THIS is the reason it only makes sense to remain objective in this hobby. Your study, awareness, and passion for Action Man and Indiana Jones are the reason this fantastic custom was possible. Well done Tony, as always.
Your custom looks better than the newer 6" figure line. Great video Tony! The fact that you know every type of gun, what scene, etc...and which action man set it came in....damn. that's beyond most of the toy channels out there...
Awesome video, Tony! I really love the idea of imagining what "might have been" for a toy line, and I definitely agree that Action Man had a lot of the essential components to build out a fully realized Indiana Jones toy line. Nicely done, sir!👍
I can understand Lucas going with Kenner after the success they had with Star Wars figures. But this is an interesting scenario to explore. It likely would have been something Palitoy ran with. I love the way you and Michael build figures or groups for you figure and explain your choices. Can see the work or thought put into your videos.
Thanks Tony what a highly enjoyable and great produced video. Also your custom Indy figure is absolutely superb. This is why your channel is growing all the time.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This was an excellent short piece on Indy, Palitoy, and a soldier with a child’s heart, squeezing every last drop of enjoyment from his favorite toy line. Thank you. Instructive and enjoyable.
Fun fact, the bikes driven by the Germans in Last Crusade, were actually modern bikes with all that gear strapped over them to conceal their inaccurate look to that era.
Has a guy the age of 52 I was there when all of these toys were released for both Star Wars and Raiders of the lost. I remember wanting an Indiana Jones 12 inch figure, but could never afford it looking back at this video. I didn’t realize just how bad the toy was designed. I love this channel it brings back so many memories. I also appreciate the fact that you understand history, as well as firearms.
Great video Tony! Definitely all the ingredients were there for Pallitoy to use should they have been inclined to do an Indy line. Awesome still and onsite filming, PH makes for a decent Egypt stand in.
A movie line of clothing for Action Man, would've been fantastic. Even ones based on Sci Fi comic characters. Imagine a Judge Dredd outfit in the AM range.
I had the entire collection of Star Wars 12” and the single Indy 12”. You’re absolutely right, it was a bit of a brokedick version, especially the fedora. However, the face sculpture did make up for it, even though it made it more of a collectors item. Given I was 10 years old I would’ve wanted something to play with though.
this is going to be awesome I never knew palit toy considered making Indy toys thank you Tony for always sharing your toy knowledge with us I appreciate it 👍
I would like to take a moment and appreciate the opening of this video and how it recreates the paramount logo fading to a similar shape as the mountain, in this case the tent , great detail that foreshadows the same amount of awesomeness that this video is ❤ as a Canadian Indy fan, I tip my Fedora off 🎉
I’m saddened that the Hasbro Indy line didn’t do so well. I’ll admit, I didn’t get them because I’ve been focused on my Classified and Action Force collections. Well done on this video. It was very informative and entertaining.
Another fantastic video Tony! My first ever exposure to Action Man was in the 90s through the cartoon. I didn’t even realise there was a whole series before that. I’ve learnt a lot of toy history since finding your channel a few years ago, and can see the passion and love that you have for the line. And to marry that with Indy, it really was a missed opportunity for Palitoy!
Great idea, Tony nice custom figure too. There are so many properties that Palitoy should/could have licenced for the Action Man line, The Professionals seems like an oblivious choice for a licence deal in the 80's too.
Great video. Fun to see one from the vintage action man again. So many videos are now on modern toys. Also, thanks for the editorial at the end. Very important!! That’s why I love the old toys and movies. Keep it up Trooper !!
Thanks for sharing your Palitoy/Indiana Jones project. I was introduced to Action Man through the NAAFI when I was posted to Berlin as an American soldier. Later, I kit bashed an Indiana Jones figure using a Kenner Harrison Ford/Hans Solo head on another body and whatever I could find to fit the Indiana Jones image--I managed to find a Browning High Power pistol in scale and a Webley revolver and a Smith and Wesson. Your explanation of why you stuck with Palitoy as much as possible is valid. Sometimes, though, you had to use someone else's products or it just wouldn't be Indiana Jones.
Tony that was fantastic. I love how you built up the line with your amazing knowledge of the Palitoy Acton Man sets. It is truly sad that this never cam to fruition. I’d love to see more like this.
I found this channel only a few weeks ago, this being my first video. Thanks to this video, i made my own action man into indiana jones using this a base guide, and im so glad i did it looks awesome and brings me so much joy Keep up the good work and your inspiring videos!!
