Love to support helpful people! Before I order the filter removal kit, I want to confirm the link is the correct one. Amazon says it's NOT compatible with my 2023 Tundra????
Hi, the 2023 Tundra uses a new oil filter that is unique to it. However, the end of the filter that the filter removal tool fits onto is the same, so it will work for you. Thanks for the support!
@@mikeeeeee555 unfortunately, I don’t have access to one of those trucks right now, but if I ever do, I will make the video. Don’t know how long that might take though 🙁
@Viktor_G_Automotive thanks for the response, however isn't that the cap wrench for 5.7L, 4.7L, and 4.0L tundras? That's what the amazon page shows. I was looking for the size of wrench for the 3.4L Twin Turbo 2022 to current engine tundras? Maybe I'm wrong, thanks for any further info!
@@sewaldo69 Toyota only uses 2 oil filter and/or cartridge cap sizes. The 3.4 L twin turbo engine spin on filter has the same size as the oil filter cartridge cap on the 5.7 L engine. Cheers!
This 0 weight oil is super thin which makes reading how full it is on the dipstick really hard when the oil is new and clean. Any tips on how to determine the actual fill level???
@@CobraChamp you could try shining a light on the dipstick to see the reflection or use a napkin and dab at the dipstick until you see the napkin wet from oil. But if you put the specified amount of oil in, it will be at a good level.
I have a hybrid like yourself. Is there a way to keep the engine on so the oil can circulate properly, the hybrid will obviously turn off after a little bit
Yes, there is a way to put the vehicle into a maintenance/inspection mode which will make the engine run all the time without shutting off. I can make a video one day. Alternatively, you can just give it a bit of throttle, which will make the engine run as well. You only need to run it for 15 seconds or so anyway to circulate the oil around the engine.
Viktor, i see there is about 3070 miles on that truck, is that the first oil change? I am trying to figure out when i am gonna do my first one on my new 2024, the book says 10,000 miles, i am not gonna do that. 3000 doesn't sound to extreme and of course, older motors were the first 1000 miles you do the "break in oil change". Just curious on your opinion on this particular truck/year. Thanks!
That is my friend’s truck, that was the first oil change, we are going to be doing them every 5K miles or so. That’s what I’d do on my personal vehicle.
This is a very big topic and I am not an expert on all the differences between oil brands. I have personally used Mobil 1 for years and am happy with it.
2:18 that 0w-20 literally sounds like water splashing in the drain pan. No wonder toyota is seeing seized engines. 20 weight is barely suitable for a naturally aspirated engine never mind the heat a dual turbo charged engine produces. I’m willing to bet moving to a 0w-30 to get rid of the failed engines toyota is seeing in this generation truck.
Thanks Viktor, you saved me a lot of time for my first oil change on my 24 Tundra.
@@jigarzasu glad to hear the video helped!
Very nice walk through Viktor! Thank you for the step by step instructions and for including the Toyota part numbers!
Glad you liked it!
Great video. Thanks. Suggestion for another video: 2022-2024 Tundra grease and torque propellor shaft.
Great suggestion!
Do a video on changing both the differentials and transfer case.
Sounds good 👍
Badly needed!
Great Job Viktor As You Alway Do. I Hope You Are Doing Well. 👍
Thank you Stephen!
Fantastic Video. Thank you!!!! New Subscriber.
Thank you 😊

Had to do an oil change on this yesterday in a pit oil got everywhere
That sucks
We use an empty plastic water bottle a lot to catch all the oil from the filter
Good idea 👍
Can you do a video on replacing the spark plugs?
Will do if I get a chance, thanks for watching!
please do transmission drain/fill procedure. Everyone says its different and much more difficult with these 3ed gens.
Will do when I get a chance.
@@Viktor_G_Automotive looking forward to it

Great, informative video, thank you! What size is that oil filter cap wrench so i can start changing my oil too? Is it 65mm??
Below is the link for the tool. If you purchase using the link, I may receive a small commission. Thank you!

How do you feel about the Fumoto oil drain valve for the 3rd Gen Tundra's?
I’ve never used one, so unfortunately can’t give you my opinion.
...you don't clean the mating surface on the motor for the filter to avoid grit etc from getting between them?...
Yeah, I wipe it with a rag. Probably just forgot to film that part.

Some new Toyota engines take 0w-8, I wonder how thin that is!
