I think they added the new level around Halloween. It should’ve been part of the game when it was released, because people were disappointed that the Guest only appeared for a second before Quentin crashed. I wonder if it was also responsible for the crash in which the neighbor’s wife died? Also, I like the level’s spooky atmosphere, and that the Guest plays a bigger role now. However, I hate the parkour part.
I personally think that the first game isn’t too bad. A lot of this opinion comes from the story. It’s of a man who had 2 kids. His wife died in a car crash. His son was mentally ill and pushed his sister from the top of the building. Not wanting to lose his son he hides his son in the basement. The player tries to get into the basement. The neighbour figuring out our goal locks us up in the basement along with his son. It’s been 2 months when we finally get out and escape. 19 years later I think he player is taken out of his apartment and goes back to his old home to only find the neighbours house in ruins. The player has a dream and in said dream finds out the neighbours secret. I personally think the story is similar to FNAFs but is far less complicated.
There is actually an update to it where if u go over the bridge and through a tunnel there is a whole extra area with the guest and when you finish it you get a cutscene
You should try out Hello Neighbor Alpha 1. It's a lot better than the full game, because it's actually scary and doesn't have absurdly difficult puzzles. The bugginess is arguably less as well, or at least less often-occurring.

But it's still a pretty good game. I actually completed the game yesterday and got all the trophies today:)
Congrats on the completion dude!!! I’m the same as you, I think the TH-camrs like markiplier and jacksepticeye really made it a childhood classic for many people, and it was so interesting that the neighbor ‘learned’ stuff in the early alphas!
And also i don't know why TH-cam deleted my comment But there are two extra DLCS nn Hello 2 and the halloween DLC which is a part of an upcoming story expansion which includes The Guest as The Main Antagonist of The DLC
I really like the first game it just feels more iconic. But then again, i like a game thats not very polished. Idk why but i feel it adds character to it. Plus I LOVE a game I can break. I feel hello neighbor one had more freedom of movement. (I mean that litterally and expresionally.) In the way that your jumps are limmetless and also the first has a little less objective and can be explored interactively. It is very iconic and the lore is good. I got hello neighbor 2 expecting what I got in the first game and was suprised to see how poished it was. But, it wasnt what I was looking for. And thats where I learned about steam "pending money" but dont get me started on that. You should play the hello neighbor early alphas. Not for a full vid but they are still fun.
@@Bendyy_VR I’ll look into that for sure! The game on pc is much different than on ps, on ps it’s legit unplayable due to crashing and bugs! It’s not changed on there at all I think, but on pc there have been more patches
the neighbor (mr peterson) started kidnapping kids because aaron (the son of the neighbor) he accidentally pushed his sister of a roof so mr peterson (the neighbor) hid aaron (the son) in the basement so he doesn’t die like the rest of the family members but there was a group of kids trying to sneak in the neighbors house but then they were caught
Same, I honestly like hello neighbor. Although the gameplay is horrible, the story is amazing, especially if you've read the books as well ( which are great btw)
Letting you know if you really love the night time of raven brooks you should really visit the forest! It’s great and a little spooky and make sure to check on the game in the upcoming months because they have actually been updated hello neighbor 2 to make it better! They are planning on expanding on the cliff hanger ending and adding new free chapters! Even though the second game could be a little better it is an actually a win for the community because the devs actually seem like they want to fix their mistakes with these updates. Also I love your editing and pacing.
