@Luka Maxim Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I've lived in Santa Cruz my entire life. I'm not sure why I'm watching this, but I am. Lol. Also, we have one of the best salt water taffys around. Inky downfall is it's so expensive to live here.
Lauryn Petrie hard to say but i would imagine new york being more expensive since i live in los gatos close to santa cruz! But it also depends on neighborhood
Most underrated ride at the Boardwalk is the carousel. As you go round on horseback, you snag tokens from a dispenser on the end of a boom coming out from the wall. Then you try to chuck them in the mouth a clown on the next wall. It’s a wonder more people don’t lose fingers or fall off the carousel. I totally recommend it!
Fun fact: The Boardwalk was used two horror films, in the film "The Lost Boys" and recently in "Us". Don't forget to walk East Cliff dr. and enjoy the beautiful ocean view, surfers, lighthouse and the natural bridge. Lived in Santa Cruz my whole life and can't see myself moving anywhere else, love it here.
@@billjordan4132 Yes Lost Boys was filmed in Santa Cruz. The Guest Relations Office @ the BW has posters of all the film's that were made fully or partially in SC. Lost Boys, Killer Clowns From Outer Space, US, Bumblebee & many more.
Go to the Shadowbrook Restaurant in Capitola. Very unique on a hillside with a funicular taking you downhill to the restaurant. And for my two cents worth, the wine in Sonoma County is just as good as Napa with a better price point (disclosure: I live there).
Go to Davenport. It’s right up from mission street, just pull over at any of the pull outs on the side of the road and you will find some of nicest and most private beaches you’ve ever been to.
Yeah, that's here a lot. Mostly because Housing Authority is shit and the city only really cares about the people with six figure salaries. Like any other town really. 👍
Santa Cruz is also just 40 miles north of Monterey. New Brighton beach is where the cement boat is located, put there during WWII; really great bakery that also serves lunch called The Buttery on Branciforte; the harbor with hundreds of boats has a great restaurant called Crow's Nest (harbor located between Santa Cruz and Capitola); best place for lunch or dinner is Carpo's in Capitola next, to the off ramp. Hope this helps.
Tips to the tourist traps in Santa Cruz. Try steamers lane on west cliff, and the surfing museum. Capitola if you need touristy, and Rio Del Mar for a less crowded beach experience.
Funny that you said that the Red Wood Forest looks like it's out of a storybook. My son was obsessed with Alice in Wonderland when we went on a California road trip several years ago. We camped up there for two nights, and visited the Red Wood Forest, before taking that train through the forest. Anyway, he got ahead of my husband and I and got lost for a while. He was running ahead of us and looking for big holes in the trees, pretending he was gonna fall through the earth to Wonderland. Needless to say, we were scared until my husband found him five minutes later. However, I was with a forest ranger looking for him, and didn't know he had been found until about 30 minutes later. He was very upset, having lost us. We barely made it in time to the train, but fortunately, all worked out well. I will never forget that. As for the boardwalk, we loved riding the carrousel and trying deep fried Oreos. We tried to go to the Mystery Spot, my son's wish, but didn't realize that we needed reservations. My husband didn't want to wait the 2.5 hours. Another time, though. Great video, as always, Chris! :-)
I'll be at Santa Cruz next week at some point! I'm a blind person, from the UK, coming with my family. I'm thus looking forward to: the boardwalk, the Hallmark shop with the noisy ornaments, and I think my Aunt has booked the steam train. I've got some questions, though. 1: Firstly, the boardwalk: We'll check out the boardwalk as I know there's some rides with sounds and music on such as the haunted castle, ghost blaster and cave train. Hopefully I'll try out Undertoe as well. However my question is, how would you describe the difference between Undertoe and Giant Dipper? Is one more intense than the other? Do they have boardwalk barkers (the people saying to step right up and win a prize, trying to get people to play?)? I've always wanted to hear a real carnival barker in action. I know it's an odd question, but there it is. We don't have barkers in the UK on any of our piers. My next random question, is there anywhere that does chocolate chip cookies? Especially warm ones. Thirdly, is there any live music, or possibly any karaoke bars? Lastly, is there anything else anyone can recommend? I love anything that has audio to go with it especially, or any place with stuff to touch/hands on type approach that could be different. Anything cool for the senses besides vision? Thanks in advance.

