  • This is the eighth track on Led Zeppelin's eponymous debut studio album.
I, I Can't Quit You, Baby, so I'm gonna put you down for awhile.
I said, I can't quit you, baby, I guess I gotta put you down for awhile.
Said you messed up my happy home, made me mistreat my only child.
Said you know I love you, baby, my love for you I could never hide.
Oh, you know I love you, baby, my love for you I could never hide.
When I feel you near me little girl, I know you are my one desire.
When you hear me moaning and groaning, baby
You know it hurts me deep down inside.
When you hear me moaning and groaning, baby
You know it hurts me deep down inside.
Oh, when you hear me holler baby, you know you're my one desire. Yes, you are.

I snuck into Cobo Hall in Detroit in I guess '73 as the workers were loading equipment in the afternoon & hid out in the woman's bathroom for many hours until the show started that evening because the concert was sold-out... can't imagine doing that for anything now... can still remember the lighting effect of Robert Plant's curly big hairdo being outlined by light from behind.

In this track, Jimmy Page creates most of the angst of the emotion attached to the story and lyrics behind the song by using his lead guitar riffs and solo sections throughout most of the music . In other tracks on this album there is a loud back and forwards interaction between Robert Plant's vocals echoing strongly in part between Page's guitar riffs but I find that the focus on the guitar coming to the fore and Robert's vocals being more muted is a great way of how this song has being created! In my view, I think that this song deserves more attention and higher accolades than the present rating.

There are so many cover songs during this era that it's great to listen to as many as you can. You will always get a different effect. I think it's wonderful that these newer artists knew how great the Blues writers like "Stormy Monday" or even Louis Armstrong's "It's a wonderful world " or Hey Dolly" and respect them by saying this is so great that i we are going to do it again for a new generation. Amen to many cover songs from the true Blues Era. EVEN they covered th mussels shoals sound. Many of these groups went to Mussel Shoals, AL, just record this dpe usl sound. Look it up . The Swampers played backups for many Rock Bands in the studios. Enjoy if you want great music.

When you hear me moanin and groanin baby, you know it hurts me deep down inside.
Let me use this Telecaster, and this amplifier to express how I really feel about it.
I am gifted, I was a long time session musician, and now I'm gonna get down for real.
And we ain't kind, we don't care what nobody thinks, and we ain't takin no prisoners.
On a resolving sound system, Jimmie's telecaster produces sounds that are both
above, and below the hearing ability of human ears, and everything in between.

No.. It was Bonham, who had problems getting the timing right, from the start of rehearsals

I believe this is his 1960 LP Custom .. even if for this sole number.. It was his favorite guitar after all, and I bet here he cared very much to get it exactly right

Jimmy made a mistake- and the point is? I would sure like to hear anyone perfect this masterpiece.

The point was that it’s interesting that they left such a glaring mistake on the final cut. Did they do it because they were on a money and time budget? Did they think no one would notice? Did they hear it and like it? Wasn’t taking a shot a Jimmy, so relax. Any musician even Jimmy Page, makes mistakes. We all (Musicians) know that.