ESSAY TIME: before I start, the reason Mr. Peterson's house changes is because it's how the character you play as percives it. the hello neighbor story starts when the town is founded by the Travish Family sometime in like the 1400's or so, then Mr. Petersons parents moved to raven brooks in 1950's they studied weird weather patterns (AND FIGURED OUT HOW TO CONTROL WEATHER!!!?!?!?!?!?!??!) until they supposedly found out about a cult called the Forrest protectors. Unfortunately for them the cult used luck rituals against them and their lives were ruined, but they continued to work despite not being funded by the Travish family (respect). Mr. Peterson had a brother and a sister (I think) but the brother died or something at the weather station their parents work at (L) then Mr. Peterson as an adult starts designing theme parks, but they always end up in disaster and the family has to move, he has a boy named Aaron and a daughter named Maya, the wife is named Andel I believe, when they move to raven brooks, they Ravens return a month early. Everyone thinks they brought bad luck over the town and Aaron and Maya get bullied at school, but they find friends, Enzo, Maritsa, trinity and lucy Y they get along well. Then Mr. Peterson is asked to build a new theme park for the golden apple corporation (run by the travishes) but then then Aaron and mya find out about the Forrest protector cult and if you read the start, you probably know how the cult feels about this, Also the Tavish family are a part of the cult. The cult rigg up the park to kill Mr. Peterson and his family, but it kills Lucy Y instead. Mr. Peterson goes a little crazy. that's all I've got up too at this point of Aarons point of view from the books but now it's time for the game's story/ Nicky's story, so Nicky Roth moves in to Raven brooks and meets Aaron and his family, he does meet Enzo too, but Enzo is scared of Aaron, this is because he is scared of Peterson (I think) but when Aaron goes Missing he persuades Aarons old friend's to go into Mr. Peterson's house and look for clues. Soon all his friends are deep in the rabbit hole, but when the police take action due to the evidence the kids found, everyone thinks they have done enough, but not Nicky. He eventually gets locked in Mr. Petersons basement though, then All of Nicky's friend's trying to help Nicky escape, to find out how just play the vr game, you may think but secret neighbor is Nicky's friends helping him but actually that game just the kids brainstorming ideas to get Nicky out and is all in their heads. so, after the kids let Aaron get out of his prison Aaron helps Nicky escape (cardboard cutout unlocks the door in the biggening of act 2) to let everyone escape Aaron make a diversion to distract Mr. Peterson, then Mr. Peterson Attempts to bring Aaron back inside but Quintin witnesses this. (one long hello neighbor sequel gameplay later) Nicky moves into his old house in 2017, he gets over his fears in a massive version of Mr. Petersons house. And the last thing in the timeline takes place in 2020 I think were Mr. Peterson tries to flood Raven brooks using the weather station that controls the weather and the guest causes time to be broken I guess lol.
if you have a pc and friends then i would recommend getting the game on steam because there is a sale rn and a modder made a co op mod that is really fun
Unpopular opinion but I actually like hn1 more than hn2. I mainly like it because of the cartoony artstyle and nostalgia. But I do agree hn1 is wayy too buggy, the puzzles are confusing and the lore. Oh my god.
The cardboard cut outs of kids represents the Neighbor's kids. The rollercoaster pushing the cardboard of the girl represents the Neighbor's son pushing his sister to death and the neighbor locked his son in the basement to either to protect him from the police or to prevent him from getting into an accident and dying. So the main character is the only kid the neighbor has ever kidnapped.
The show is, like, genuinely good. (Spoilers if anybody cares.) The show is different from the games by a lot. The neighbor is, like, actually unnerving. He does *something* to Nicky after kidnapping him that very literally traumatizes him. He also murders. A lot. There’s an onscreen death in the first *3 minutes* of the *first episode.* Also, the guest has more screen time in the final episode than in (aside from the new stuff) Hello neighbor 2. But, probably the scariest thing that happens in the show, the neighbor chases past his property line. I genuinely liked it, and I’m not ashamed of it.
@@CSY_ They tried to get a publisher, but failed, so it’s more like a TH-cam series. I’m glad they didn’t get a publisher. No way the show would be like this if there was one. Don’t watch the pilot, it sucks and the story restarts after it.
Yeah the show is really good Theres also the Books that are pretty good imo and the Neighbor at least in my opinion is at times even creepier then in the show

The Funniest Part About This Game For Me Was Just Finding As Many Bugs As I Could And Pushing The AI To Its Limits 😅
one time when i was getting one of those valves in hello neighbor 1 i put a box down and it flinged me so far over the fence it went to the act 3 cutscene
Look, Hello neighbor 1 is not a game, it's a feeling, it's nostalgia. It's not good and meant for the aspect of gaming, it's made to have fun. The glitches literally make the game way more fun, if u played this in your childhood, you'll feel what I feel.
Fun fact when you go in the neighbors house for the first time in the second game if you collect one of the houses and put it on the map table before getting the shovel it hard locks you and you have to reset the entire game and start from the beginning
Hello Neighbor had so much potential. More than I can even describe or explain. I could go on a tangent for days about every little thing that is wrong with the final product, but my 14 year old self would tell that story better. It really is a shame that the game went from a genuinely fun and spooky experience with lore and adult themes to a kid friendly joke of a game. Garten of Banban is scarier than this joke of a kiddy franchise! I should also mention that the console version of the first game has received NO UPDATES OR BUG FIXES unlike the PC version. Peterson doesn't even use his vacuum cleaner when you're out of sight! Unfortunately the creators don't give a toss about making their franchise evolve from a cashgrab.
I'm surprised he didn't play the current patch of the game (you tell from his loading screen cause in current it's a clock spinning not the three dots underneath it).
