It was like a Milo Perrier adventure but from the blackest corner of hell. Congratulations Mr.French, you’ve outdone yourself. Genius and more of the same please.
I 've not heard of Milo Perrier. I learn about new authors from listeners like you- and that there seems to be an endless number of Sherlock Holmes types in literature. Cheers. E.E.F.
Thank you for brining life to these old pulp stories. I would never have read this on my own, modern horror literature being my great love, but now I can't wait for your next Jules deGrandin reading!
I wonder how many people remember Seabury Quinn. Apparently, at one time his stories in Weird Tales Magazine were more popular than Lovecraft's works. Cheers. E.E.F.
Just now found and listened to this story. It leaves me at a loss for words. Would like to hear other stories by this author. As always your narration of this story is in its self like cool water and shade on a scorching hot afternoon.
I agree. This one was tough going, even with my depraved tastes. I've also recorded Quinn's "The Poltergeist" here on the FF channel if you still crave more De Grandin perversity! E.E.F
Ive noticed that you often reply to people's comments and I just wanted to say how refreshing that is and thank you for your amazing work, really helps me nod off ❤
I TRY to respond to all comments about the narrations, if I can. I appreciate your positive response.....BUT, I do hope I'm not putting you to sleep in the middle of a story.... (LOL) E.E.F.
I’m sure they preferred to drown in mud rather than be rescued, it’s not as of the genius Jules De Grandin could have possibly restored their forms, or failing that, returned them to the care of their families where they might have enjoyed their families, music, food, comfort, or prayer in their disfigurature.
Maestro French, is there any chance you could do Margery of Quether by Sabine Baring Gould? Of all the TH-cam narrators I think you would have the most fun with it. It’s a delicious opportunity for your myriad voices. Ty!
Hello. I'm curious. I'll have to look this one up. Never heard of it. You may have noticed that most of the Fiction Fantastique audios are of VERY OLD books so that I can avoid copyright infringement. We'll see what the deal is with this one. THANKS for the suggestion. E.E.F.
@ this is a 19th c story. You should definitely be acquainted either way Baring-Gould. He studied old folklore (werewolves and vampires, etc). Dug up really bizarre and curious historic events and wrote ghost stories. He also wrote “Onward Christian Soldiers!”
@@FrenchEdward06 there’s a narration about a real life Christian cult in 19th or 18th c Germany where everybody ended up willing bludgeoning each other to death. Good stuff! It’s in one of his books on manias.

@@FrenchEdward06I believe that is a reference to James Coco’s character (a Hercule Poirot parody) in the 1970s mystery-comedy “Murder by Death”.
My god, what a production! Only you could pull off this level of entertainment E.F.F.🙏🏼
If he were alive, The Marquis de Sade could have done it but THANK you. E.E.F.

Yeeeeees! I love Seabury Quinn! I love Edward French! I loooove the combination!

Sinister Saturday is here! Thank you, as always, Mr. French.
Thanks for tuning in to your Shrieker Speaker. E.E.F.
@FrenchEdward06 I wouldn't miss it for the world 😊
The title alone excites me. Thank you Mr. French.
Marty, if you like weird houses, if you scout around the channel you'll find more of them, but none as gruesome as this one! E.E.F.
@@FrenchEdward06 One of my favorites is The Empty house by Algernon Blackwood.

Seabury Quinn's Grandin tale "Poltergeist" is recorded on the channel. It's in 2 parts in the playlists section. Thanks for listening. E.E.F.
This guy had a sick imagination 😬
Please do more stories by him 😅

Seabury Quinn, Clark Ashton Smith and Joseph Payne Brennan- the most twisted of the early pulps. Huzzah!
@@jacksonmyers3187 AGREED. This story is so twisted it kind of appalled even the old Shrieker Speaker! (LOL) E.E.F.
"Observe the evil affects of stealing motor cars." 🤣
The guy had some mega bad Karma. E.E.F.
@FrenchEdward06 I'm just glad that I've never stolen a car before. I had no idea.
Whew, what a ride! Thank you Mr French.
As Bette Davis might have said - "bumpy ride"- or something like that.. Cheers...E.E.F.
This was an absolute treat! Thank-you so much for sharing your storytelling talents.
Excellent! a brilliant performance of a properly bizarre story.

What a simply horrific example of man's inhumanity to man. Well done you, Monument French!
Great job as always you are the best!!!¡!
THANKS @patriciaflynn3095. Stay tuned every Saturday night in 2025!~ E.E.F.
Shout out from NJ. Damn scary.
Okay, but what did you think of the story? ;-)
Apparently, Harrisonville, New Jersey is scarier than Washington, D.C. Cheers. E.E.F.
Your de Grandin is excellent! I hope you'll consider doing some more Seabury Quinn stories.
Thanks JT_Soul. There will be mor to come until they pry the microphone from my cold dead hands....and maybe even more after that! (LOL) E.E.F.

Yeah pretty creepy - loved it. Thanks!
It may be in the top ten really perverse stories on the FICTION FANTASTIQUE CHANNEL. E.E.F.
