I work with a lot of drivers coming into our location for the last 20 years of their career and a decent retirement. I got 6 out of 10 of them from my department playing they miss those long over the road hauls. Now I'm building a realistic button box for one of them and he is using his old 9900i International dash as his desk. Eventually I'll wire those gauges up to the game for him too. Thanks for the support we always be trucking.
@intelceleron44 i was thinking about it and realized I do the same thing but different execution. I bought a motorcycle a couple months ago and I love taking long rides to no where, I just like the driving lol
there is a severe lack of relaxing driving games since every game tries to be a tryhard racing game. this brings people to games like city car driving/beamng initially, but those lack realistic traffic simulation and such, which then brings people out to try ATS/ETS2, sending them into the rabbit hole of trucking without even realizing it. all because they wanted a chill drive. it was the same case for me. i got my simulator equipment for drifting, a little bit of rally and driving to de-stress. not much into GT3/formula racing and such, but i could not for the life of me find an adequate game for simple relaxing driving on highways with a huge map, where you are encouraged not to drive like a maniac as with other games. then i saw the truck simulator and here i am.
Modding ATS for realism led me to uncover a passion for trucks I had buried. My dad was a trucker. He did everything, and was like Hank Snow. He’s been everywhere xD he always told me to stay away from trucking but I love these machines. I am getting my CDL currently and working toward buying myself a RNG lowboy and truck to tug equipment around. I love trucking. I love the trucks, the sounds, the people, the sights and smells, the long days, the hard work, the radio and the excitement to get home. I have worked in trucking or trucking adjacent industries my entire adult life and am so excited to finally be licensed. I have driven all types of heavy equipment for many many hours but there is nothing like floating up through 13-18 gears, the sound of downshifts and Jake brakes,UHG. I love this shit
I've seriously been waiting since day 1 release for someone to go full realism on the sim. As a truck driver myself there is nothing worse than some of these 150mph no damage no fine streamers and videos
Agree. Accidentally clicked on a random convoy tonight and watched 3 minutes of NFS in ATS. The simulator is meant for realism. The devs and the mods are helping create one of the best and and most actuate sims ever. And Mr.Modded is taking the ATS to a whole new level.
@@daviddryden8088 One could argue you might as well just actually drive a truck at that point :D Most realistic experience of truck driving you can have, if that's what you're looking for. Games are still games, and will be used however the user wishes to. I don't see why the extreme sim people get mad at people playing a game for fun.
@@dancingqueen7031 Money, risk, responsibility, licensing, training, literally a solid list of reasons as to why someone might want a "realistic" experience of trucking, instead of the real thing. One could argue that getting mad at people ruining their immersion is just as valid as people who get confused at people who play for immersion. I feel like there needs to be separate maps for "immersion" and "arcade" play. That way both types can play without getting in the way of the other.
Just started using this economy mod myself and it transforms the game. Been having to watch my fuel mileage, tracking my expenses and looking for good rates for loads. This is how the game should be played
I was recently out on the West coast visiting family. My nephew drives in WA, OR, and BC (Canada). He needed to make a short run to pick up an empty trailer and bring it back to the yard, so I tagged along. It was my first time in a semi, and I loved it! So here I am. Looking forward to learning and playing this game. I'll just be playing with an xbox controller, but if I really get into it maybe I'll get a wheel and pedals. I come from a flight sim background (I worked on the F-22 Raptor and flew in the actual weapons training simulators), so I like it realistic.
CF Trucker John here 👋 I'm so glad you're starting this series and going full hardcore on it ! Hype hype ! I'll be following every episode and starting my own owner operator profile, using the same mods. Let's see if we can make it to level 9 😁 Let's gooooo
Glad I found the channel just in time for the first episode of the series. This promises to be a lot of good YT fun! Watching you park those doubles on Twitch was way beyond my pay grade.
So you don't end up in the same predicament, start running a cloud backup program (Dropbox/one drive etc) and have it pointed directly to the directory with your save games. Don't want you investing ages grinding to your lvl 10 or just make it across that milestone to lose it all again due to pc issues. Keep that puppy backed up. Looking forward to this series Mike!
Glad you're restarting this series! I also restarted my playthrough once the used trucks became official. As far as this mega hardcore mode, I'll just catch it here and on Twitch. You forgot to explain "kicking the tires!" Good sounds like thunk, bad sounds like thonk. haha. Keep on keepin on!
As a former semi company driver and a flight sim enthusiast... This hits hard some kind of 'Uncanny Valley' to me: It is like flight-sim level of realism, but they are trucks. It is like, my old work, but in a simulation. It's both weird and fun to watch! Count me in! You've got a new subscriber!
Stumbled upon this by accident and .. glad that I did. Been on ETS/ATS for a while but never really got into ATS mostly. Then i recently jumped into VR and i started liking ATS. Now i am using the Beta Version of the economy mod with some graphical enhancements and .. i really really like ATS here. My mindset changes a lot when running the mod on how i approach the game and thats doing wonders for me. Also ofc i do find the series interesting and also the tidbits of insights from you, given i am not a professional truck driver at all.
Very good introduction...I like the idea of a owner operator profile series. I just joined your "party". I hope to be able to stick around. Thank you for this. You inspire me to do better with the sim...Like Microsoft used to say: "It's not a game, it's a simulator".