Man i love the first hello neighbour and i loved the 2nd one when it first came out until they changed the controls and when they changed the catch animation
do people really not enjoy the first game??? i found the glitches fun and i dont know how you got all the bad glitches because i didnt get any and my game never crashed once
the lore of the first game: niki roth, the character you play as, is playing along the road when he spots theodore peterson, the neighbor, grabbing his son, aaron peterson, and locking him in their basement. the reason is because peterson had lost his wife and daughter. his wife from a car crash, and his daughter, mya peter son, to falling to her death after a heated argument with her brother. theodore locks aaron inside his basement, for he is scared for losing him too. niki decides to investigate, getting caught and sent to his house. after which he breaks in and gets inside the basement, searching for aaron. enraged, theodore chases niki for trying to free his son, catching niki in the process. after spending 4 months inside his neighbor’s basement, niki escapes. (the walls i have heard from niki’s imagination, but i doubt it and dont know for sure). many years later, niki is living in his own apartment, before getting an eviction notice. he moves back to his old home, where the neighbor’s house is in ruin. he then sleeps and dreams of a large, monstrous house. after many vigorous challenges, he gets in the basement and battles the giant neighbor and protects his younger self from the thing, the shadow monster jn the finale, which represents his childhood trauma, and niki himself getting over it. after defeating the thing and theodore, he lives without his dreadful thought of the neighbor, and the game ends.
I platinumed HN1 (and HN1 only) and from what I can say, I'm never touching this game ever again. I remember playing the game and the Neighbor put like 30 cameras in one spot (not even joking) and I had to break them and take them all down, so that I couldn't get caught. My least favorite part in the game is the mini games, especially the teacher one. My least favorite trophy requirement in this game is (Don't Bite Snow White), it's odd that you have to wait 3 real life hours for a tree to grow. What I did after doing the chores to make it start growing, I plugged the charger into the controller and taped the right anolog stick, (aiming it to the right). Then I did some different activities while the player was spinning, then I came back and got the achievement. I think they should've went with their original plan and actually Improved on the (Pre Alpha/Alpha 1) versions).
I feel like the beta and alpha 1 was the only ones that were actually scary, hello neighbor was supposed to be a horror game, but alpha 2 and so on had a like cartoony look, and they completely removed the scary chase music that was in alpha 1, and the beta, so the game wasn’t really scary anymore after alpha 1, and the story was super confusing, his wife died in a car crash, then his son killed his daughter, then locked his son his the basement to keep him safe? its super confusing

When i used to play Hello Neighbor 1 when i was about 7-9, i lowkey liked it SO much that it was on my "Top 5 childhood games" I just don't know why it got so much hate, like yeah, i know there where many bugs.
Yeahs it’s a childhood classic but doesn’t hold up to me anymore
@@ShiftyMungus Yeah, i agree
"The first game was considered a failure"
Yeah, the $5,467,804.24 net profit begs to differ. Bad game design doesn't mean it didn't do good.

That's 5 billion 46 million 78 thousand 4 hundred 24
Hey nice video man!.
Btw.. wasn't there a game with the birdman (the guest) as the main villain?
Not sure dude! I’m kinda a newbie to this franchise still! Making a video on hide and seek soon so it could be that game!
@CSY_ i did a lil bit of research. And uh. Yeah the guest actually has his own game. Its named hello guest if im not mistaken.
@CSY_ you can check it out if you want. Im not forcing you.
You were actually playing the pre release of Hello Neighbor 1
Replay it on PC or other consoles for better gameplay
Because they the PS4 copy you own is the pre release version so get it on PC or other consoles
And also i don't know why TH-cam deleted my comment
But there are two extra DLCS nn Hello 2 and the halloween DLC which is a part of an upcoming story expansion which includes The Guest as The Main Antagonist of The DLC
The upcoming story expansion is called Patch 10 btw
Can you Platinum Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek and Secret Neighbor next?
Everyone keeps saying this, so its very likely I will!
@@CSY_ Then suit yourself, its going to be a tough ride
I’ll be ready! From the platinums I’ve already got they shouldn’t be too bad!
@@CSY_ They are not hard, but really time consuming.
theres HN books that go in depth on the story and theyre making a cartoon, just wish more of that story was in HN 2
and hn 1 for that matter
I’ve had the first hello neighbor game for years got the platinum trophy straight away when I got it and I’ve never had any bugs or glitches
Nice! I wish I could say the same 😂
@@CSY_ if u didn’t want the bugs use a ps4 slim yea it might sound like a jet but it works
I only got ps5 bruh, sold my ps4 years ago :(
@@CSY_ dang :(
Nice video mate!