Fantastic video, love this! Brings back memories of me using a tank commander brown jacket, a cowboys hat and a leather bootlace for a whip to make my own Indy figure who fought against my German figures! Definitely a missed opportunity to have had a real Indy set!
I was like that with Star Wars [When it first came out 77/78] when I had to pretend my Lego figures and Lego were Star wars [Before having much of a SW collection] and WISHED "Lego made Star Wars...."
I love, when these videos unexpectedly solve mysteries. Action man is from long before my time, but I have the weapons shown at 07:15 and 12:45. I never knew where they were from until now.
Possibly one of the best videos you’ve done. Love the attention to detail, and facts. You got to be honest, though, Michael French helped with this right?😂😂 just kidding. Truly enjoyed it. You’re gonna have to go back though, and give everybody the appropriate pit, stains, and back sweat.
i love your ideas in this video so much! its absolute perfection! i honestly want to see someone re-create the trilogy of films using everything you described in this video! 😁
I think you hit on a lot of points for why I have such place in my heart for 70s Joe Adventure Team. A cross between Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider, and James Bond (in a way lol) Brilliant video! 🎉
Great stuff. I got a laugh out of Kenner's Indy Gandalf hat. The tank was made as a toy, a 'Micro Action Tank' as a park exclusive as was the Raiders Flying Wing. They are fairly easy to get on the secondary market. I always felt there should have been at least one Indy movie set entirely in China. The 'waiter' who dies at the start of Temple of Doom has 'been on many adventures' with Indy.
Great video... makes me wish I had gotten into 12 inch as a kid (now I have a few Captain Actions in my collection). I never understood all the hate for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull... yeah it had some silly moments but it also had some great action scenes in exotic locales which is what I want from Indy.
Action Man was whatever 12" figure I wanted him to be. Take a dynamic physique Action Man, stip his cloths, pair him with Panthor and Zoar from Masters of the Universe, and give him Lion-O's Sword of Omens from Thundercats, along with Action Man's satchel bag, and boom - he's Beastmaster. Take a black SAS overall, the helmet, boots and gauntlets from the Future Soldier (I forget the proper name, but it's the one Palitoy scaled down for Action Force), give him a Space Patrol blaster and he's Judge Dredd. But my favourite use of Action Man as another character, was taking the cloth suit from a 12" bendy Spider-Man that had long since crumbled to dust, putting it on Action Man, and giving him an SAS hood with Battle of Britain Goggles - and suddenly, Action Man was the web-slinger himself.
It'd be the singular reason I'd want an Action Man figure of Indy's father, so he could sit in the bike's sidecar and look disapprovingly at his son's jousting antics. 😁
I converted much of my action man stuff into Indy related gear after Raiders came out and by the time ToD arrived i had no standard Action Man gear left. It was all Indy.
Great video tony, that indy /action man kit bash is so cool, when i was a kid they're were so many Sci /fi, fantasy tv and film franchises that i wanted palitoy to produce for action man 👍
It’s funny when the most recent Indiana Jones movie came out last year and was set in 1969 I was thinking that was about the same time my parents bought me my first G.I. Joe an Adventure Team Man of Action. So I was thinking it would be cool to have an Adventure Team Indiana Jones.
Oh I'm totally going to make my own Indy now. I'll probably use the cotswold elite brigade body though as the GI Joe muscle body and replicas are a bit hard to come by...but WOW those Hasbro 12" Indy figures have gotten costly too! I have the talking figure mib on the way to me. If I can get a good deal on the whip cracking Indy's head, I might go with that...thanks for the inspiration!! Once he's finished, I bet he'll look great next to my Death Wish figure from Grunga toys.
Holy s**t!!....this could have been so epic! The way you present it seems like it would have been a no-brainer!!! All those perfect accessories . Actually, since I'm American, I'm kinda glad they didn't do it because I'd have been pretty damn jealous! Lol
THIS is the reason it only makes sense to remain objective in this hobby. Your study, awareness, and passion for Action Man and Indiana Jones are the reason this fantastic custom was possible. Well done Tony, as always.
A superb documentary from Tony, proving once again that Palitoy Action Man was and still is, the best action figure toyline, ever made.
SIMPLY A BRILLIANT VIDEO. The production quality is fantastic! You have out done yourself again, Tony!
Your custom looks better than the newer 6" figure line. Great video Tony! The fact that you know every type of gun, what scene, etc...and which action man set it came in....damn. that's beyond most of the toy channels out there...