Really the first big thing of mine that was yellow was my car.. so I was buying yellow things to match my car. @@jaysato Hmmm.... I do buy alot of yellow stuff... but I wouldn't say yellow everything! My suitcases are red... my jackets are typically black. But if it comes in yellow I'll usually opt for the yellow color :)
Planning to go back to Santa Cruz this summer with some friends I've met at school who have never been there before! That long stretchy Boardwalk by the beach is the only reason why I'm bringing some friends there for the first time! I'm doing the Boardwalk because it has the only carousel I like and the Giant Dipper in which I recently rode this year during Spring Break. Their carousel is a must-ride because riders on the outside row participate in the ring and clown game as well as have a wonderful red horse and a gray horse with white hair that has a decorative head. The gray horse with white hair and a decorative head is my favorite horse in that carousel btw. Other rides I'll do there when I come with friends are Cave Train, Shockwave, the Pirate Ship ride, Undertow, and the most popular ride there, Giant Dipper.
Got the opportunity to walk down the levy for a couple of miles today. The river looked beautiful ,but wow the things I saw were not for the faint of heart. A guy shooting dope into his foot, another guy pooping at the waters edge , three guys under the water Street bridge stripping a pretty nice looking mountain bike ,a bunch of needles and that was before I even got to the camp. I didn't even want to go into the camp but I wandered further down the path where I saw guys hanging out under the highway 1 bridge making multiple dope deals with the PD 50 yds away. I used to take my kid down that path when he was in a stroller but I would have to explain way to much adult stuff .
When you mentioned Pizza My Heart, you said, "I'm not saying their pizza is the best". But, they literally are the first American pizza to ever win the "Best Traditional Pizza" prize at the International Pizza Competition in Las Vegas. (voted the best pizza in the world)
The guy is not a professional food critic. Pizza My ❤ is AWESOME. We all know THAT. So what if his slice was overcooked. They replaced it. I have never in the 39yrs I've been able to eat solid food- had a yucky slice from PM❤.
I live just north in the Santa Cruz mountains. This was so fun and a great video to share with visiting friends! Too bad you missed the Bigfoot Museum in Felton! If you had parked at Henry Cowell instead of Roaring Camp, you would have seen it on Hwy 9. Next time ♥️
Plus, Henry Cowell is a state park. Once you pay for parking in one state park, that receipt is good for all the state parks. There are 14 of them in Santa Cruz County. Looks like Yellow Productions was there in the winter. Prime time for the butterfly migration over at Natural Bridges state park. How is he going to fit all the extra activities in next time? Think we can lure him away from San Diego, Tink?
Umm so I am watching when coronavirus is happening and we’re going Cuz the day I am going is Labor Day or Memorial Day I am a kid and I love Santa Cruz am so excited

How long is the drive from Los Angeles to Santa Cruz? I'm trying to find a few little mini vacations my family can take this summer and this is definitely an option.
Depends on which way you go...you can either take highway 1 and that will take easily a full day (maybe more depending on how many stops you take) or you can take the 101 which will take maybe 12 hours. Highway 5...up to highway 152 will be your fastest bet.
The monetary bay aquarium but that is only a few minutes from Santa Cruz, there are several beaches that I love, Marini’s candy store is a all time favorite of most, Betty’s burgers is also a Santa Cruz fav. I also love the cement ship. I also love Henry Cowell park. Just to name a few
We are going to visit San Francisco, los angeles and las Vegas this year, the tipical roadtrip. :) And santa cruz is now on our list too. It looks really interesting :)
Santa Cruz looks beautiful! I like how there is a good mix of things to do in the city itself as well as different things out in nature. The coastline looks really cool! In fact, there is also a Mystery Spot up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan near the Mackinac Bridge. I haven't been to that one, but I'd be curious to see how similar or different it is to the one in Santa Cruz.