Does anyone else who drives, find it hilariously ironic that the realistic companies mod puts DG/FD at that market.. because that’s about what it takes to back into one of those damn stores.. 😂
as a Peterbilt parts counter employee i find this fascinating. i dont directly work on these but im responsible for finding the parts and billing them out for the technicians who do work on the trucks or just selling parts to customers in general. i also find it hilarious that the trucks in the game work 1000x better than the real life trucks. for example, we had some trucks get delivered from the Dayton Ohio plant and as per policy we have to service the new trucks with new fuel filters, oil filters, a coolant filter and several other odds and ends. well this batch got dropped off and each truck had over 87 electrical errors all of which had to be diagnosed and fixed. brand new 2023 579 trucks and all of them (i think they delivered nine overall) had electrical errors due to the plant missing something. needless to say i have talked to the local KW (Kenworth) and they have had the same issue before with their trucks from their plants. wild that this happens at all honestly, anyways very excited to see how this series progresses.
oh and just because i just noticed. i do work to jobs, so my primary is at Peterbilt, and my second which is a part time job is at Wal-Mart as a personal shopper. i thought that was pretty ironic and wanted to share that. okay now i will shut up.
Love the start to this series and I've recently been craving a fresh start on ATS myself. Is there somewhere i can view a list of your modifications along with your settings? I'm always looking for more immersive experiences in my sims and while I'm not sure I'm quite up for the progression outlined in this playthrough, I'd certainly love a more realistic experience driving wise and a more evenly paced progression compared with vanilla. Keep up the awesome work.
We're a Heavy Haul and Recovery company in real life, my grandson and I play the multi player. When we're not busy with jobs. There are a lot of things I like to change for the game to be more realistic, but this is a sim game. Wish I could talk to the makers of the game for better accuracy in-game.
Hey Mike, just curious how you're able to look out the window with the Tobii eye tracker? I have mine set up but it doesn't seem to lean out the window like it does when you use a mouse / joystick axis.
You also call the hazard lights “four ways.” Interesting! My mom did that as well so I used to call them four ways until I went to college and folks were like “those are hazards, not four ways. Four ways are the stop signs.” I feel somewhat validated lol!
props for diung this, just remove the numberplate as that would fall of during your first haul :D your FOV mod for mirrors is seems not to be working, try to put it above any truck mod you have.
Great idea this Mike you’ve even inspired me to do this along with you. Will start a new profile tomorrow and crack on with it as this sounds like fun for seeing if I can do it as well as I do irl lol😂 is this new series in the twitch schedule now?
Yeah if you wanna get technical I’d even raise the legs a bit off the ground to relieve any pull on the legs. I would NEVER pull with the legs touching the ground.
It seems like a cool idea for role playing, and great for a YT channel like this, but I just feel like it's going to end up being a little too grindy for most people. Assuming you are driving 12 hours a day in-game that's 36 minutes of real time per in-game day at the 1: 20 time ratio on highways. Not sure how many days are in a year in this game, but assuming 365 days that's 13,140 minutes or 219 hours of real time. I'm not even accounting for the 1:3 time ratio that occurs when you are in cities, and in rest areas. That's a lot of real time just to earn your first in game truck. If you were able to pull off 500 miles per day you could hit 100,000 miles in 200 in game days. At 36 minutes per day that's 120 total hours of real time. Slightly more manageable, but still a whole lot of time. Seems like a really cool well thought out mod, but maybe we have hit a point of too much realism in ATS with this one.
I am a huge fan of maximum realism and have always been trying to make ETS 2 and ATS more realistic. I used to start a new profile every time I managed to improve it (to have a clean, uninterrupted realistic playthrough). Last time I played was a few years ago. I couldn't find a good enough economy mod back then, so I kept doing my own. Didn't play much since the Cargo update (I didn't get to adapt my mod to the new economy system). And now I have been away from my computer since 2022, so I can't play anything for now. I hope to one day get back to gaming.
couple of questions ??? what size is ur extension for yo ur shifter im getting one and i sit about as high as u do and thats perfect length also how do u like that button box with the cb plug ive heard there not that solid compared to some of the other button boxes.... trying to make it as close as i can to my actual irl truck
You're missing the most important reality tool that makes this 100% realistically immersive: VR. Nothing is better than a 1:1 scale 3-D view. I know it doesn't make good videos, so try playing this on your own in VR once.
I did start playing ats since ets2 was my thing i Bought all the dlc including some jon ruda's mods and now i'm on lvl 24 with 11 drivers but still making money very hard. For exemple a job worth of 1800 miles gives me around 8k or 9k. And i'm on lvl 24 the hard economy (hard mode) as i said, took 2 million $ and like i said i still make money very hard.
when u get out of in truck camera mod and ur just in follow camera and then hit 0 it normally puts me out to the side of the truck instead of underneath
I have a problem with my Thrustaster T300. I load the game and start driving and after 1000ft there is like a little stutter and after that the T300 and the the ingame stearingwheel are not aligned anymore. Not a huge fan of the load payouts on base game. Makes everything so easy. Ive only really played using the economy mod. So im pretty exciting to see wherw you go with it
the only thing i would add was a supposily house and you need to go by yourself to the company with your car or your uber maybe something like this search ets RP
Been driving for about 15 years now and the fact that this exists as a game people play for entertainment is killing me lmfaooo Keep on trucking!