Thank you so much mate!
the neighbor (mr peterson) started kidnapping kids because aaron (the son of the neighbor) he accidentally pushed his sister of a roof so mr peterson (the neighbor) hid aaron (the son) in the basement so he doesn’t die like the rest of the family members but there was a group of kids trying to sneak in the neighbors house but then they were caught
also to protect Aaron from the forrest protectors
@@MineBill-jr8mg yeah
I played this back in 2020-2021 i was 6-7 yrs old and my mom didint lemme play more idk why
As one of the first horror games I ever played i personally think hello neighbor is a great
Game
I will be sure to check that out when it updates! Thank you for the feedback I really appreciate it! More vids coming soon! :)
I got all the achievements in hello neighbor on my xbox one when i was 10 3 years ago
Nice!
ESSAY TIME:
before I start, the reason Mr.
Peterson tries to flood Raven brooks using the weather station that controls the weather and the guest causes time to be broken I guess lol.
tbh ppl who like normal games like dark souls should not even think about hello neighbor.
I like HN
Same
if you have a pc and friends then i would recommend getting the game on steam because there is a sale rn and a modder made a co op mod that is really fun
@@ncredible5233 hell yea! I’ll definitely look into that dude!
great video man
I mean, it ain’t that bad. You just have to play it more than it. Kind of funny whenever it glitches with up the glitches that are kind of annoying
Man I’ve played/beated this game with my dad on PC when I wa like….either 5 or 8..5-8 years later I’m back to playing it….memories..
Unpopular opinion but I actually like hn1 more than hn2. I mainly like it because of the cartoony artstyle and nostalgia. But I do agree hn1 is wayy too buggy, the puzzles are confusing and the lore. Oh my god.
17:26 that’s actually not the last time we see him! Over the red bridge and through the tunnel
18:18 “4 days and 5 nights” Five Nights at Freddy’s that’s where I wanna be
The show is, like, genuinely good.
There’s a show? Wow never knew that!
@@CSY_
They tried to get a publisher, but failed, so it’s more like a TH-cam series. I’m glad they didn’t get a publisher. No way the show would be like this if there was one. Don’t watch the pilot, it sucks and the story restarts after it.
Yeah the show is really good Theres also the Books that are pretty good imo and the Neighbor at least in my opinion is at times even creepier then in the show
@@SpikeForrestGaming i like the fact that i know exactly which video you watched for this
@@SpikeForrestGaming they just did yesterday
the only diference is its now on prime where the episodes should relesae week early but it should still be on youtube only later
I agree, Hello Neighbor 2 is so much better than Hello Neighbor 1. Visually so beautiful and the puzzles makes sense. However the problem is the lack of content. You should check out the Halloween update for Hello Neighbor 2 and Hello Neighbor Hide and Seek! Loved your video, thanks.
It may not be the best game but it’s iconic for anyone who was a child in between 2011 to 2019
Agreed
you know a game's bad when the alpha versions are better than the final release.
100% dude!
21:29 KIIITTTTYYYYYYYYYYY :OOOOOOOOO
Hell yea! She’s called Ellie 🐈⬛:)
At least the show has a good reputation
I don't understand why he is so mean to this game it is a good game And also he doesn't understand what is going on but half of this game is in a Dream
No, HN1 is horrible
Son: hey dad what’s hello neighbor?
Me: my childhood… 😢😢
Glad you didn't do hide and seek those achievements are kinda hard to get a few of them
I’ll likely do them one day!
I Had The Act 3 Car Bug Too At 11:24 So I Build A Base Out Of Boxes Around The Tree, Got A TV And Some Food From The Neighbour's House, Many Water Buckets, Chairs And A Flashlight And Camped The Tree Area (BTW If You Quit Or Die The Neighbor Respawns So Be Careful Of That) Also There Is A Bug Where You Can Make Him Infinitely Jump Out Of Bounds Or Get Trapped Behind The Player's House.
The Funniest Part About This Game For Me Was Just Finding As Many Bugs As I Could And Pushing The AI To Its Limits 😅
21:22 Pet the car? 😂
PET THE CAR.
Apparently a hello neighbor 3 is being made, are you planning to make a video on that?