We didn't really walk from the hotel to anywhere. We drove. But I'd say if you did walk it's about 15 minutes to "downtown Santa Cruz" and maybe 20-25 minutes to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.
If you like live music, check out The Catalyst, located downtown. For food, if you like Crêpes...check out The Crêpe Place. And if you play disc golf...be sure to bring your plastic and play DeLaveaga Disc Golf Course. One of the best courses in the world.

@@footballgeorgiebest Atlantis is the comic store and its been downtown for a very long time. Joe is the owner & is thee coolest man. There is a vid on here somewhere where he is interviewed re: LB & an idea of his got put in the movie because he knew more abt comics than the director.
Just got home from there had a blast went fishing aswell
How long is the drive from Los Angeles to Santa Cruz? I'm trying to find a few little mini vacations my family can take this summer and this is definitely an option.
Depends on which way you go...you can either take highway 1 and that will take easily a full day (maybe more depending on how many stops you take) or you can take the 101 which will take maybe 12 hours. Highway 5...up to highway 152 will be your fastest bet.
We flew... Southwest Airlines from Santa Ana to San Jose. 35 mins driving from San Jose airport.
@@YellowProductions thanks
@@MattAHTatTat hhhmmmm...ok, thanks
I live 30 minutes away from Santa Cruz and often drive down to LA. It takes me about 5 hours down PCH . So I estimate it’ll take about 7 hours.
Great video !
Just saying pizza my heart does have the BEST pizza 😂
I usually really like pizza my heart.. this location I had to return my Pepporoni slice because it was burnt
Yellow Productions you should try Upper Crust pizza in the West Side of SC. The atmosphere is great and the pizza is definitely delicious.
Should be called ‘ Take the pizza ‘
I LOVE PM❤ ! Pesto! So much history on the walls. Great pizza parlour. Always has been. Can't judge a place based on one slice.
Dogshit pizza
I'm already judging this video so hard as a local😂
Yeah a lot of people are locals. Why are you so cringey? Duuurrr a video made in my city durrrr
He forgot UC Santa Cruz and Natural Bridges, but I guess you can’t cover it all.
I been there and i had a churo there, and it was delish.
Best video ever
I live in Pacific grove (monterey) .. santa cruz is lovely, not sure why people talk so negatively about it online.
Didn't it have a drug problem years back?
Downtown has a lot of really cool bars and restaurants

Hah
I've been in Santa Cruz for so long also my parents own a restaurant in Santa cruz
Interesting.. when you visit the one in Michigan we can compare notes :)
Sounds good!
Does anybody feel a bit scared of Santa Cruz after watching Us?
Yep
that’s the reason i want to go lol
it also made me wanna live in the forest area that the family lives in
Wow ???
lol I loved seeing everyone’s faces trying to dodge being in camera view
I’m staying at that hotel! How far is it to walk from there to
Some Of the attractions?!
We didn't really walk from the hotel to anywhere. We drove. But I'd say if you did walk it's about 15 minutes to "downtown Santa Cruz" and maybe 20-25 minutes to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.
The boardwalk used to be a real shithole and a hangout for shady characters. It got a big renovation in the 90s. It’s awesome now.
Best dispensary’s are treehouse and kind peoples collectives have some fire gas
You beat me to the punch!
Kind Peoples is my favorite. My son lives there, and I like to visit him often.
Don't forget Chai dispensary has the best deals
Check out their specials days
Todd Shaff Chai is the best, all prices on the wall are OTD prices.
lol you’re getting ROBBED shopping at kind peoples. GO TO CHAI or Santa cruz naturals in Aptos.
Wow looks similar to Daytona...Wooden Roller Coaster, Boardwalk etc....
A little bit.. just no driving on the beach in Santa Cruz
Oh but the weather here in Santa Cruz....... Ahhhhhh....
If you like live music, check out The Catalyst, located downtown. For food, if you like Crêpes...check out The Crêpe Place. And if you play disc golf...be sure to bring your plastic and play DeLaveaga Disc Golf Course. One of the best courses in the world.
Thanks for the tip! I should have brought my frisbees! :)