Thanks Tony what a highly enjoyable and great produced video. Also your custom Indy figure is absolutely superb. This is why your channel is growing all the time.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Your channel is consistantly informative, intelligent and entertaining. 👍👍
Thank you!

How could that Eff this up so badly? This could have been a real money maker. Good job on your adaptation.
Congrats on a fantastic video. Well done Tony!
Thanks for watching Mike!
Somehow, Tony made me smile. How the franchise owners didn't thought of this is mind-boggling.
Outstanding video Sir! From one military vet to another 🫡!!!!
Magnificently done, Tony!

Tony this video is a masterpiece!
This is an outstanding presentation. Well Done!!
This is phenomenal Tony. Truly an excellent video. The fact that this never happened was a travesty
Holy shit! That intro transition 😍
Palitoy the best British toy company ever gone but definitely not forgotten
That woolly "fedora" from the 12" Indy is truly an abomination. How it made it past quality control I'll never know.
Great video
Well done!
Amazing video Tony. Yet again you raise the bar and set the standard for other toy TH-camrs.
The Spanish Geyper Man green motorbike had the sidecar in the correct side and I have mine for my Indy in that scale!
That was spectacular Mate!! Well done. 😁👍

Yes it would of been grate it was all there WOW thank you for your videos
Great Video! Loved it.

I love the video. Always love these what if type videos
Great video. Fun to see one from the vintage action man again. So many videos are now on modern toys. Also, thanks for the editorial at the end. Very important!! That’s why I love the old toys and movies. Keep it up Trooper !!
WOW!!!
The transition at the very beginning was EPIC!!!
Thanks for sharing your Palitoy/Indiana Jones project.

This is truly inspired. A real “what if”. It’s too bad that no one had this foresight at the time. Excellent video sir!!
Thank you Tony for another magnificently executed quality film for our enjoyment. Bravo!!!!
Fantastic episode mate, absolutely loved seeing Indy come together. I’m really enjoying your channel.
Wow, you took everything up a notch with this one, Tony. Great job!
Brilliant.
Tony that was fantastic. I love how you built up the line with your amazing knowledge of the Palitoy Acton Man sets. It is truly sad that this never cam to fruition. I’d love to see more like this.

This is great Tony, this was an amazing insight into what if?
This is absolutely brilliant!! Incredible job Tony!!!❤
I was not searching EBay during this video…at all!!! Brilliantly researched and executed my friend. 👏👏👏
Fantastic video, love this!
Brings back memories of me using a tank commander brown jacket, a cowboys hat and a leather bootlace for a whip to make my own Indy figure who fought against my German figures! Definitely a missed opportunity to have had a real Indy set!

Fantastic video! That rope bridge accessory would have been played with a LOT if I had something like that as a kid.
Thank you for all the effort you put into this. Your videos are so appreciated, and they always have a unique POV not available anywhere else.
Thank you so much Troy!
@@AnalogToys Yeah, just wait until you see that I figured out how to up my Patreon support thanks to @MichaelJShaffer. I'm all over the supporting. :P
Great work Tony, that’s some thorough and well thought out kit bashing. Really shows the advantages of cloth goods over fully plastic figures.
I love, when these videos unexpectedly solve mysteries. Action man is from long before my time, but I have the weapons shown at 07:15 and 12:45. I never knew where they were from until now.
I really enjoyed that video. One of your finest.
So glad you did that shout out for Michael and his Indy 5 Deep Dive. I've been doing all I can to get the word out about that one.
Great Job on creating your own Indiana Jones 12 inch action figure. You Rock!!!
That's an amazing custom figure. If that would have been on the shelves as a kid I would have wanted that
Outstanding custom. Awesome vid, Tony!
Fantastic custom and very interesting and very well researched post! 👏 Like your hat, looks fab. 👌
Absolutely magnificent work on this video. It is truly a work of art. 👏👏👏👏
Another excellent installment. Thank you Tony.
Another great video, Tony! What a killer concept!
Analog Toys 👊😁
Thanks for another great video Tony, your knowledge of Action Man, Indy and military uniforms / weapons made for a very informative video. 👏
i love your ideas in this video so much! its absolute perfection! i honestly want to see someone re-create the trilogy of films using everything you described in this video! 😁

"Kenner's Indy Gandalf Hat" is a great name for a band. ;P
I bet Mr. French really liked this video! I lovE Indy!
Fantastic video, Tony. You have inspired me to go ahead put together my own Indiana Jones figure.

This video belongs ina museum.
Excellent video Tony!
Loved this entertaining and well researched video. Oh and I will ALWAYS pop for a ROM reference.
Great video 👍🏻 would definitely have bought this back in the day
💯 Action Man and Indiana Jones would have indeed been a match made in heaven... Or at least the UK. 😊
Maybe someone should make an action man biplane and then you could have Biggles sets too.
Awesome break down tony 🇺🇸🍻💪🇦🇺
Very good Sir, I love it!
What do you mean.....child in the 80s....I'm 64 and would still like to play with this collection😊
Quality content!
It’s funny when the most recent Indiana Jones movie came out last year and was set in 1969 I was thinking that was about the same time my parents bought me my first G.I. Joe an Adventure Team Man of Action. So I was thinking it would be cool to have an Adventure Team Indiana Jones.
Great video 👍, I myself have made a custom Indy out of 5 inch Doctor Who figures.
Oh I'm totally going to make my own Indy now. I'll probably use the cotswold elite brigade body though as the GI Joe muscle body and replicas are a bit hard to come by...but WOW those Hasbro 12" Indy figures have gotten costly too! Now I know why you didn't use the pants that came with the Hasbro figure...won't fit over the vintage waist..
Indi had a Webley Revolver Army Modal did Action Man have that style to put with your Indiana Jones Custom ?
3:05 how is it possible nobody said NO! before that hat went into production???