2:45 the GET OUT! Is so funny
one time when i was getting one of those valves in hello neighbor 1 i put a box down and it flinged me so far over the fence it went to the act 3 cutscene
Bud is making himself hate the game just for the video 😂
Yea bruh look at the views 😭😭😭 worked I guess
Look, Hello neighbor 1 is not a game, it's a feeling, it's nostalgia. It's not good and meant for the aspect of gaming, it's made to have fun. The glitches literally make the game way more fun, if u played this in your childhood, you'll feel what I feel.
Fun fact when you go in the neighbors house for the first time in the second game if you collect one of the houses and put it on the map table before getting the shovel it hard locks you and you have to reset the entire game and start from the beginning
I swear to God, the neighbour is like Drake they always want kids in their basement
Personally I completely disagree with you and think you made some bad points but I do respect your opinion
i remember playing 1 in 2017 and in act two i was on the minecart cutscene and i got teleported outside of the gates hence i completed it from a bug
Hello neighbor story Is actually good and very interesting, and the game Is good too but too many bugs
Bugs or without bugs, the story was AMAZING, I honestly don’t care if anyone disagrees, I like both games, but I prefer the first one.
I'm surprised he didn't play the current patch of the game (you tell from his loading screen cause in current it's a clock spinning not the three dots underneath it).
Nvm my dumbass forgot that Tiny Build didn't give that patch a console port.
Play Hello Neighbor: Hide And Seek. It explains more about the story!
Might have to make that a follow up to this vid!
if I could recommend something, the previous alpha versions of hello neighbor 2. For example, hello guest. Some alphas are actually fun and scary 👍
Could u play hide and seek hello neighbor
Have completed it already, and done the hello neighbor 2 guest stuff, vid coming soon!
In my opinion, I absolutely love hello neighbour, although i do respect what you think. i think that the glitches make it more fun and goofy.
Man i love the first hello neighbour and i loved the 2nd one when it first came out until they changed the controls and when they changed the catch animation
do people really not enjoy the first game??? i found the glitches fun and i dont know how you got all the bad glitches because i didnt get any and my game never crashed once
I loved the hello neighbor games, and I absolutely agree that they are not very good games, and I find great enjoyment in buggy games XD
I literally didn't know these games were on playstation 🤣
the lore of the first game: niki roth, the character you play as, is playing along the road when he spots theodore peterson, the neighbor, grabbing his son, aaron peterson, and locking him in their basement. the reason is because peterson had lost his wife and daughter. his wife from a car crash, and his daughter, mya peter son, to falling to her death after a heated argument with her brother. theodore locks aaron inside his basement, for he is scared for losing him too. niki decides to investigate, getting caught and sent to his house. after which he breaks in and gets inside the basement, searching for aaron. enraged, theodore chases niki for trying to free his son, catching niki in the process. after spending 4 months inside his neighbor’s basement, niki escapes. (the walls i have heard from niki’s imagination, but i doubt it and dont know for sure). many years later, niki is living in his own apartment, before getting an eviction notice. he moves back to his old home, where the neighbor’s house is in ruin. he then sleeps and dreams of a large, monstrous house. after many vigorous challenges, he gets in the basement and battles the giant neighbor and protects his younger self from the thing, the shadow monster jn the finale, which represents his childhood trauma, and niki himself getting over it. after defeating the thing and theodore, he lives without his dreadful thought of the neighbor, and the game ends.
why do u diss the hello neighbour lore so much? It has so much potential and really makes senses when you look at it at another perspective.
I think the lore is shallow, but looking back was nowhere near as bad as I claim it to be
The rich guy who owns the big fancy house i think is actually the mayor, i call him rich phill 😂
Can u enter the glitch world on ps5?
Sure can! I recorded this all on my ps5 in June :)
Hello neighbor is a good franchise seeing all of this gives me nostalgia
Wait, the main character from Hello Neighbor 1 is Nicky?
Like the same Nicky from the Hello Neighbor series?
The redesign done him really well.
I really wish hello neighbour 1 was mixed with hello neighbour 2, the houses more realistic, not clunky, more polished, easier puzzles and better AI
Holy shit hello neighbour is good
4:44 GET THE **** OUT
They are fire, the glitchs make it better
Why people hate first hello nighbor game it litterly the legend of my childhood and not even my one even others and hello noghbor 2 i liked it to
I feel like the beta and alpha 1 was the only ones that were actually scary, hello neighbor was supposed to be a horror game, but alpha 2 and so on had a like cartoony look, and they completely removed the scary chase music that was in alpha 1, and the beta, so the game wasn’t really scary anymore after alpha 1, and the story was super confusing, his wife died in a car crash, then his son killed his daughter, then locked his son his the basement to keep him safe? its super confusing