It relaxes me. Been driving for 7 and I come home to my 389 and just listen to my straight pipes wipe away the stress from the day.

Can’t wait for more of this!! Hardly anyone is doing realism to this level and I’m beyond excited
Glad I found the channel just in time for the first episode of the series. This promises to be a lot of good YT fun! Watching you park those doubles on Twitch was way beyond my pay grade.

Love the RP stuff Mike! Great idea with this series.
Loving this series already. Please keep uploading progress to YT cos timezone differences mean live streams don't work for me. Happy truckin.

Love the GDC logistics mod, cant wait for this ones full release!
Sucks the other profile got lost. But hey you can always start again and do it even better. Thanks for the content Mike.
This sounds dope. Excited to see the process.

Considering your truck doesn't have cross over mirrors your doing really well.

Love the content Mike keep it coming it is what it is
Hard core RP? I’m lovin’ it.
So excited to try this!
Keep up the good work mike
I’d love to see the old Cummings mod as a used truck that’s been the main thing I’ve wanted to see since the update!

That's that hundred eight point pre-trip 11:22
Go for it I want to see 👀 this 😂
As a trucker myself this is awesome. I want this game but need to build a pc first been on console my entire life 😂
You can do it!
Air test ? 😂 Just kidding nice content i transport Steel been 10 years 4 axels flat bed your inspection was not that bad keep trucking hell yhea
😂 15 years of driving IRL I'm bound to miss something some where but she goes down the road well 🤣
When this new economy mod version is out for grabs?
I have trackir but for driving games, I am using only a normal webcam and open track, seems to work ok.
I’m only 2:30 in…
I am wondering if live streams will be a part of this series. I prefer when there are not. Takes me out of the RP.
Will you post your setup i.e. your shift stick and gauge dashboard.
hmmm, was behind 2 videos on the last one. Should I finish those?
Same way I lost my profile on ets2 lol. Was so mad I never got back into the game
This will be interesting
Are the parts Properly mounted and secured, not broken cracked or damaged? Or maybe not cut cracked or frayed? IYKYK
couple of questions ??? what size is ur extension for yo ur shifter im getting one and i sit about as high as u do and thats perfect length also how do u like that button box with the cb plug ive heard there not that solid compared to some of the other button boxes.... trying to make it as close as i can to my actual irl truck
Sir this is a game im not here for a cdl training refresher lol this was a good vid
I love the games ❤

Is this available on Playstation
where did you get the Walmart trailers?
Kenworth that's where my dad works!
when u get out of in truck camera mod and ur just in follow camera and then hit 0 it normally puts me out to the side of the truck instead of underneath
Had to kick that door open in order to get it in that Dollar General.
Hahahahaha
That bloody thing is bigger than my house lol
I have a problem with my Thrustaster T300. I load the game and start driving and after 1000ft there is like a little stutter and after that the T300 and the the ingame stearingwheel are not aligned anymore. Means I need to holt the T300 to the right or left to drive straight. I can disconnect and reconnect the T300 but after a short time its the same. I think the issue started after connecting to world of trucks. I have 600h in the game and this never happened.
Can someone help me?
looks cool man
What control remote do you use
What’s a cheap pc that is still good to play ats on? I’ve been doing a lot of research and I’m just confused on what I should buy
Imma get the asus for 700 its a laptop good for starting anything else will make the graphics trash
How many weeks was the truck in the shop with broken emissions equipment?
😂
What real company mod are u using
Hey, just found your series and I am already hooked. Tried to join the discord to get the beta version but the link to discord is invalid. Can we get an update?
It’s on the most recent episode 👊🏼
as a truck driver myself who as well grew up around them, i find it hard to watch some videos on ats. im not sure why. but that being said i really enjoyed your content.
Ain’t nothing like doin it the real way lol
Is Mike's Twitch gone or something the link the videos description say it is unavailable?
Old link. We’ve rebranded to TheMikePett
It’ll come right up
nice video
Awesome
Do you have any graphics mods? If you have it, can you share where you got it? Or is it a configuration?
In this video no. Config yes there’s a video on it
Not a huge fan of the load payouts on base game. Makes everything so easy. Ive only really played using the economy mod. So im pretty exciting to see wherw you go with it
What mods is he using??
which graphics card is being used???
How did you make the game look more real
Video starts at 13:06
the only thing i would add was a supposily house and you need to go by yourself to the company with your car or your uber
maybe something like this search ets RP
i am a bit late but i am defenlitly sticking until the end
