60. ❤ 🇺🇲

If this hits you just so, and you have even a decent woman in your life, just walk up to her, and hug her... hard. Don't say anything till YOU are ready to let go. When you pull back, look her in the eye, and say "thanks, I needed that, thanks for being here". She will be blown away. Being a man isn't about not feeling, it's about making her think your feelings are about her without making her feel they are because of her.

As a 2 time combat veteran, it was always taught to me that if you cry you are weak. It is only now 14 years after my last combat tour that I am learning it is ok to talk about and cry about our feelings and the things that happen, then this track drops and Dax amazes me again this track hits the nail on the head Dax has become an extremely motivational artist for myself. # Suicide is a permanent end to a temporary problem, coming from a man who has attempted and failed as well as had several battle buddies see it as the better route out. As a man who has taught the 12 steps twice and won but yet I failed because I always spiral back to alcohol although I am highly functioning it is my go too alcohol will get me through anything

3rd verse, buddy singing is practically crying at the end during the chorus part. I don't think many people notice it or at least don't comment on it.
Older Army Vet here and when I first heard this song I didn't realize how close to the surface this is.I wanted all women to hear it and listen and understand. Life is hard when you carry the weight as expected every single day. My mother said to support your wife's feelings and dreams above my own. Tell her only what she needs to know is what my father told me. Sometimes it hard being on that wall but I do it proudly. Sometimes its hard when the hard times come which are more often than not it seems. The Army taught us to complete the mission so my family has always been mine. Keep Strong Brother you got it!
